And wow. Power is not our friend here. We lost it twice today. TVA implemented rolling black outs to ease strain on the system. They've called it back off for now. Yup yup! And then we still had an hours-long blackout right after the rolling one....so that was super fun! Our local news did mention they're looking at yet another rolling blackout during Christmas Morning so....there's that. |

Gosh this holiday is just sucking all of my time! Lol nothing like last minute preparations to host the family I hope you all are enjoying yourselves this weekend whether you are celebrating Christmas or not.  Congrats to everyone who won recently! Mr. Pooka do you have any sense on how long the shop will be open? asking for a friend who may not have any available funds until after the first |

Merry Christmas! ^_^ What are people doing today? We're probably going to sit back and binge watch Alice in Boderland season 2. Goodish news! Mr. Pooka set up an older computer for me to use for now (my computer is probably unsalvageable). I'm going to have to order a new one but for the moment I can at least get a few things done online. ^_^ I checked my recent back ups and I only lost a few things from the computer breaking.  Thank goodness I backed up a bunch of folders a month ago, this could have been much, much, MUCH worse! Also, thank goodness for boxing day sales! I'm going to see if I can set up my tablet on this computer to try and get some art done.

Happy Christmas! Retta and I are going to binge watch Christmas movies while I make a ham and some other deliciousness. We had Christmas dinner with our family yesterday, but we always have a mini one just for ourselves too.

That being said, there's no one who's currently reading this that I wouldn't be happy to do/add/make your stuff early and you can send funds whenever it's good or convenient, especially with holiday schedules. We're used to power failures up here, but ironically we're fairing better than a lot of places this particular storm. What did you end up making for sides tierasa? The rolling power outages were a major concern while cooking yesterday. We ended up over an hour late to get to our parents'. We ended up with deviled eggs as they're a family tradition. We also made green bean casserole, honey-glazed baby carrots, sauteed broccoli (that ended up smelling like Chinese food), and some mac and cheese. My niece is pregnant and craving dairy so I made a big batch that way she'd have plenty to take home. I also made some garlic parmesan roasted red potatoes that were delicious! Everything went over really well, and there wasn't much left over. EDIT: Is the Elf on the Shelf Scout game done as well? |

Mom and I got up and watched the Disney Christmas Day parade and opened gifts and now we've just been watching Disney movies. We played a card game a little bit ago while sipping on homemade eggnog. We have the prime rib in the oven right now and the whole house smells sooooo gooooood. Blake also got some gifts, so he had fun.
Glad you got a computer up and running Pooka!

Everything sounds delightful Rasa, and Angel, (-8 I haven't had deviled eggs in like... way to long and I love them! Blackouts and cooking never mix... I've made some creative meals without electricity. (I made tea with our fondue pot last time!)
I know I mentioned once, and these blackouts will be over before you know it, but if we keep getting worse/unpredictable weather in the coming years and this keeps happening I'd totally recommend a portable battery (I kind of love my Jackery and am happy to flog them! There might be some better ones out there but none beat their ease of use and super convenience.)
I think there's no seasonal reason for the elf to go hiding again so I'll resolve the rolls for that soon, (-8 I loved doing that one... I think it was pretty tricky and had to drop a few helpful hints to get the snowball rolling on that game... sneaky sneaky elf...
