Welcome to Summertide (I hope you survive the experience) Summertide was a curiosity in the lands of Lamoria. The people were welcoming, likeable and often quite festive. Of course there were a few tales about their exile from the lands of Inisfail but none were first hand and any who went looking for confirmation never seemed to return... the the people of Summertide themselves told tales of visitors simply falling in love with their lands and deciding to stay! Why don't you visit yourself and see what the fuss is about?
Summertide was known for its meads, ciders, wines and plentiful fresh fruits and it was a poor Inn in Lamoria that didn't carry at least a few bottles of sparkling Summertide cider! The place seemed devoid of the oppressive and pervasive fear that so very many places in Lamoria bore constantly. Now they did have highland guards and the people, while friendly enough, didn't put up with trouble makers, but if one simply wanted to travel through, visit or make a trade you might find Summertide a bit of a paradise! Goods of the Wood and Patrons of the Aoi Si (also called Sidhe in many lands) were worshiped in Summertide, though the locals were not pushy about it like a few other lands in Lamoria. Worship as you will but don't interfere with our beliefs was a common enough refrain. Older churches of the deities worshiped in this land before the Sphinxes of Summertide moved in still stood, though most were left to rot or were converted into much less faithful establishments, pubs in particular were the most common. There were a few shrines in these lands but the people worshiped in other ways, much more natural ways, such as groves planted in cemeteries and individual idols placed in windows, under beds and other magically sympathetic places.
The current Lord of Summertide had presided over the people with wisdom and fairness... again something uncommon in a Lord of Lamoria... though rumor has it that he may not be the TRUE lord of the place, only a speaker or figurehead. This was refused by the locals but made the most sense to Summertide's neighbours and scholars of these lands. While the Lord was the highest known official of the these lands, the one who enforced laws, debated rules and was in charge of all major officiary duties, it was the Priestess's whom most turned to for everyday spiritual needs and even daily troubles. They were known to be caring, friendly and very knowledgeable in the ways of medicine, spirits and the heart. A priestess could solve the problem of an escaped goat who ate a neighbours garden, heal a child's cough with a sympathetic frog charm and arrange a well matched Beltane tryst on any given day!
May the sun shine upon you and your visit to Summertide be a fruitful one!

Highland WarriorHighland Warriors were of a similar vein as the Rigfennid of most of Inisfail, though separated by a few more cultural differences and a pride of dress shown by their coveted cloth weavers. In order to win the Highland Warrior above you may post an image of any of the following, in a single post. For each image you post you will have your name added to a draw for the boy above, or alternately you may instead gift the Highland Warrior to anyone else who entered this contest and win a Highland Warrior job upgrade for a male Sphinx you own. (this is for an immediate upgrade, not a voucher.) Each image must be one you took yourself (or your friend/family, like someone took a picture of you holding fish, would count!) 1 - A fish that you have personally caught. If it's a salmon, you will be added to the list twice for this entry. 2 - A spear or sword. If the image has your username in it somewhere, like on a piece of paper, you will be added to the list twice for this entry. 3 - A piece of clothing primarily made of plaid. If the image has your username in it somewhere, like on a piece of paper, you will be added to the list twice for this entry. 4 - A ferocious creature. (this can be a toy or statue or similar, though if you have a living Chimera or Dinosaur in your basement, that will do as well.) 5 - A pouch or small bag, for carrying various possibles. You have 24 hours from this post to enter this contest. Contest entries should be posted in this thread, in a single post with the title of this contest.

The 'Lord' of SummertideThe open Lord of Summertide is a beloved Sphinx... though in truth is simply a figurehead for the True Lord of this land.In order to win the Lord of Summertide above you may write something... a short story or song perhaps that somehow exposes the TRUE Lord of this Lamorian Domain... it may be obvious or descriptive or simply allude to what may rule... What you write may be come part of the Lore of this land... or perhaps it is itself a diversion? You have Four days from this post to enter this contest. Entries are to be sent by PM to Mr. Pooka. After the time limit is up, all that is written will be posted to a voting thread to allow other players to determine their favorite! (Mr. Pooka will only vote on a favorite in case of a tie) I've got my own theories... I'm curious what you may think of this land!

The Priestess and the Wicker ManThere was a short but potent list of skills and practises that made for a good Priestess. Listening was high on the list along with Empathy. One needed to hear peoples problems as well as their joys and truly share in them in order to provide effective advice and solutions. Learning the stories, parables and tales of both the old Gods and the Fairies provided insight into situations both complex and simple, bolstering the first two abilities. Magical rituals were both the glue that held all things together and provided for the community. From playful skyclad dances for invigoration to long night dirges to sing to souls long gone, rituals took many forms.
Todays most important magical ritual was tied to the seasons, tied to the Land and tied to the Sphinxes of Summertide.
The Wicker Man had been erected, central to the farms and orchards that Summertide was known for. It stood 30 feet tall and it's body held cages filled with offerings. Songs had been sung and it was thrice blessed by the local coven. Each priestess had in turn gathered her sacrifice... a personal choice that she focused upon to offer up to the Gods of this land in return for it's legendary bounty! --------- To win the Priestess above you may post the title of this post/contest along with your potential sacrifice. Your offering may be either a Sphinx you own or a pet (unattached) you own. You will be entered into a draw a number of times depending on your potential sacrifice, 5 times for a Sphinx and 2 times for a pet. You have 24 hours from this post to make your offering. When the list is created and randomized, the person on the TOP of the list will permanently lose their sacrifice but win the Priestess above. Also the two players on the BOTTOM of the list will lose their sacrifices but win nothing in return. (except the reward of the Lands of Summertide!) (minor technical note: duplicate names will be ignored when determining the top and bottom entrants)

Yup, it can be a pic of you with a fish, (-8 ...and a username isn't' needed for that particular item/fish. (as a behind the scenes quick note, the ones that can get more entries for having a username are just to show you've prob got one on hand to take a pic and will make a great Highland Warriors, (-8)

I figure it's easy to guess what I rewatched after I made some of those Sphinxes... Though the new one is a bit of blasphemy in the face of the original. I had to resist having a contest for bees though...

One more question I thought of.... Does it have to be a actual or fresh fish? Or can it be like a canned fish? Like a can of tuna or salmon?

Hummm, I think it should probably look like a fish or part of a fish, so I don't think a can will count for this one. Plus it's harder to convince the other Highland warriors that you caught it yourself, (-8
