Welcome to 2022! We've got some very big plans for Sphinxes this year! There's one project we've been working on for months now that I'm eager to share but am still still setting up a few things in the background. Something unconventional... ...and Pooka's already working on this years Heb, (-8 It's probably to early for to many hints or previews but I think the theme will totally satisfy and hit some awesome notes! Last night we popped open some festive crackers. My family usually did them around Christmas/Yule but we opted for New Years Evening instead this year. (by opted, I totally mean I forgot I bought them, (-8 but the Google Doodle inspired us to use them for New Years instead.) Besides a collection of colourful crowns, which I love and send me back to childhood holidays, we did get some of the dreaded and horrible jokes... which I'm happy to share with you now, (-8 Where is the Ocean the deepest?
The Bottom.
Why did the chicken say, "Meow, oink, bow-wow and moo?"
She was studying foreign languages.
...and my fav of the bunch! What do you get when you cross a snowman with a vampire?
Frostbite!

Ah, also last year I started playing with crypto currencies... and was curious if anyone else was interested in the topic? I'm certainly not getting rich anytime soon, but I did manage to double all my investments in a half a year and see lots of (risky!) potential... If there is anyone interested in the topic I'd be happy to share what I've learned and I'm happy to take advice from anyone else who may have been poking around and maybe start a different thread for the conversation.

Ah, the new year jokes ☺️ and new thread smell! If you don't mind, I want to copy / paste my message from the 2021 thread. 💕 It was kind of posted just before this one was created and it's got something that is really important to me with hope it gets seen. ~~~~ I mentioned this in the discord but I want to also add this here. My little sister didnt know how to draw a year ago. like, we are talking stick figures. Over the course of the past year shes slowly learning how to draw and shocked me by showing me a website with the things shes done that you can get as a mug/shirt/throw/you get the idea. Its in a cute chibi style and you can see how shes improved with each character. Ill be probably doing a few things for that site as well. If you want to put a request in, send me a PM (no personal characters/official licenced stuff obviously. Im a 'bit' more experienced then my sister (>>) so can do different styles) Please, please check this out and spread the word. Even if you arent interested, if you know someone that is, share it. Go through social media (because the MA is old school and doesnt do social media)/ Shes just getting started. gachibi.com/

...and Cobra Kai is still awesome, (-8 My only critique of the show is that it needs about 72 more episodes and only 2 week breaks between seasons, (-8

Champaign and Mojitos for Pooka, but Sprite was my fancy drink of choice, (-8 (no new years hangovers for me!) ...and I'm super pumped for this year's Sphinx projects, *is already working...*
Each season of Cobra Kai is just plain good watching, (-8 great story, just the right amount of nostalgia and likeable (and hateable) characters with interesting story arcs! totally a binge-able show and over to fast, (-8 Fun fact cuz I was looking, but apparently Season 5 is already done filming and only needs editing before it gets released (which could still take forever, but guesstimations seem to be early summer? I can hope!)
...and I'm also happy to have a new Dexter to watch... another show revival that has been extremely well done so far!
Oh and the other thing we checked out while working (TV makes ok background noise for many art projects here, (-8) is Star Wars the Bad Batch... This one had a sort of backdoor pilot in the Clone Wars last season but I didn't really care for those episodes tbh... so I wasn't looking forward the Bad Batch, but as we needed something to watch I figured I'd give it a shot but it caught me right away and is actually quite excellent! It does not skimp on the Star Wars lore and jumps right in with a lot of very very cool plots and neat cameo/crossovers! I'd super recommend this one for any Star Wars fans, (-8

*drags in a bunch of pillows, sets them up, flops on them, breaks out the s'mores makings and stretches* Shiny new thread. Yay! New Years eve for me was spent here at home...after I worked my usual shift at work and just wanted to go home because it was a nightmare. Once it hit 2pm on the clock, I was taken off register, I was GONE! I dropped my money in the safe, grabbed my stuff, handed over the slip, clocked out and got out of there. Got home and mom ran out to pick up dinner, which consisted of lobster and shrimp. It was good. We watched the Nashville New Year's bash, then the 11pm news, then back to the Nashville thing. Of course at 11:55, I turned it back to ABC and the Dick Clark's Rocking New Years Eve bash. Mom and I got our sparkling cider and counted down. Between the two of us, we managed to split the bottle of sparkling cider, so there wasn't any left over. Saturday, yea, I had to work. Would have been nice if the company would have given us the day off, but...nope...no New Years Day off for us. So I went in as normal, we didn't open for breakfast until 8am and it was extended to 11am, then we switched to lunch. Normally we do breakfast til 10:30 and then transition to lunch. So there was five of us running the store, we didn't open the front because of that, so it was drive thru only. We had a normal start to the lunch time with a bit of a normal rush, but then by around 1 it slowed down and then it was dead. So I restocked what I needed to in the corner, then went to the dining room and just...straightened chairs, straightened tables, picked up any trash that might have been left on the floor from the previous night because night crew was lazy and didn't bother to get it...and if we got a car, I just got back to the corner, got the order in and did my normal. Around 2:30, the manager of the day got me off the register, let me drop the little amount that I had collected, then for the rest of my shift, I was coordinating for her. I managed to have the orders bagged and ready for her to hand out and as soon as it hit 3 on the clock, I was saying 'okay, your orders are bagged and in order, have a good night' and she was saying 'thank you, have a good night'. I grabbed my stuff and clocked out. Made a quick stop at Walmart and came home. I managed to not crash when I got home, which was nice. I did actually get to watch the Fancy Brigades perform too!! The Mummers Parade was postponed yesterday due to the rain, but since the fancy brigades perform inside, they could still be shown. Wow were they great!! There were only four that didn't catch my fancy(pun totally intended), but the rest of the groups were great. They even had a vote on the channel's site where views could vote for a fan favorite. I didn't vote right away, I wanted to wait for the entire thing. The last group to go was Saturnalian who did a 'visions of China' theme. Out of all the groups, they were the only one that me going 'oh WOW!!' throughout their entire routine. Yup, they got my vote. When I checked the results earlier this afternoon, I saw they had won the fancy brigade division! I was so happy!! The Mummers Parade itself took place today. Didn't get to watch it because...mom doesn't care for it *shrugs* oh well. I've been down to Philadelphia twice to see the parade in person and it was really fun getting to see it. Would love to do it again. Okay, those jokes were pretty good. Here's one for you Mr. PookaWhat do you get if you cross an elephant and a rhino? *shrugs* elephino (get it? elephino...hell if I know XD)

Ah, yea that is a good one. Although...have you heard about the Viking who was good at telling what the weather was going to be? Yea, you see back when Vikings were around, there was one named Rudolph the Red. He was so good at forecasting the weather that the others would consult him to see if it would be good for sailing or hunting. One day he got married and the village celebrated. The next morning he got up and stepped outside. "Looks like rain today." he said. His new wife, who had heard him, came up beside him and looked to the sky. "How do you know?" she asked. With a grin, he looked to her and said 'Because Rudolph the Red knows rain dear'.

Seems to be snow and cold all over the place, especially where it not usual, these last couple of years. Conversely last year it was one of the mildest and snowless winters I've ever seen this far north... I mean we had snow, but barely a few feet total and most of it came in only two big snows. I think I only shoveled the drive 2 or 3 times last winter and didn't have to shovel the roof at all? ...but now I need to head out of town for some shopping but it's been put off for a few days due to a pretty big snow storm we're expecting! idk what this weather this year is gonna bring!? (and we've got some pretty strict lockdowns and restrictions going on anyways so not much reason to leave the house anyways, no matter the weather, which is fine with me, (-8)
