Life Day
Upon first impression it seemed we've portalled into some sort of cult gathering... Sphinxes of many diverse varieties stood together in long red robes surrounded by hundreds and hundreds of candles. We could spot the Fake Santa slowly, on foot for some reason, holding a curious glowing orb and moving carefully through the happy looking crowd. Many of the group were also holding the orbs reverently. It looked as if the Goblin wanted to run but was trying to make it look like he was just casually walking with the same reverence as everyone else in this curious ritual but his nervousness was betrayed by his constantly looking over his shoulder. We were so close and the group was about to dash forward when a monstrously tall furry Sphinx stepped in clearly in our way and let out a loud...
Furry Sphinx: ROOOOOOAAAAARRRRR!
Stopped in our tracks a second Sphinx smiled and interjected.
Knight: I'm sorry strangers, perhaps you don't speak my friends language? He says that everyone is welcome at this Life Day Celebration but he also asks that you kindly respect the ritual's traditions. There's no running around please.
Furry Sphinx: Roooaarrarrarooo.
The furry Sphinx nodded and lightly roared again if he was happy with the Knights translation and we had to accept that somehow she got all that from it's original intimidating roar.
Mayolin: Alright and sorry we were not as respectful as we should have been, we're new here.
Peppermint: ...and I have to admit I am curious about what's going on here, especially that decorated tree, but we have find...
The furry Sphinx cut her off with another howl and looked a bit excited! His howls and roars were kindly interpreted again by the friendly knight!
Knight: My friend here is extra excited that you want to know more about life day!
The great furry Sphinx motioned to hug Peppermint, who smiled and opened her arms and was given a giant warm furry hug. Mayolin was next, then a happy Garland and anyone else who wanted one. For the extra keen, the Goblin seemed to be slowed by the crowd and wasn't getting anywhere fast, especially when mercantile Sphinx was all excited to see him and was making a pitch to sell him some fine 'Gimer sticks' of which the finest were grown locally! Once the Friendly hugs were out of the way the creature howled again.
Knight: Ah, it seems that he likes you and wants you to play a game with him! I should also mention that it would be in very poor taste to refuse his game and even on Life Day you wouldn't want to make this guy upset.
The large Sphinx pulled out a small disc and set it upon a natural wooden table of which there were many about covered in curiosities that we'd eventually learn were local foods. He pushed a few buttons and soon the tabletop was covered in tiny spectral figures each idly moving slowly giving the impression of being alive. He looked particularly excited!
Knight: I'm happy to explain the rule of this one for you all. They are a bit complex... but...
she leaned in a bit closer to whisper;
Knight: Even though it's Life Day I'm afraid my friend here is not a gracious loser and this will all go badly unless you...

Let the Wookie Win
For the Party to get past the furry Sphinx and have a chance to take him with you we are going to play a very simple dice game! ...dice will be much easier to work with then explain and setting up a whole Dejarik game, (-8
I am going to Roll a D20 in this thread along with a phrase like "Rooooaaaarrrr" (might not be exact, don't worry) and everyone else can roll one Dice after me with the phrase "My Turn!"
Everyone who rolls lower than me (whether unlucky or you're just letting the Wookie win) can move onto the second round. If you roll the same or higher you are out of this game and it's best to step away from the furry Sphinx!
The second round will happen just like the first, where I will roll a dice and everyone still in the game my roll again with the same phrase. Everyone who rolls lower than me again will be entered into a draw to win our furry Sphinx!
If somehow no one loses this game as well as they should, so we have no winner, (-8 We'll start again from the top and try two more rounds with everyone able to start again!
