The Town Square was filled with a colourful panorama of cloth from the many tarp covered tents and booths. Some showed off their wares of simple skills such as varying craftsmen trying to find a journeyman to train, a stage hosted dancers and musicians looking for skillful potentials to join them, the scribes had schedules and timed essays seeing who out of the untrained mass of peasants could grasp the written word, a training ground with straw stuffed dummies was set up to lure in potential future soldiers and archers for Khemet, and darker figures lurked in alleyways searching for the sphinxes with 'sticky paws' or a thirst for blood to join their guilds.~*~ This is the Job Fair thread for the Sphinxes's Heb~Bastet festival. There will be openings and chances to raise your sphinx to 'nearly' every existing class. (if they meet the requirements, and pass the tests... of course.  Custom Posed Sphinxes and CYO Sphinxes 'could' potentially apply, but do realize that their costumes will not change, but only their certed job title will change.
Love Pairs may also apply but if the class that they win an upgrade for hasn't been re-drawn for their template yet, it may just take a long wait; until awhile after the Festival is over, before you can see the results. (Unlike most other class upgrades that are typically done within a few days at the most, often within the same hour.  The Golden Paw leader Nefer padded silently and unseen around the Job Fair. Now that she was back in charge, albeit more in the open then before, it was time for the Golden Paw to fill it's ranks. She watched carefully with a practiced eye to see who seemed to have the skill, and slightly askew morals, to be offered a potential membership in her guild. She avoided those with a darker leaning, those were better suited to the, ugh, Hand of Darkness. It was the young scoundrels with a good heart that she scanned the throng of sphinxes for. Eventually a smile crept upon her face as she caught sight of varying roguish sphinxes who seemed as if they had potential. Carefully she approached them one by one so as not to raise suspicion from the local guard. "You seem like a sphinx who knows what they're doing. I'm giving you a rare offer to find others of a like mind. Meet me at the Blue Jackal tavern in half an hour and come alone. If you alert the authorities I will know who did it." (OOC)Nefer has approached your sphinx to potentially join the Golden Paw! She sees something in them and hopes that her hunch is right. You have half an hour from when this is posted to sign your sphinx up to enter a contest to join the Golden Paw... or, if your sphinx is already a Golden Paw thief you may sign them up to become a Tomb Robber instead. Simply post a picture of your regular posed, Egyptian sphinx with the saying "I'll meet you there." (bolded) for them to meet Nefer at the Blue Jackal. Shhhhhh.
As always, you can add RP notes if you wish, but it's not necessary. Editing is allowed until time is up. |

 Subira had heard whispers and soon grinned. "I'll meet you there." and while she was already part of the GP, she was going to see if she could up it a little more. She had already taken down a gangster and done well with the medium. Maybe her luck would hold out as she padded off. |

As you enter the Blue Jackal a sphinx behind the counter looks you up and down before nodding to a burly sphinx near a back doorway. He slides it open and ushers you in. Nefer sat at a table, seven pieces of jewelry were spread out before her. Other, curious looking sphinxes wait in the room, also summoned by the Guild Leader to this meeting. "Excellent, you arrived... and without a hint of the guards." she smiles "If it isn't clear I'm offering you a chance to join the Golden Paw. We are a guild of thieves, a family if you will, of those who believe that the wealth should be spread around more then it currently is. Mind you if some of that wealth finds it's way into our own purses so much the better." she winks. "Now' she motions at the seven pieces of jewelry on the table 'if you wish to be good at procuring items of value, well, you need to know what actually is of value." Nefer pauses to look the group over. "Some of these are real, valuable pieces of jewelry, and some of them are fake replicas. Look them over and see if you can figure out, then whisper the answer to me so as not to give hint to the other candidates." with a warning look she scans the group "I expect everybody here to keep their answers to themselves, I want to make sure that you pass this test on your own merit." (OOC)Okay, here is the contest! I have seven pictures of Egyptian jewelry here. Some are pictures of real jewelry from ancient Egypt, and some are replicas (at least according to the sites I got them from. ^^; I did a lot of looking and it should be correct.) If your sphinx signed up PM me the answers to which one you believe is real, and which one you believe is a fake. You have half an hour from when this is posted to mail me. Nefer isn't going to accept somebody who takes more time then that to make their decisions. Use this order, posting vertically... 1 real or fake 2 real or fake 3 4 etc If you post the answers in this or any thread you are disqualified. You're on the honor system to not share the answers in other places.  I will promote to a GP thief everybody who gets all seven identified correctly. If nobody can correctly identify all of them it will be the 3 with the highest scores. If that is tied with more then 3, then it will be decided that the 3 who joins the GP randomly from those top entrants. The first person to mail me with all 7 correct also wins a pile of treasure!  This is due to your sphinxes great thieving skills helping them to acquire great riches quickly.  The jewelry.... |
