*catches up*
I've been working on a pretty big custom today and yesterday... and I loose track of time deep in the brush forests and layer dimensions of photoshop... plus it's been warm enough to need hooking up our air conditioner. ...nothing but hot and dry in the forecast here!
On that topic, for the curious, all of the smaller forest fires that may have blocked the nearby highways are safely out, as is the one across the lake! ...now the really big one up near where I like to go fishing is even bigger than last time I mentioned it and is still raging along... *continues to keep eye on fire map*
...and some random media notes... From continues to be a treat and is one of the scariest shows I've watched since the Haunting of Hill House and super worth a watch. Never Have I Ever continues to be a treat and I'll miss it when we've worked our way through the last season.... and I know we have a few Viking Fans out there and for you I'd heartily suggest checking out Vinland Saga. You may feel that an anime couldn't keep pace with that level or type of story telling but you'd be mistaken! It's super outstanding!

I tried watching Vinland Saga but it unfortunately couldn't hold my attention for very long ^^; But I loved the last season of NHIE! I can't believe it's over. Netflix has been serving me videos of the cast saying goodbye and it just makes me so sad :')

I really really enjoyed Vinland Saga! ...though, you do have an interesting point Sio, the first season didn't really hook me solidly right away. There's lots of violence and it's hard to root for the main character... but the story and character really grows and the second season is almost a drama vs fight after fight... I'd super recommend it!
...though if you need a total tone shift while still technically being a historical fiction I'd also recommend another of my absolute faves! Thermae Romae Novae is ridiculous and hilarious with some really fun culture comparisons between Roman and Japanese Bathing/Onsen culture! I really can't say to much without spoilers but I laughed and enjoyed the heck out of it, (-8
I also found NHIE way to short for my liking, but really enjoyed it, (-8 I kind of love almost everything Mindy Kaling touches (except perhaps the Office... I never could get into that even though everyone seems to love it...). I'm also looking forward to a third season of The Sex Lives of College Girls (which is a real show title, google it... or perhaps carefully google it... (-8) also...
...and it's a super relief to have a couple of those fires out Operetta! We basically live in the forest with literally only two ways to get out of town, both of which are also all through the forest so when fires are near both of your only ways out of town it can start to feel a bit like a trap!

I think I'm closing in on catching up with all of the customs (one left) and refashionings (just a couple!) (-8 Once that's cleared up I'll start on the trading season mails... then perhaps a last call for any more customs and refashionings! I think the trade PMs have started to slow, so I'll probably close that soonish, once I'm all caught up, so if anyone has any last minute trading or haggling now is the time.
...then I'm starting work on our next big event, (-8 I've been back and forth on whether to share teaser...

I'm glad to hear that some of the fires have been put out! We were starting to even get some smoky haze swept down as far as even here in Kentucky. Been thinking about you guys, that stuff is always scary when it's so close to your home. You've got me pretty intrigued about From, we might have to check that one out! -eyes emoji- Gonna need to get Prime for when Good Omens season 2 drops, and we still need to finish watching Carnival Row, so it could be a good time to add it to the list! Right now we've been watching the latest season of Black Mirror, we only have one episode to go! It's been good!  And we watched The Last of Us through not too long ago, which was most excellent. (Right now we're also on a re-watch of The Magicians, the musical episode is the best, man) We did also check out Wolf Pack, which was pretty cheesy but fun! Got all caught up on Sweet Tooth and Shadow and Bone. And there's so many MORE shows coming out soon, it's hard to keep track of them all lol! (Witcher, What We Do in the Shadows, Good Omens, we also want to watch Yellowjackets eventually...) Annnnd just had to share this gorgeous work Mr. Pooka delivered today, she turned out perfect! ;o; I was originally going to try for a Mer Kelpie but when I got the green light on the shark sha tail, I knew what I wanted to do. xD I love her so much!   Myrkur is Icelandic for "darkness" and I was aiming for a pretty kelpie who lures people into the inky black depths of the lake. (also an excellent Scandinavian dark folk/black metal artist) |

Happy Summer Solstice and (here in Canada) National Indigenous Peoples Day!
I'm working on my last custom and have one last refashioning, then I'm caught up with both! Pooka's all done customs for this event and is ready to enjoy a well earned Pokemon break, (-8
I'll be adding an open ended amount of semi customs soon as well... I'm happy to take as many requests as there is demand! The only limit will be a set number of mer and djet. I am going to clear up any trade and certing PMs before I start work on the last batch to make sure I'm not missing any refashioning requests hidden in there. (I think I've got 2 or 3 pages worth!)

The first season of From is easily a 10/10 and is very very scary with a perfect amount of mystery, and I highly reccomend it! (-8 The second season has also been very good so far! ...if I have one worry about this type of show it is that they'll just keep adding more mysteries and never solve anything or go super off the rails like Lost... but so far I'm all in. I'm also looking forward to Good Omens, (-8 it'll be fun to see how they expand it beyond the books! (Pooka's also super excited... she's been recommending the novel to anyone who will listen for the last 20 years! ...ah, and the second season of Carnival Row and the last season of Black Mirror are still on my list... so many fun shows atm it's hard to pick what to check next... I agree with your Wolf Pack notes, (-8 (recommend but not exactly a classic... hopefully they go deeper though cuz I can never get enough werewolves!) I'm probably in the minority when it came to the Last of Us... everyone seems to like it but, idk... it kind of felt like every other zombie show/movie with the same plots, same hazards and same story mistakes as every other show/movie like it.... also, maybe I'm to old to care for annoying cursing millennials who we're supposed to root for but would rather see get eaten by mushroom zombies, lol. ooo, and a spoiler for a real spoiler! don't peek if you don't want a minor Last of Us plot point spoiled!
So, the characters will literally murder like 5 humans for a can of 20 year old zoodles, but then a scene later drive by a herd of buffalo with guns on their laps but don't bother stopping for some food because it sets some sort of mood? I mean they are happy to hunt deer and rabbits later, but I guess... There's a bunch of common sense mistakes that drive me nuts on this one!
The second season of Sweet Tooth was just as good as the first, (-8 (and I will still happily recommend the original comics!) I'll also say with a comfortable educated guess that Yellowjackets will totally be your cup of tea Cryptic, (-8 (I think it gets even better in the second season!) |

Y'know, I never did watch Lost so I won't have that to compare it to, but the trailer for From is compelling for sure! Paranormal horrors and psychological thrillers are my favorite and this seems to be in that ballpark! I'm also quite curious about how Good Omens will go, because the teaser trailer didn't really expose any kind of plot I could glean. Makes me wonder what is hiding! xD Wolf Pack, yes! I hope so, too. Plus the werewolves are actually super cool in this one. As far as I know Sarah Michelle Gellar is in talks for possibly continuing the show so maybe we'll be in luck! GOOD werewolf content is so hard to come by, I swear. ;v; Hahaha that's fair for TLOU honestly. XD I've been a long time fan of the games so it was exciting to see a very good adaptation be made! Plus the zombie designs and Pedro Pascal were both great. Don't talk to me about episode 3, I cried. Having had a lot of background stuff with the games already endeared me to the characters long before the show, so for me it was a very fun ride but I can see the other side of it, too, lol! Definitely good to know re: Yellowjackets, we're SO curious. And Sio your gal is so pretty! Absolutely love how soft she is. |
