War in the Warren Game 4
Storytelling held a very important place in the hearts and spirits of the Rabbit Tribe.
--------------------------------------------------
Write a story for the Rabbit Tribe! There are no real rules for what you want to write... it could be as long or as short as you like. It could be a morale tale, or an epic about a great hero. It could be done in song... the creative choice is all yours. (while there is no rules, personally I'd vote for something thematically appropriate, so, say a Haiku wouldn't get my vote for this contest just because!)
PM your entries to Mr. Pooka within 24 hours of this post. (please title your PM with the contest title so I don't miss it!)
After the deadline I will post all of the entries anonymously in another thread with a voting poll. The winner shall receive another Rabbit Tribe member with bunny traits and their choice of a any job upgrade listed in game three for that Sphinx, (-8
(I won't be voting unless there is a tie for a winner than I'll break the tie!)
-----------------------------------------
Here are our entries! Please take a moment to read them and then pick your favorite! Thank you everyone for entering and voting, (-8

Entry 1
In the earliest days of the Rabbit Tribe, the Sun God lived amongst us and led with firm kindness. However, he feared causing us injury and pain and kept himself apart from the tribe, only meeting with a select few when needed.
When we were attacked by our enemies, the Sun God rode forth to defend us, but our warriors could not fight beside him for his brightness and power burned them, causing pain to both us and our enemies. But one warrior remained by his side, fighting our enemies despite the immense pain he was in. When the battle was won, the warrior fell beside the Sun God, his body completely blackened from the Sun God's power.
The Sun God knelt beside the fallen warrior and asked, "Why did you not retreat alongside the others?"
"Because I am a warrior of the Rabbit Tribe," the warrior replied simply.
The Sun God nodded his understanding. The warrior had chosen his path, and he could only ease his passing. After that day, the Sun God retreated into the sky so that he could continue to watch over our tribe without causing harm to any of our people, and those with black markings are said to be the chosen of the Sun God in honor of that warrior from many years ago.

War in the Warren Game 4
The Tale of the Bunnies in the stars
Long ago in times before gods Two were born one Black one White Small and frail these two A soul of Darkness and a Soul of light
Light loved to run in the field Dark loved playing by the woodland Unknown to both their Fates were sealed For something would come for them
It came in the night to hunt It came to the tribe to rend and bite Dark saw it's approach and raised the alarm Light woke and joined in the fight
Dark struck out with strong hind claws Light tried a head but technique Dark was thrown with giant jaws Light picked up and flung
The fight was long and Many died Light and Dark fought valiantly In the end it was chased away Though reminded of their mortality
Dark heaved a sigh and laid down his head Light wept and laid down beside The soft green leaves their final bed Their job well done.
The gods in the stars looked down These brave souls who gave their Life a choice was made they would be renown Their souls drawn upward
Into the sky they were taken constellations they would be A reminder forever more Heroes in the stars for all to see

Entry 3
Far from home the eagle flew high in the sky, a storm had blown him away from his nest and now he had no idea where his nest was. He finally landed in a panic next to a rabbit who feared for her life. He looked around trying to figure out how he could get himself back to his nest. He looked so fearful that the small rabbit finally spoke up “Eagle what is wrong?”
The eagle turned to look at the rabbit and though he normally would never have spoken to a rabbit and much less asked for help he recalled words he had once heard about never being to prideful to ask for help and so he finally spoke “I was blown away from my nest during a storm and now I do not know where I am. How do I get back to the lands of the Eagle?”
The rabbit was thoughtful “You have blown far and are in the lands of the Rabbit. Come though I know which way to go and I will happily show you the way.”
She gestured for him to follow and he took to wing to follow her from the sky. There were many weeks and trial to overcome, but together they over came the troubles. Eagle slowly became impressed by the rabbit’s ability to solve problems and rabbit was impressed by how Eagle’s skill when it came to fighting. Finally they came to the border and Eagle realized they were close to his nest.
He thought for a long moment “move to here. I want to repay your kindness and guard you for the rest of your life.”
Rabbit smiled and nodded “I wish to have more long talks with you. This journey was made more delightful by your side.”
Eagle looked thrilled “I shall wait for you then here as my nest is nearby.”
So it was that after the long journey Rabbit and Eagle dwelled side by side helping, supporting and protecting each other. For they had learned the value of each other’ strengths.

Anansi in the World
This a children’s myth and legend as told by the elders and parents of young kits from the Rabbit Tribe. A bed time story!
Long, long ago, there was once a young rabbit named Anansi who was a part of the Rabbit Tribe. During those times, there was not as many resources as there were now, so the tribe was always moving. They traveled and settled—only to gather up all of their belongings to find a new place with resources. Sadly, over time, the tribe slowly became accustomed to the slow, and bleak invasion of hunger and exhaustion from an infertile and desolate landscape.
Anansi was born when the tribe was particularly in a dire spot. He was young and he was small. And although he was small, he was remarkably fast. So fast, that the tribe called him fleet foot as he could run miles and miles—swift as the wind!
This young hare was pretty smart, however. After many months with dwindling supplies and hunger at the tribe’s heels, he knew that his family would not last much longer. But Anansi knew the answer. He would go in search of help.
Anansi went to the west go meet the Orcas, but they were not interested in the troubles of the land dwellers. Anansi hopped north to the white Bears of the north, but they only wanted to slumber. Anansi kindly asked the Foxes towards the east, but they only laughed in his face. “Silly little rabbit!” They cried. And lastly, among an unsuccessful string of encounters, the Owls in the south, in their infinite wisdom told him to return home to his family—there were no answers here.
Troubled and discouraged, Anansi hopped home towards the direction of his tribe, a heavy weight of failure settling on his back. The the young hare suddenly crossed paths with the Antelope (pronghorn), who looked at him curiously.
“Young hare, what are you doing so far away from home?” the Antelope asked.
“I’m here to find to a solution to the my family’s hunger,” Anansi replied.
“How will you accomplish that?”
“I want to make the world spin, so that we may find food and resources faster than we can on our own in a day!”
The Antelope laughed, a deep resounding sound from his belly. He liked this little rabbit very much. “My young hare, that is absurd and a delightful dream! But lucky for you, not impossible. Come here and I will tell you how you may realize your dream.”
Anansi, feeling hopeful and optimistically cautiously, hopped closer to the Antelope.
“You need to run towards the east. Run and don’t stop. That is the answer to your problems.” the Antelope said.
“But I already do that! How will I know it will work?” Anansi cried.
But the Antelope had already disappeared. Without any other options, the young hare began to run in the direction of the east. He ran and ran, the speed of his feet taking him further and faster as he ran with the wind. And remarkably, the World began to turn. And as it turned, the days changed into night. The temperature changed from hot to cold, to cool and warm—and thus, the four seasons were created.
When Anansi returned home, he saw that his family and tribe had not moved. In fact, they settled in the same spot where he left them! But now, they had a plethora of delicious crops and fruits growing. Some were grown in the Fall and Winter and some in the Spring and Summer, but because of his quick feet, courage, and belief, the Rabbit Tribe was able to enjoy an abundance of year long harvests this year and every year forward.
