A year had flown by since sphinxes went to the North Pole to help prepare for Yuletide and now the season was already upon the sphinxes. The day of Yule itself was drawing near.
Katterhiem was in a flurry of preparation. The Yule Priestesses were busily hanging ornaments they created, baking new recipes and filling the air with carols. The trees around Katterheim were heavy with baubles, garlands and lights making a glorious scene. A thick blanket of snow covered nearly everything making everything look frosted. Everything seemed to be ready this year.
In the air of the village square a circular portal made of golden light spun into view before the Yule Princess Peppermint slipped through, followed by the dark elven sphinx Mayolin before it closed. Peppermint Kringle: "Hello. I wish that I could start with 'Merry Yuletide' but things don't seem to be very merry in the North Pole at the moment. It's a bit of a story, and I'm looking for nice sphinxes who would be willing to help because I know that there are quite a few of you on the Nice List (or at least who wish to gain bonus points to get shifted onto the Nice List). I'll make it all worth your while. I asked the Portal Witch Mayolin to help out with this issue since we may need her expertise to find the way. You see, the Santa Claus of this world hasn't been very active for the last while, so I've been asked to step in and take over the job, and I already made a serious mistake. What happened is I recently came upon a warren of very nice goblins, uncommon I know. These goblins are great helpers, builders and assistants and I believed they would be wonderful to help the elves prepare for Yule. But one goblin got past my senses for Naughty and Nice. I don't know how, but he did. Before I knew what was happening this naughty goblin stole the Claus Regalia! A special hat, coat, bag and sleigh that are the perfect magical combination to deliver presents every year. One of the powers is to open up portals for the sleigh to travel through, and the goblin 'Fake Claus' has vanished through one of these portals!  Mayolin: Which is why she asked for my help with the portals. Although I can find portals we need aid catching him once we get there. Peppermint: Also, who knows what chaos he's causing wherever that naughty goblin goes! The North Pole needs the Regalia back! Will you please help?(( Note: as usual, the Yule events are 'semi-canon' because of how whimsical they are.))

~*~ Long Running Contests ~*~ Find Fake Santa! The Fake Santa goblin has been running amok! Occasionally he's spotted in his stolen sleigh flying somewhere overhead, only to vanish through a portal before you can react! But.. maybe you can spot him and help track down where he went. Occasionally Fake Santa above will show himself in the thread with the words " Nyah ha ho ho!". (Posted by a team member.) The first person to post "I spot you Fake Santa!" will get a point towards the end prizes. The picture of fake Santa must have the catchphrase on it to count. The person who has the most points at the end will win a Yule priestess upgrade! The second most will win the Fake Santa goblin. The third will win a new item or pet from this event (a list will be given at the end of the contest). In case of a tie it will be randomized. This game will be going up until Fake Santa is finally caught in the RP part of the event.Fake Santa SpottersNinjawoo 2 Siopilos 1 Phoenix Stardancer 13 Moonlit_Arcane 1 Secret Sphinx Santa We will be holding a Secret Santa. To enter you must donate a sphinx, netjer, dragon or centaur to get your name on the list. The donated creature may become altered in one way or another such as items added, trait added, colour change or job upgrades... it could be pretty much anything added that we think would look nice (if we believe it needs it). You may only enter once. On Yule (December 21rst) the sphinxes will be randomized and given out to different owners. If the numbers don't add up we'll put a premade to the pool. To enter PM Mr. Pooka with the title 'Secret Sphinx Santa' and include the sphinx (or other main species) you are donating. You have until the very end of December 20th EST to get your messages in. |
