My sister bought an allotment last year from an old man who could no longer look after it. It came complete with chickens. We donated 10 eggs to my nephews nursery so they could watch them hatch and we got 9 healthy chicks. Went to pick them up yesterday and took with us the 2 friendly adult chickens to do a talk about them. Couldn't take photo's IN the school so here is the chicks with my older nephew and niece-in-law with them at home. NOT dead. we were sexing them (all girls Yeah) and when you tip them on their backs they fall asleep. See all fine. XD They are in the old rabbit hutch and run at the house at the moment till they are bigger. then they'll move up to the large chicken run at the allotments.

How did I miss this until now?! So cute, oh my goodness soooo cute! I oddly love chickens (and goats, and well, most farm animals.)

Were getting a goose soon to help with the fox problem in the area. They have not got into my sisters yet but they got into the coop about 6 gardens down so every ones beefing up their security XD We talked about getting ducks as when we were clearing brambles we found a hidden pond. Now its cleared it's quite big so a couple of duck and Geese should be at home. And the foxes will be driven off in a more humane way XD
