So Ill have to see when you do fell like pinning down a date for a test run  as a note I prefer 4.0 for new to D&D people due to simplicity(and have been running it for years now lol). But can run 3.5 if needed |

I'm pretty sure that skype (when used as a chatting option, not for phoning people) is free to use/dl, (-8
(I used it for college and for a few Sphinxy events)

I can confirm - Skype is totally free if you don't use it to phone people.

Pretty much the general plan I have is this:
Use roll20 for actual board and pieces (easy for everyone to see and the DM can still keep things hidden, you can even roll virtual dice on the board)
Skype to actually talk to each other.
