Form (Part one): the custom form
Sphinx name: Kaimana
Owner name: wolfrysk
Species: Egyptian
Gender: Female
Traits: There will be more on this below, obviously, but Kaimana is a character who would need 2 versions (Land and Siren) of her colored with only traits [and hair color] changing between the two. Nothing else as far as costume/items changes
- Land Version - Feline Face, Snake Eyes, Silky, Fluffy Tail, Feathering
- Siren Version - Feline Face, Snake Eyes, Fin Ears (Aranea’s), Shark Tail, Shark Grin (if templated for females, if not fine to leave off) - (Remove Silky Ears, Fluffy tail)
Eye Colour: 12E4B1 - preferably with some highlights/darker areas to really make the eyes pop and shine - also a glow in the siren version would be fantastic.
Nose colour (for feline faced): Black
Class: Pirate Captain
Body Design:
If at all possible, I would like her face to be modded into a bit more of a pacific islander shape in the features, but if not a combo face mod of the Necromancer eyes and the Judging nose/mouth works fine too (see inside spoiler)
Though the human character herself comes with a lot of tattoos, they’d be lost under the costume so that’s a moot point ^-^; Instead I would like the sphinx version to be colored like her pony version (which I am rebreeding) on PI.
In her Land Version, her hair should be BLACK
In her Siren Version, her hair should be WHITE
Body is12E4B1
Markings are black/white combo as seen on pony below
Any cert/text adjustments?: Her species should read Polynesian only. If she could have a skull and crossbones as her background icon that would be great, if not I’d prefer her to have no symbol behind her if
Costume Design: (All references noted by letters, images found in spoiler with corresponding letter)
Hair: Kaimana’s hair is a combination of side/top traditional + fishtail braids which all come together in a fishtail braid (A). Her hair is very long - halfway down her rear in a humanoid form so this would need to be taken into account as the reference image depicts hair not quite that long. I would also like the braid to be brought over her back/far shoulder in sphinx form so we can see the details in the top of her hair and her costume. (Note - in case you go look up this style online, the images I pulled this from have the “complete” version with all the braids teased out on the skull. I do not want them teased out, I want them to remain well defined
Clothing:
Bottom: She wears cream colored breaches in image B (exact shade is open to your eye, whatever works best). Her boots are the style of C in a black leather (A note: all leather in this costume should be more or less matched in color).
Coat: Kaimana wears a modified coat (D). The lapels, collar, shoulders, and cuffs should all be black leather, the rest of the fabric is also black. The buttons (which I believe won’t be visible but I will still note) are pearl. On the reference image, you will see I’ve colored in some blue areas. Along these areas, pattern E should be applied all along the marked area and should be done in silver. On the back of the cloak should be symbol F in black outlined with silver.
I do not believe that her under clothes will be showing outside of the breeches and boots in a sphinx form, but just in case I will add links to what she wears under her cloak as well as how it fits under the cloak in the spoiler. They will not be images to not confuse anything
Items (if any):
Hat: Like any good pirate, she has a hat but I would prefer it to be off of her head and on the ground somewhere. Hat shape is A, feather selection (you choose) is B - feathers get changed out a lot so there is no wrong choice. Feel free to add other feathers if you feel inspired.
Necklace: Kaimana wears a necklace as pictured in C, however the metal should be gold and the main centerpiece should be a large pearl with the smaller turquoise beads on the sides remaining - note the chain is gold and would come out through the triangular parts so the pendant is horizontal as it is in the top image of C.
Weapons: She has two Polynesian knuckleduster style weapons as shown in D. These can also be somewhere on the ground
Map: Under her paws she would have a slightly larger than average old map of the pacific (E) - this does not have to be as detailed as the reference image obviously.
Jewelry: A string of natural pearls over her feet. Two pearl studs in each ear with a gold hoop between them (silky ears only)
Extras: A pile of 3 or so rolled scrolls, a small pile of treasure, some miscellaneous black and white pearls dotted around, a treasure chest or two (one opened, one closed perhaps), and a skull - These items aren’t afterthoughts, merely not in need of references. Each helps to further her look as a successful pirate… and siren

Added note: As said in the beginning, Kaimana’s character truly needs two versions of herself (which will of course be elaborated on below) - as for how they are displayed, two different cert versions would be fine or there could be an animation switch if you are feeling ambitious (think the mystic ninja poof between the two). Really anything you think would be fitting; her form changes when she is in the water.
Form (Part two): Background
(Skip the parts that you can't fill out.)
Character Profile
Name: Kaimana
Full Name: Kaimana Kahale
Pronunciation: Kai(eye)-mah-nah Kah-ha-lay
Meaning: Power of the Sea
Nickname: Kaimana the Siren, Temptress of the Seas
Race: Polynesian
Birthday: 25 Liha’mui (February 25)
Age: Appears around 30, is more around 60
Gender: Female
Class: Pirate Captian
Alignment: Anarchist (Palladium Alignment)
Appearance: Kaimana stands 5’9” (1.75m) with a strong build due to her life at sea. Her skin is tanned both from heritage and the sun. Her features reflect her Polynesian blood with her full lips, defined nose, and distinct eyebrows. Her hair is black and very thick, reaching well past her waist and halfway down her rear - though she rarely lets it flow free given her profession and instead styles it in various braids on her head and down her back. The most striking an unusual feature that Kaimana has is her eyes. Instead of the glittering and beautiful dark eyes of her people, Kaimana has the shining blue eyes of what appears to be a serpent. They are unsettling to say the least and make many wary of her. She dresses in practical and durable clothes though does allow herself a few vanities as far as jewelry goes and is quite fond of her pearl pendant she wears. She is never without her weapons, though they may not always be immediately visible on her person. She is a mystery and she prefers to keep it that way.
Family
Born in: The middle of the Pacific on a ship known as the Mana Tele
Parents: Mother was Luana (presumed deceased), father unknown (presumed deceased) - Savaada (adopted mother)
Siblings: Sister Noelani (presumed deceased)
Spouse(s): None - she does have a “cabin man” named Nohea
Offspring: None
Personality: Kaimana is a woman who knows what she wants and how to get it. Be it through piracy, seduction, gambling, or drinking someone under the table, she will take what is hers. She is proud, arrogant, and will not suffer fools - simply throw them into the sea where they might be reborn into something more useful. Her loyalty is to her crew and their loyalty is to her. They are her family and one must work very hard to earn her trust if they are coming in as an outsider. She dips her toes perhaps too often into extravagance, but she does work very hard for what she has… even if it is at the expense of those she steals from. At the same time, she does have a giving side and will give to those less fortunate or to impoverished port cities (though it comes with the added benefit of giving her a safe port with no questions asked when she needs it). She is also vehemently against slavery due to the circumstances of her birth and will destroy those she sees engaging in the practice on the seas. Being given the gift of the siren only aids her in her life and she does not hesitate to exploit the weaknesses of the men and women who fall under her spell.
Background: Kaimana was born during a storm to her mother Luana on the slave ship known as the Mana Tele. For four years she grew up in a cargo hold that had a constant ebb and flow of people within. Kaimana rarely was able to see her mother or her sister’s faces, but she could remember the way her mother sang to her. One day there was a violent storm and the Mana Tele sank with all of the crew and slaves it was carrying. Kaimana was only a child but as she sank toward the bottom of the ocean, arms came around her and her life was forever changed. Magic pulsed through her body and Kaimana’s small body shifted and transformed to adapt to its new environment - she had become a child of the sea, a siren. Her new mother Savaada took her to the colony and raised Kaimana as her daughter, teaching her the ways of the sea and how to navigate it. As Kaimana grew older though, she became more and more curious about her past, so she was given permission to once again go and walk on land.
At fifteen, she returned to land at one of the port cities and immediately found herself out of her depth. She was taken under the wing of a husband and wife - Akamu and Elei - who owned a cargo operation of ships and shops and began to learn the ways of the humans she had been born as. She lived a good life with but eventually after eight years, they passed and their true born children did not want to share their wealth or ships with Kaimana despite her being like a daughter to their parents. So, naturally, Kaimana decided to take what was her right as she had been taught by her siren mother and stole one of the ships and enough money to pay the crew. Armed with her knowledge of trade routes of many ships, she took the first steps into her life of piracy. It would not be long before she became something of a folk legend with the people whispering tales of Kaimana the Siren, the Temptress of the Seas.
Pivotal moments in the character's life
(List defining times in their background, stories or RPs)
(Just very short, one short sentence max, bullet points here. As many as you need.)
• Kaimana is born on the slave ship Mana Tele
• Remains secluded on the ship for 4 years in the cargo hold until massive storm hits and ship sinks
• Young, drowning Kaimana is rescued by a siren named Savaada who uses magic to transform Kaimana into a siren child
• Kaimana is taken to the siren colony Savaada is part of to be raised for the next eleven years
• As a siren, Kaimana is taught the two basic tenants of their society: ‘No one is entitled to anything, you must work for it’ and ‘Our people above all others’
• She spends time in the colony and sees the sirens go out and return with trophies of all sorts from attacks carried out. Around thirteen she begins to become suspicious of where these come from.
• Kaimana follows a hunting party out at night to find them reaving a ship and sinking it - she now understands that it was not a storm that sunk the Mana Tele, but the sirens attacking
• Struggling with the realization that her family had caused the death of her human mother and sister, Kaimana begins to dwell on what little she could remember during her early childhood.
• Though she eventually forgives Savaada and the others, her curiosity eventually leads her back to human civilization and she is given permission to go.
• She is shown the way to the human port of Palauahui where she is left by Savaada and the other sirens with no direction
• Kaimana struggles to survive for about a month off of petty theft until she meets the husband/wife duo of Akamu and Elei who take her under their wing
• Under their guidance, she is taught how to deal in trade and see to a shop, keep records and eventually they bring her out onto their ships to serve on the deck
• The young Kaimana finally finds a sense of belonging - back at sea, but with humans
• For eight years she absorbed everything she could from them and became quite skilled on ships and negotiating the sea
• Eventually, Akamu and Elei were lost at sea during another storm - Kaimana had no time to be suspicious as the couple’s true born children stepped in to take over all of the assets and cut her out.
• Reasoning with the children fails; in a frustrated state, Kaimana falls back to the teachings of the sirens and steals a ship as well as enough money to pay a crew from the children
• She names the ship Noelani after her sister and turns to a life of piracy - she had always heard the stories, and when push came to shove it was how the sirens had raised her.
• Kaimana quite quickly makes a name for herself - with her knowledge of trade routes and cargo ship operations, she is a prime predator for easy prey
• As her acquisitions grow, she eventually finds a new captain and crew for the Noelani to sail under her banner and name while she purchases a much larger and more well equipped ship, The Howling Delight
• Kaimana meets Nohea, a woman with magical influence who offers to serve as Kaimana’s Quartermaster - she accepts
• The Howling Delight builds a reputation as a devil’s omen, seeming to be able to appear out of thin air and her captain was somehow ageless
• Kaimana encounters the slave ship Manuhaku, it triggers her and blinds her with rage - she orders it destroyed
• Realizing she had also condemned the slaves aboard to die, Kaimana frantically orders them rescued - she herself takes to the seas and transforms into her siren form
• She rescues a man named Nohea from the sea and bonds with him immediately, he agrees to stay on board to tend to her needs and help out where he can
• The encounter with the Manuhaku serves as a turning point for Kaimana, she once again begins to take advantage of what she was given as a siren to further herself and her crew, luring in unsuspecting ships with her voice to more easily pirate their holdings
• This only serves to add to the mystique she and her ship have about them, she becomes known as Kaimana the Siren, Temptress of the Seas
• Rumors get out of hand, she becomes a bit of a folk legend in the small port cities - in those where the Howling Delight actually docks, she is greatly loved
• Kaimana continues to pirate, but rivals are on the horizon and not all are as they appear to be...

Anything else to say about the character?
Though she is “young”, Kaimana is well loved and I am very much looking forward to playing and writing her more. I think she will fit quite well into the sphinx world too and would be quite easy to write for here! :3 She is special to me as she is my first real pirate character despite my having loved pirates for a very long time… funny how that goes isn’t it.
Also, bonus, for another contest I had to write a little pirate diddy for her:
Heave!
Ho!
Heave!
Ho!
Come ye dogs, and I will tell ye a tale!
Ho! Ho! Heave HO!
Sail, sail, sail into the deep.
Away! Away!
Ye must make sure of the company ye keep.
Way hey!
Turn'n look, t'yer left and right
Right and left!
Else ye may be in fer a fright!
Eyy-ahh!
In the dead of night she sings
La-ah-ah!
And leads us away to a terrible t'ing!
Eyy-ahh!
Kaimana de Siren with her alluring voice
Ahhh...
Leaves us dogs with little a choice
Yes'm, yes'm!
But to follow her tune
La-ah-ah!
To our certain doom!
Eyy-ahh!
So beware de song of de Siren!
Heave Ho!
