So tired after circling the field all night while the others went into some weird passage.

*gingerly sidesteps Madoc's Verdimillious Charms*
Wowza it's cold here today! *begins thawing from the inside out with hot tea*
also hi! (-8 I've got a question of the day while I'm thinking about hot food... What's for dinner? I took out a chicken for Pooka so we can have something roasting in the oven to warm the place up, plus a yummy spatchcocked chicken, yum! (in a few days I've got a pork roast I'll be doing similarly to Wolfrysk's earlier recipe, also yum!)
*grabs certing tools and gets to naming and fancifying!*

We'll be having leftover beef curry. I plan to add some shredded cheese to mine.

It's pretty chilly here today too! But should hopefully warm up by the afternoon. For dinner? I think tonight we are going to celebrate my sister-in-law's birthday. I think we are going to Olive Garden. Its her favorite place to eat out. I do have some other meals already planned with sloppy joes on the menu for tomorrow as well as leftovers that need to be cleared.

Mmm, can't go wrong with beef and cheese, (-8 I've actually be craving that combo, along with some sorrel since the recipe contest! ...but, chanced of getting sorrel now after the frost are veeerrry slim and I might have to wait until next year now. (sliced beef, sorrel and a bit of cheese makes one of the most delightful sandwiches!)
It's warming a bit here (and should keep going back up for a few days at least) but it was downright freezing when I got up, like -10 C...
I've never been to an Olive Garden! I almost feel like I have, it seems to be the most mentioned restaurant on American tv shows (along with Cheesecake Factory, another place I've never seen/been!). When we do our road trip south (hopefully in 2 years, Pandemic willing) we'll have to try all of these spots, (-8

*hides in a corner* I admit that I am not a big fan of Olive Garden, but it's Rasa's fault. Her Italian tastes better than what I can get at the restaurant since it has to be mass produced. I did like the salad and breadsticks though.

We made Lentils and Ham last night for dinner. It shilling out now here. As for Olive Garden that was first place where I had Chicken Scampi. Before then I had only ever seen Shrimp Scampi, which I can't have.

To be quite frank, Olive Garden (in my opinion at least!) is pretty mediocre. Very much like all of the other standard "cookie cutter" national chain restaurants. I'd never been to one either until I met my sister-in-law. She loves the place. I, like Retta, have been spoiled with other really great sources for authentic Italian food and once you go to that realm its so terribly hard to settle for anything lesser. If anything it is an experience and is always nice to add to the resume on things you've done even if its only once in your life.

I envy all of you that are getting cooler weather now. We are getting cooler weather too, it’s 84F instead of like 90F something…. So woo progress? :’)
We are having lasagna for dinner tonight

*google converts 84F* Yikes! I'd be dying in that heat! *converts again* it was 14F when I woke up this morning and it's a balmy 30 atm! I figure if I could send you half of our cold, we'd take half of your heat and both be comfortable, (-8
and yum! everyone's got something good going on tonight, (-8 We don't really do restaurants for the reasons above... maybe once a year pre-covid and then Pooka usually just mentions how I could have prob made it better, (-8 (I sound so immodest, but I'd take my own homecooking over almost any restaurant!) The only real exceptions are getting food that's impracticable to make at home (like Sushi for Pooka)... (again pre-covid we'd pickup up some easy takeout Hamburgers once or twice a year, usually while out on a long drive, but I don't know if I think of that as 'going to a restaurant'?)
...but I do totally want to go to all of those places at least once, just for the experience, whether it's good or bad!
...also we've got a fine collection of cooks around here... I think that might have to be some event focus if we ever manage to get together sometime, (-8 (It's pretty tricky to come up with a taste test forum game!)
