Asterope's dark eyes scanned over the curriculum with a few of the courses piquing her interest immediately. She greatly anticipated the ability to learn more and fine tune her magical abilities. A year away was quite the commitment and she was hopeful the items supplied would suffice. Her mind then flashed to the lodging, "What kind of housing choices are there?" She asked with curiosity dancing on her tongue.

Takibi joined the crowd forming, still sneaking peeks at his letter as if he expected it to just disappear. He listened quietly to the various questions being asked with great interest and anticipation. However, try as he might, he couldn't even think of a question to ask. He was just left in state of silent wonder and awe.

Arabella was intrigued by all the new information on Widdershins. Hopefully she would be able to choose her classes and clean her new robes up before classes started.
"Professor... I heard that you can a part of different clubs or groups at this University. Is this true?"

Zen having woke to a letter about this Widdershins and never thought he had any type of magic but maybe it was a new calling for him, as he always felt out of place as a dancer someimes, even if he loved it he felt there was more out there for him. Looking around as other gather around who all seem to have gotten the same letter he smiles "oh this will be fun.." he looked at the professor lady and he looked over what classes there would be "Hmm well seems like there will be plenty to do thats for sure.." he looks around again "where are all the cute girls?"

Floras ears twitched as some chatter was growing louder from behind. She nimbly approached the growing group and parked herself by an owl in a cage. It looked happy and well treated. It also kind of gave her the feeling that it wasnt just an 'ordinary; owl.
'Right place, so says intuition. umm..will there be plenty of natural light for my little darlings in our accommodations?'
She was vague on purpose so as to not embarress herself in the event that her intuition may be off.

Flora could be seen in the background gently talking to another sphinx. She had a few potted plants with her as well as a few belongings. 'Yes hun, im proud of you--and ill always be available to iron out any problems that arise'-- she had a sort of crystal attatched in a pendant that faintly glowed, and while the craftsmanship was clearly from tati, the stone was not from these parts--'Sweetheart, Tati will be right there to help, and Kirah said she would bring the girls to visit too.--I have faith in you. It will be ok. YOU will be ok.' She smiled serenely and clasped her paw on the shpinxes shoulder. 'Theres a list behind the counter incase you forget anything. This isnt forever. Ill be back for Yule, just intime for the holiday rush' She gingerly held her potted flowers in her paws, a light bag with her essentials on her back...and a curious piece of parchment under her arm. 'Now..where was that spot...?' Magdalyn perked up when she witnessed another possible student nearing the small gathering. "Ah, hello. Are you here for Widdershins? Please come join us, we'll be leaving by portkey soon. I can tell by your plants that you may be very interested in Professor Flynn's classes on Herbology." Asterope's dark eyes scanned over the curriculum with a few of the courses piquing her interest immediately. She greatly anticipated the ability to learn more and fine tune her magical abilities. A year away was quite the commitment and she was hopeful the items supplied would suffice. Her mind then flashed to the lodging, "What kind of housing choices are there?" She asked with curiosity dancing on her tongue. "Another good question! The dormitories are located on the school grounds. There are four Houses... ah, not a live in house but more like a club or family that you are sorted into. Each of those Houses have two sets of dormitories and common rooms, one for the preparation school students, and one for the University students. The individual rooms are shared with one other member of your house." Arabella was intrigued by all the new information on Widdershins. Hopefully she would be able to choose her classes and clean her new robes up before classes started. "Professor... I heard that you can a part of different clubs or groups at this University. Is this true?" "How very astute of you. As I was just mentioning that there are four houses and each House has a particular quality they are looking for in their members. We have a way to figure out which house each sphinx would fit the best into so they can better bond with their housemates. We like to think of your House as being your family while at the school, you study together, eat together, compete together and generally work as a team. For what the houses and personalities of each is... well I'll save that for the sorting ceremony." Zen having woke to a letter about this Widdershins and never thought he had any type of magic but maybe it was a new calling for him, as he always felt out of place as a dancer someimes, even if he loved it he felt there was more out there for him. Looking around as other gather around who all seem to have gotten the same letter he smiles "oh this will be fun.." he looked at the professor lady and he looked over what classes there would be "Hmm well seems like there will be plenty to do thats for sure.." he looks around again "where are all the cute girls?" The Professor chuckled at the question. "Well, there isn't a rule against fraternizing at the school, but the male and female dorms separated and they are not allowed into the opposite gender's rooms. There are social events such as dances and get togethers to meet 'cute girls' if you are so inclined." Floras ears twitched as some chatter was growing louder from behind. She nimbly approached the growing group and parked herself by an owl in a cage. It looked happy and well treated. It also kind of gave her the feeling that it wasnt just an 'ordinary; owl. 'Right place, so says intuition. umm..will there be plenty of natural light for my little darlings in our accommodations?' She was vague on purpose so as to not embarress herself in the event that her intuition may be off. "Oh yes of course! There are many places to keep your dear plants, but I will suggest the greenhouse that Professor Flynn keeps for both classes and personal use of the students." she gave a knowing look "I think I can already tell which House you'll wind up in."

He was just left in state of silent wonder and awe. The Professor noticed Takibi and waved him over towards the group. "Don't be shy, I can see that you have an acceptance letter. Are you all ready to travel to Widdershins? It will be quick since I have a magical means to port us there in an instant."

Iris stumbled her way towards where the message had told her to go. She was still confused as to why it had come to her. She shook her head. Only months before she had been a pony and then magic and weirdness and portals had pulled her from home to another world and her form changed. It took her some time to get used to it here in this form. She had lost her horn but, not so much her innate magic. She had once been a Kirin. Now she was what this world called a Sphinx. She looked around at the others gathered. She did not know anyone here. She stayed near the back. She accepted the list passed around and found a few things she had some interest in. Perhaps she could do this. As long as she kept her head down. She was not good with being the center of attention. She sure missed her Forest back home and her animal friends there. She sat quietly watching the others and listening to the talk.

Flora blushed slightly and released a bit of inner built up anxiety. Her curiosity was at its peak, and while she may not know these new terms yet she was certainly learning.
The flowery female made sure what she had brought was secure, after putting the piece of parchment in the bag. It sounded like teleportation. She had learnt of it from their good friends from Eberron but had never experienced it herself. Nor had she visited. This would really be the first time out of Ahket.

The Professor Shadowstone looked over the group of gathered, curious sphinxes. "I believe that should mostly cover initial queries, any other questions will be mostly answered by attending the school itself. So let's port to the school and let you attend the sorting ceremony to find your Houses." With those words she promptly gathered up her books and remaining notes to place them easily into a rucksack far too small for that stack of books. Then from it she pulled out a long, wrapped up pole or staff of some sort... again, something impossible to have been able to fit into her bag. "Ah, here we are, the portkey. It only works during the Hunter's Moon, or at least during the same day and night. When I unwrap it you have but a few seconds to touch it and hold on before it ports everybody away, along with it. We shall arrive in the Widdershins' grounds within a few blinks of an eye once we start." She began to unwrap the staff, a long spiral pole topped by a small carving of a barn owl. She was careful to only touch the wrapping cloth and not the staff itself. "So, everybody gather in closely, and when I count to three you can touch the staff and hold on tightly! I also should warn you that this sensation can give a 'bit' of discomfort, but it's fast travel." Shadowstone holds the staff out still touching it through the cloth. "On the count of three touch the staff.... 1... 2.... 3." she drops the cloth and holds onto the staff with her bare paw, quickly calling out to those who may not have touched it to hurry! The world whips and spins around you and there is a feeling like being pulled by a hook in your navel with a sensation of queasiness. It only lasts a brief few seconds before you find yourself tumbling back onto the grassy courtyard of what seems to be a very large, sprawling castle. Welcome to Widdershins's School of Magic!

(wait...acceptance letter? So was that something from the Heb?) It was posted in the General Thread as a preview a few days ago. It was the early days of Peret (growing season) and on this night the gibbious moon hung high and bright in the dark sky. On silent wings numerous owls, many of an exotic and foreign species, arrived with letters grasped firmly in their beaks and claws. Here and there around Ahket the owls dropped letters on doorsteps or even directly in front of it's intended readers. These recipients seemed to be sphinxes with an emerging knack or potential for the magical arts. (Unknown to those in Ahket these letters were arriving in different lands as well, such as Lamoria and Katterheim. )
Curiously the letters were directly addressed to the sphinxes who received them and could be opened to find the following enclosed...A second letter was included which gave varying instructions depending on where the sphinx who received the message lived. For those in Ahket it was to meet with a 'Professor Magdalyn Shadowstone' near the needle statue that predominantly depicts owls upon it in the Great Park, no later then the 20th (or, in four days time from the delivery of this letter). She shall use a portkey for travel to the country of Albion to attend the school.
