So, Pooka and I have been consistently running a bit slow with some of our stuff but we're getting there, (-8 For example I haven't got to judging the amazing looking scrolls in the scribe contest... I'm looking forward to it, but at the same time want to keep forging ahead as we've only got a few more days to get all the stuff we want to do done and out there, even if it takes us a bit to deal with all the results of those games and events... in a 'The show must go on' sort of way I guess? Ya, that sounds cool, (-8
That being said, thanks for your patience with us... things have been consistently tricky the last bit... I've virtually got my own reserved chair at the hospital now. Like today We were going to take a couple hours because Pooka needed, what we thought would be, a quick trip to the hospital to deal with something that has kept her in constant pain for the last couple weeks and was at the point that it could not be ignored. But it wasn't' a quick thing, it ended up being minor surgery (which had to be done awake and could not be frozen or numbed effectively and Pooka said was the most painful thing she's ever gone through, counting her piercings and giving birth. I almost pass out just thinking about what she had to go through.) which had some tubes inserted which leads us to another follow up surgery tomorrow morning whereupon we will be given a time for the third follow up surgery to (hopefully!) the last that will be needed for this particular problem.
It seems a bit laughable now, but we schedule in the last Heb event now because there was nothing on the calendar but so many things keep jumping up. (Two different surgeries for Pooka, the first in a series from today and her second skin cancer removal earlier, a brutal and difficult (and private) family emergency, another hospital trip for our son, + all the Dr. appointments and 'quick' stiches removal kind of appointments that go with these and the stress of a second test for another kind of cancer and the 6 hours of driving that went with that... bleh!)
I'm generally super private about stuff like this and am not big on sharing on some topics, but because it's had such a strong impact on what we've been working on I just needed to mention. I'm not really posting for any kind of sympathy or complaining or anything like that, it's more just a news-ish kind of thing to explain in case anyone thought we were skipping out on things or wondering why we're slow getting to some things around here.
So we may seem a bit flaky here in the background popping in an out, but everything Sphinxes (the community, the team, the creativity, the everything!) are still one of the best things in the world for us and its the joy of working on this stuff that keeps us going even with this kind of stuff creating little speed bumps in our activity, (-8
