I never thought I'd be brave enough to ACTUALLY get the tattoos I always wanted. But then on a whim (and a pseudo dare from my hubby) I got my first of MANY tattoos on our 12th anniversary trip. From this... birthed my insanity and desire to get all the tattoos I ever wanted. XD And my husband just stands back and shakes his head. He created a monster. >D ^ First ever, in one of the more painful locations. My left inner wrist. A fleur de lis for NOLA (New Orleans) to commemorate our 12th anniversary, my friends wedding weekend, and just to prove my hubby wrong. (He said I wasn't REALLY gonna do it cause I'd chicken out.) ^ My second tattoo, located on the outter part of my left forearm. A custom piece a WONDERFUL lady in Newcastle, England made for me. Sweet Pea flower (the nickname my momma gave me) and an English Poppy. A reminder that I'm a a delicate mix of genetics. hehe ^ My third tattoo and the start to a planned leg sleeve that will contain all anime/animated shows I've loved/been influenced by. These 3 mon are just a start. I've got plans to go back to the artist to get a few others in this style too. Maybe as a garter around my thigh. This is on my left leg. (Inkay was my OC Cece's main mon. Fennekin is Harper's. And I just always loved Dragonair. I think all I'm missing is the Ninetails and Charmander. XD) ^ My fourth tattoo and a custom piece; a heartbeat line that shows how much I love Disney. Pictured here are the shoe from Wall-E, Princess Aurora's gown, and Toby from the Great Mouse Detective. (To date this is my MOST PAINFUL tattoo). It's a straight shot down the back of my right forearm. From wrist to nearly elbow. ^ My fifth tattoo; one of Walt Disney's quotes and the one I feel most embodies me at this stage in my life. This one took the LONGEST time because to get the signature to 'take' the tattoo artist re-did it 12+ times. The ink didn't like that part of my arm. This one didn't hurt so much as made my arm/shoulder stiff from sitting in an awkward pose for 4+ hrs. Its directly opposite the Disney heartline on my right arm. I have plans for 2 more Disney-esque pieces for that forearm and then shoulder/bicep art that isn't Disney. XD SO.. that's all the ones I have SO far. I am scheduled to see my artist for the last 3 again; we're starting the first color piece for my anime/animated leg sleeve. Gonna add Calcifer and Howl. ;) Anyone else have tattoos they'd like to share? Or ones they'd like to get? :D

Oh and yea, I'm hoping to get 2 others from this artist in my area who's still an apprentice. But she's got some ADORABLE flash designs. Since I have this Friday off I was gonna try to catch her to do two for me. The first is this cute little zodiac flower flash she made. (if it's available I'm hoping to get the Capricorn) The other is one of these beautiful flower pixie/fairies. I dunno WHICH one.. if she has time maybe I'll get two. Depends on the size for placements. :D Finally, in future I'm hoping to get either the cat's paw or dream catcher; maybe. I'm not SOLD on this idea because I have plans for both shoulders/biceps that center more around OCs and my love of Egyptian mythology. >.>; SO... TBD! **I am also well aware I'm sharing the full instagrams of these artists. I'm not worried sharing them. Plus I'm hoping to boost them because these peeps are awesome. :D *this artist is called provi.poke*

Those tattoos are all great! I already told you how much I super love your pokemon one, and it's still my fave of yours. ^_^
I'll have to share mine at a later date. My skin isn't cooperating at the moment and I'll have to wait for it to clear up to get a couple good pics. Although my charmander tattoo really could use a fix up, it's faded over the last 25 years.

Thankies! :D Yea, I'm very partial to my Pokémon tattoo. I'm gonna ask Lucy (the artist) about adding to it end of July when I see her next. Since it'll impact placement for Howl and Calcifer. And then I have to choose what comes next. hehe.
As for tomorrow, I'm getting the bottom 2 fairies with the flowers; I got it confirmed with the artist Provi.Poke. :D SO EXCITED!
When you get a chance I'd love to yours!! I've seen them before I believe. You have the one goddess one and I know the Charmander on your ankle. :D <3 <3 10/10 best starter mon. Hehe

I love the flash options that artist has, wow! <3 I've been itching for another tattoo for awhile, and something bigger than the small wimpy "starter" (at least they were for me, lololol) ones that I currently have. I just can't decide through the many ideas I have... which is probably why I've been opting to get piercings lately instead xD

HOnestly the itch for more tattoos but not being ready to work on the sleeve ideas has been my issue to. XD Plus a couple artists I want to work on the sleeve(s) aren't available or are SUPER pricey (well earned for their years of experience and skill levels).
But also piercings are cool! I have wanted to get the septum nose piercing but I don't think I have the face for it. (so I put it on my OCs instead. XD)
Which have you gotten?

I was the same way Retta! I have LOVED tattoos since I was a kid. Loved seeing all the pieces people get but never thought I could do it. I'm glad I ended up doing it. XD So, just got home from the session. Total time was 4.5hrs. We did just the 2 fairies and added shading. (first time getting shading; it kinda hurt. XD) But... I LOVE LOVE LOVE them. Soon as the artist posts the snaps she got I'll share in a spoiler. Since the shading made my skin fairly red. There is a bit of visible blood because it was shallow ink. SO, don't want to distress anyone! AND the artist is SUPER sweet. She's gonna design another fairy like these 2 but with the flower she had for Capricorn and we'll add it to my left arm on the shoulder. MUAHAHAHAHA. I'm addict. XD ETA: Mr. Pooka -- Thank you! I do so love each of my tattoos. XD DEF no regrets at all. I've def been lucky in artists too. Always get the super sweet ones. (aside from the guy in NOLA. He thought I was nuts and was gruff. Apparently I impressed him with my sitting like a stone so was nicer at the end. hehe )

My colleague's daughter wants to be a tattoo artist, but it seems like a really difficult trade to enter. I think the fairies are super sweet. I love that kind of delicate work.

Operetta -- I think it's getting a bit better in terms of accepting female artists into the ranks but it is rough from my understanding. I chat with each artist I meet and so far they've mostly been female. (I think this is mostly by chance of the art styles I like/find the urge to get done). I think now a days there are many more female tattooists out there than back about 15 years ago? So it's definitely a changing profession and for the best really! :D But also, I think being an artist in any medium is a tough life. I appreciate every single one I meet/work with and even those I don't work with. I find them brave and SUPER awesome talented. I hope that your colleague's daughter gets to try it out if it's her desire. The apprentice I met today said normally it's like 2 years of mentoring/apprenticeship because they want to see how their work appears after being fully healed/etc.

Ohhh, Love yours <3 I wanted ones since i was little and planned several over the years. including some manga ones I have to say i was put off tattoos after having my first one. But i now know it was because the first one i got was not done right. I got my first tattoo about 12/13 years ago I went in with my sister to ask about cost and booking. They charged me £40 and told me to hop in the chair. My sister with me said oh that's good do it. i did. i regretted it. It's patchy and blurred not crisp-edged. Took weeks to heal. Good point it on the back of my neck and i can't see it. That shop moved twice and has been shut down due to bad practices. Then last year I got 3 XD A new parlor opening in town near me and my adoptive sister went and raved about how good they were. So i went had a consult about my design i was looking for and I had my big one planned for my birthday. But it had to be pushed back to November due to surgery. The first one i got was a Friday 13th special the tattoo shop did, all profit goes to charity. A lovely lady called Poppy did mine while Mike did my sister sitting next to me. I got a Little cobweb just above my right ankle, My sister got a voodoo doll on her wrist Was planning to get 2 that day but work changed my hours without telling me and i could only get one. Rolled around to November and i got my memorial tattoo for my two boys. I had wanted dates on it but when doing the consult it looked too busy. Jacks colours are of the blanket he was rehomed in and then buried with. Nibbles colours were for his love of plants. i swear he'd try to get into the plant pots every time we let them run free. Love how he did all my colours, i did have to go have a touchup on it later as a child said the yellow (orange bit bottom left) made it look like they had taken a wee on my arm. I couldn't unsee it so he added more green and it looks fine XD And my last one on the same day from poppy was the ghost i couldn't get on the 13th. As Mike was finishing i made an off-hand comment about how I'd have to wait till next Friday 13th to get the ghost i wanted. Poppy said i just had a cancellation hop over to my chair i do it for you now so i got both done that day. Now me and my sister have matching ghosts <3 I have some more planned I'll put them under a spoiler XD Love my some spooky mimikyu. want him on my ghost leg. I'm getting the mug one my sister the cat one ^^ booked for november <3 My mom said she wasnt matching ones with me and my sisters so i have this set for me and her (hers is left mine right) My sister is getting this with mom and this last one i'm getting after i have surgery on my shoulder/back that could be any time between now and next year.

OMG Minkey I love them all! (Though that planned mimiku OML do share once you get that done. It's adorable!!!
Though I fully understand having been turned off from your first experience. I think the last decade or so has seen a good revolution in the tattoo practices/shops over all. Which, again, I feel is good because we are talking about people using SHARP objects on skin. So the expectations for cleanliness and such is a good thing now. And the mentoring over just being able to buy a set up etc.
Also, SUPER love your little ghosties. hehe
