Pets!
Pets, Creatures, Familiars, Animals and Companions come in many many shapes and sizes and are a fun way to add character and flavour to your Sphinxes! The vast majority of pets are intended to be added to Sphinx certs with the only exceptions to that being Horses (and related, like Pegasus) and Adult Terrorbirds due to their larger sizes (though both may be added to larger dragon certs!).
Pets may be many things from simple animals to personal familiars to spirit guides to eternal curses! Some of the more magical creatures may be intelligent (or bear some level sapience or intuition as your RP heart desires) and even a simple Rat familiar might have a trick or two.
All Pet templates have the option of being created as Aesops, which changes their cert and makes them a playable character like a Sphinx that cannot be attached to an owner. You can find more about Aesops HERE (link coming soon!). Dragon pets may also be created as Dragon characters (changing the cert from AC to D) and follow similar rules as Aesops.
Most pets are limited to a single version of it's type on a cert. (for example you may only have one Falcon or Heb 12 cat on your Sphinxes cert.) This is a very hard rule but occasionally we bend this rule if the type of pet works or we can make it artistically flow appropriately. (some pets like fairies lend themselves well to multiples.)
Many pets come with a standard colour. You can purchase a pet item for your inventory which can later be used to get a Standard coloured version of that pet. (for example, if you purchased a fox from Satiah's shop or won a pet fox, it will get you a standard coloured Fox.) Most pets are templated for colouring and during Customs you may order different coloured pets (see the Main Customs post for details!).
Some pets do not come with a standard colour and are not usually available as a token/item and can only be purchased during customs, won in a game or purchased precoloured from a shop. Sometimes precoloured standard pets are also available in games and in the shop.
Some pet varieties are very limited and only available at certain times or during special events or as very rare store purchases.
All pet templates are available for Alt Cert options for a variety of RP reasons, such as were creatures and magical transformations.
