Uhm... hello! Feel a bit nervous posting here, but I'm excitedly awaiting the next event. ^^ Not actually related, but I have begun doing some research into ancient Egypt for character development; I'm currently reading through Salima Ikram's Ancient Egypt: an Introduction, which is free to read on the Internet Archive if you make an account and check it out. (Though wait til I'm done with it <.<) I'm taking a lot of notes! Once I'm through with ancient Egypt I want to explore pre-Roman Ireland, Scotland and Wales, particularly their mythology, and then faerie lore. If anyone has any suggestions... I'm interested! Hiya Dreamweaver and welcome! (-8 Depending on what and how you are interested in studying about ancient Egypt I've got a few recommendations! There is of course a ton of non fiction books and manuals but the most fun place to start in my opinion might be almost any book by Pauline Gedge. Child of the Morning and House of Dreams are some of my absolute favorite books! They are fiction, but very very well researched speculative historical fiction that really can absorb you into the time/setting and give you a sense of living in the days of Hatshepsut, (-8 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pauline_GedgeThe only book of Her's I didn't really like was Stargate (which the media franchise is loosely built around). I have an announcement! The Heb will be starting on May 21rst. (Barring any other serious RL interruptions.) I'm so sorry about the delay this year, things have been happening that we have no control over, and wanted to ensure that we were focused to make the Heb as fun as possible. Dreamweaver Hi and welcome! I love ancient Egypt too (duh, being that I started the adoptable) and couldn't help but make a setting that is sort of a fictional fantasy-based Egypt. In our sphinx world we have more countries detailed and RPed in... sometimes introduced during the Heb, or other special event. (Heb is Khemetic for 'festival', so we call our yearly big event the 'Heb~Bastet' or Bastet Festival.) Although even with expanding the world more, Khemet, and it's capital Ahket are the main focus/hub/base for our plots and stories. Usually we start the Heb in mid April every year, but this year it was pushed back a bit (I believe that this is only the second time ever this has happened in 15 years!) due to some RL problems and interruptions for us. When the Heb is going it's pretty big and takes a lot of focus for the team, so we couldn't schedule it around so many pauses that are happening for us this year. I look forward to having you around, and hopefully you'll dive right in and take part in the Heb this year. We're still waiting on a few things and have some appointments that may force a day off here and there. But come hell or high water we're going to do everything in our power to start this on the 21rst! A fun side note, for a short time Captains Alexia and Karen had a ship called 'the High Water'. It was a originally run by devil worshippers (and included some actual devils) that the pair of them stole the ship from (after dispatching the evil, evil occupants). When they had the ship squbbed (re-fixed it up) it needed a new name so they called it 'the High Water' due to it's past. ^_^ tierasaNifty dice! And really, really cute pony! Eeeee! There are so many PI people on here who are great at coming up with good pony designs. |

I can't think about Love Shack without remembering that. True story.
Gizmo and Yuki need to go to the vet on the 21st. Puppy check for breeder and blood work for gizmo to see if it's safe to use the flea tick stuff. Hopefully I can reserve a good part of the day. I'll be darned if I miss the traditional first rush ^^
Boys might be working on the backyard with tilling and stone laying so I'll probably have to set up a pen for Yuki🐶

I'm working on a pile of projects simultaneously today but I'll try to sneak in some sort of 'Mr. Pooka style' preview later this evening, (-8 (I guess I read 'Mr. Pooka style' preview as working super hard to give the most misleading/out of context preview I can... but now that you know that, will the reverse logic out my sneakiness? ...rereads the warning label on the iocane powder looking for insight... hummmm)
also ST:SNW is still awesome, (-8 I'm loving every second!
...and idk if anyone else is or would be interested, but the new season of The Kids in the Hall has been super awesome! ...that being said, most of the reviews seem to be split between people who are familiar with the original and new viewers who will miss the 'in jokes' and weird new characters... ...but that made me think why the weird characters were compelling in the first place? Maybe your brain just has to be a tiny bit askew to see the humor?
I've also been slightly obsessed with watching all the slow mo guy videos and this was the cutest thing I've seen in a while..
