I've been a bit slow the last few days and might continue to be for a bit... our poor old puppy had been having some serious problems and he needs a lot of attention (and its just plain bothering me, poor guy!). Something is wrong with his back legs/hips and we're not sure if its some sort of pain or paralysis (which are both common for his age and breeds) but it is making him have trouble with everything (walking, bathroom stuff and especially getting up and down stairs to get outside). Unfortunatly he is HUGE and it is incredibly hard to help him up and down atm (the last few times my son and I have to get him to lie on a blanket so we can carry him... an impossible one person and barely possible two person job!).
Either way I keep getting distracted worrying about him and having to help him with simple everyday stuff. Just wanted to mention over here if you were wondering why I was being slow/absent. (I try not to mention stuff like this in the PI forums, Sphinx threads are only for happy and fun! These forums are for the real life/other stuff like this...)

Poor fluffy butt giant puppy. He's really pitiful right now and it's just so sad watching him try to stand up while both crying in pain and trying to wag his tail... all at the same time. For those who have never seen him, well he's around a 130 lb dog, and very, very large. So it's been quite difficult trying to help him out, but I think he's starting to get better. He cries if he thinks he's being left alone though since he's so scared. We were dreading a visit to the vet to shell out a ton of cash to just be told what we probably already figured out through some internet research. If he gets worse we'll take him in though, but he seems to be on the mend. ^_^ Most likely it's a bad few days of his hip displacia.

Awwww....poor big puppy *sends comforting pets to the big fluffy and sends hugs to the Pookas* It's always hard when a pet is going through something like that. What kind of dog is he? Hip displacia is common in big dogs, so the best that can be done at the moment is to just help him and keep him as comfy as possible and if it gets worse...then yea...vet trip would be needed. Good luck with things *hugs again*

sorry to hear that, had a cat once that had the same issue. Well other than the big part he was rather 'small' tho a large build tom cat

Poor Tyr. He seems like such a big sweet baby of a dog. I hope he gets better quickly. I guess this does make me glad that Tai's our biggest and only 55 pounds. I can easily lift him by myself. Chows are also prone to hip dysplasia, so I really hope Tyr is better soon.

Tyr's wonderfully on the mend. ^_^ He's getting up and down stairs okay now and only hobbles a tiny bit. It did have us scared for a few days, and since I can't do the lifting due to my own back easily going out it's had Mr. Pooka distracted and busy taking care of the dog since I couldn't do much to help physically.
He is such a super sweetie though, I've never had a dog this wonderful before. Even my mother who hates pets just adores him since he's the biggest, gushiest, most docile, eager to please, teddy bear of a dog you'll ever meet.
(A note that this has mostly just slowed down Mr. Pooka for a few days since he's been pretty distracted, it hasn't done much to effect my work so I've still been working on my customs. No worries there. ^_^ )

Oh so so glad to hear Mr. Tyr is getting better! He sounds like such a huge sweet heart. :3 My little furrbaby, Kaja and I have him in our thoughts!
