We got our groove thrown off by a much to early appointment yesterday but we're catching up now, (-8
So, Sandman is must watch TV, just sayin' I know just a few weeks ago I was commentating on companies buying media licensees then not using the actual stories that made them popular in the first place, well much of Sandman is direct from the comics nearly word for word and it's a good thing, (-8
There's another show I've been watching in the background that I found by accident and is surprisingly good and I think lots of folk about these parts would like it. It's also weird that I've barely heard of it? No ads or mentions anywhere... and it should totally hit my targeted algorithms, (-8 (maybe it's my adblocker which has blocked... 18 million ads so far this year...) It's called Supernatural Academy and apparently its based off of a teen novel series... which is on my list now. I think the animation style makes it seem like it's a kids show, but it most definitely is not... maybe that's what leads to some of the confusion. Without spoilers, it's monster kids going to college. Lots of teen drama but also delightful world building.

I think there needs to be a megalist somewhere of recommended movies/shows to watch. I think there was a books list but since there's so many cool new things coming out... maybe revive the thread or create a new one? ^^

I've been thinking of something similar Sio, (-8 There seems to be a huge movie/tv boom on the way like the Covid dam broke and all the good ideas are flowing again. ...and it's hard to keep up with all the good stuff! This month alone there is so much good stuff dropping!
I'd also note, I'm not a big fan of aggregate sites like Rotten Tomatoes or IMDB... I feel averages just don't give an accurate picture of what a movies/show is about... especially when you factor in movie politics, review bombing, false/paid positive reviews, etc... (I always got the impression that many people who review for RT wait till influential people post a review then follow suit to seem cool and on the same page instead of giving a real opinion, whereas IMDB is just a ton of random 10s and 1s giving most movies on there an average of 6 something...) Personally I'd rather get a review from a small select group of people who I know have similar tastes and there's stalkers around here who's tastes I totally trust and would watch something recommended here over a 78% RT score!
Anyone's welcome to start their own thread of course... but I might start something as well when I figure out a good format, maybe blog style or even create a whole new section where someone can post on a topic or show or film and anyone else here is welcome to comment or give a like/thumbs up or down sort of thing, (-8
I'd also thought of some sort of watching club, like a book club might be fun... I love the idea of several people watching the same thing so there's something fun to chat about... but I rarely have a ton of input myself so I don't always know how to comment other that 'I liked that', lol... I've got opinions but not much skill as a reviewer, (-8
