The Battle for the Crook & Flail - Part 3
(most likely the last session)
(most likely the last session)
(OOC)
This is the official RP for 2019 that takes place two years earlier.
For the RP there will be different, separate sessions So feel free to use different sphinxes for each session, or skip a session, etc.
There are prizes for every session. Some may have more then others, but there is no special prize for being at every session... so no stress.
Nothing permanently bad will happen to your character (unless you wish for some temporary effect to stay, such as dying so you can use an undead item, etc). There will be danger and possible near death experiences, but nothing that will change anything on your sphinx. So feel free to play your favourite sphinxes in this.
Prizes will be able to be given to your other sphinxes or put into your inventory. So no worries about having to use a sphinx you want changes with... although feel free to play a sphinx you want to build up more. Of course there is nothing saying that the sphinx in the session doesn't get/use the prize themselves if you wish it.
You can play any sphinx or netjer, but other species weren't around for what happened two years ago.
I expect the character to be one who won't be purposefully disruptive to the story line. This takes away the fun from the other players who are working to solve the issues.
Why didn't your character from two years ago take place in this RP? Well... TIME PARADOX!! There are a ton of ways for your characters to have missed their opportunity, or possibly have had them wiped out from time paradox. Feel free to make up your own story of how it happened such as... they did do the quest but somehow it's all erased, they were shoved in a closet by some unknown person (there is something happening where a direct hand may have been played, but nobody was discovered/seen), they vanished from that point and didn't exist for two years with a timeline that only the current character remembers or forgot, the memories of the current sphinx changes, etc. The reasons can vary from character to character because time paradoxes are chaotic!
If there are a lot of people in the RP I can't always personally respond to every message posted, but I'll try to at least respond to a few in between my messages.
Any type of character is welcome and should have some purpose, even if small but the best for this session will be damaging types (warriors, offensive magic casters), healing (clerics, physicians) and especially anything good vs. undead. They haven't had much of a chance up until now, and this is the time to shine. ^_^
The only thing that I highly suggest against is using undead... you're going up against a necromancer after all.
What abilities do your characters have? The answer is whatever abilities that you think that they would have. Typically it falls into magic classes have magic, roguish classes are good with traps, etc. But hey, you could have your peasant with untapped 'phenomenal cosmic power' if it really suits their story. Basically, just good RPing and use your own judgement.
Session 3 may be a very long session, but I can't be sure.
I believe that covers the basics, so... let's get on with the RP shall we?

The time paradox from two years ago was nearly fixed... so very close now. It's fortunate that the sphinxes who showed temporal anomalies had been so brave and adventurous since this was turning out to be quite an ordeal. From what she saw when they were returned last time, this jump back into time was going to be dangerous, very dangerous. But the chornal dissidence has to be fixed dang it! She couldn't let temporal energy rip through these poor unsuspecting sphinxes. She had to find the right ones again.
With her pocket watch open Ranquillane walked through the streets searching for the correct energy. Eventually she stopped to look at your sphinx.
"Howdy. Yer probably familiar by now with what's been happening with the time fluxes. I have to break it to you but your chronal energy is a big 'ol mess and I need to try and fix it for you. Leaving this alone could be disastrous for you." the draconic sphinx has a very concerned look upon her face. "I need to take you nearly two years into the past to fix it... and it's a very dangerous place I'll be taking you. Very dangerous. But if y'all don't fix it, it could lead to a temporal flux, possibly a temporal implosion." she had a very serious look which relayed how dangerous this was going to be... whether you went or stayed behind.
"There's already been a group who helped fix their timelines and were mighty successful with that trip. Many have even gone back twice." the cowgirl reassures you "I want to help you. Are you willin' to take up arms and fix this?"

Sign up time!
To sign up post a picture of your sphinx or netjer (other races, such as satyrs, weren't around in that time) along with, bolded, "I'm ready." or "I'm not afraid." or something similar. This will be the character you will be playing for this session.
Roleplaying descriptions including the catch phrase are awesome, but not necessary for the sign up. BUT, I do expect RP posts during the game itself.
You have one hour to sign up from the time this is posted. If there aren't enough people, or somebody is 'very close' to being home I may extend the time a bit.
You may edit your post up to the time for sign ups runs out. If you were in the previous session feel free to play the same sphinx, or a different one.
If you sign up, try to be there for the whole RP. You can duck out early if you need to, but you'll miss some good stuff at the end.

(ETA)
The basic combat rules
(which are wibbly wobbly for the sake of the story)
~ Everybody will have 15 health. Certain actions from enemies will take away a health point (sometimes more). Enemy health varies.
~ If your character falls below 15 health they are down. You can have a number of things happen to them (your choice) they could just be unconscious (but not able to be healed right now), they could have 'died' because you've been waiting to use an undead item, they could have 'died' and be brought back to life by a cleric after the RP is over, etc. Whatever you want to do, but your character is 'down' from that point on. (You will still get and opportunity for end prizes, don't worry. ^_^ But you may miss out on a game or two for giveaways.. so be careful!)
~ Clerics, Physicians and similar classes can restore these points to one character at a time. Actual healing classes will be able to restore more (3) and non-healing classes with characters who can heal will be able to restore a little bit (1).
~ Clerics (and similar classes) can damage or make undead run away in groups! (again, if you have non-clerics who would have this ability, have at it but they may not turn as much.)
~ Magic classes (if your character has offensive spells) can toss spells to damage singular enemies, or even groups. If you are targeting groups be careful because if one of your allies are fighting the same creature it may damage them too! Damage for singular is 2, damage for groups is 1.
~ Fighting classes have a much easier time hitting! They will be able to do 2 damage per success and the numbers to roll to hit will be lower then those who are not fighting classes.
~ If you roll a natural 20, you get +1 more damage/healing/etc. then the listed amount for that action.
~ If your character would be able to do things outside of what they have listed for their class or I missed something important for a class, etc me know and they will have a weaker version of the ability, or an ability added for the missed class. (This could especially be true of level 3 classes.)
I can't keep track of everybody since there are a lot of characters, so I expect people to keep track of your own health. I trust you. ^_^
If I made any serious errors with these rules I may have to edit/change them during the event itself.
