I just saw asking about trading for newbies... I have no idea about that one myself, sorry. ^^; Toxi and her hubby sent me crossroads trades and that worked. Sadly, you can't ever gen another dragon. You get more first gens by hatching eggs (or buying a first gen dragon in the auction house that somebody else had hatched). The species/gender/colours are random with a hatched dragon, their element is the same as the egg they were hatched from.

You get first gen eggs through either gathering in the scavenging section (they only can be found there), or as random drops in the coliseum. I've found it's easier to get them from gathering then fighting... but that could just be my own luck. You can also buy eggs in the auction house, that other people have scavenged or looted from drops.

I'll just post this here:
Hmmm... some quick general tips?:
Gather items - This is where you gather food for your dragons and also have two options to gather items that you can sell for (usually) small amounts (though see below for more explanation). To see what your dragon eats, go into your lair and simply hover over the image. It will say Diet: Suchandsuch.
Clan energy - Keeping your clan energy at over 90% consecutively for 3+ days will earn you some bonuses including 5 more gathering turns, 250 treasure per day, 1 gem, and some extra battle experience. You boost your clan's energy by feeding your dragons
Marketplace - The standard site shop. Comes in gems/treasure. Treasure is the "free" currency whereas gems are the real money currency (for the most part, as I said you can get a free gem per day)
Auction House - Self explanatory
Trading Post - A great place to check out and possibly earn some quick treasure. - Pinkerton's Pile awards one random item completely free every day. - Crim's Cart allows you to sometimes trade in items/food you have found for ~500 treasure (some items are worth more, and some aren't worth trading to her at all - like scrolls) - Swipp's Stand allows you to trade in items you gather for potentially more valuable items - these are usually apparel or pets. It is worth investigating if you can get more treasure by selling the components then selling the item received before you trade in though (assuming you are selling)
Crossroads - Where you trade dragons for treasure/gems/dragons
Fairgrounds - The minigame area! This is a good place for people to start out making a bit of treasure when they are new (or a lot, depends how good you are at the games/how much time you put into them)
Coliseum - My personal preferred way to earn treasure - though it will be harder for anyone just starting out. You battle/level your dragons against NPC enemies here. Usually the fights will drop some sort of loot that again can be sold. It is also wise to level dragons here for Exalting (see below)
Selling loot: You can wait for Crim to see if you can sell your loot, or you can simply do it directly out of your Hoard. You will get less money this way, but it is instant money instead of relying on random luck
Exalting: Since I don't have too much time to put into minigames, this is my preferred method of money making over all. Generally this is done by breeding your dragons, hatching the babies, then using the exalt button to send them to the service of your dragon deity. However you can also wait until the hatchlings grow up, name them, then level them in the Coli to receive more money (the amount you get is based off the dragon's level and also on occasion other factors which you can see on the front page under Exalt Bonuses)
Also, you can ping other users in your forum posts by typing in @username when you make a post. This will show up as a notification to the pinged user

You either buy them in the auction house, or they can be found while 'Scavenging'. I don't know what the rates are for finding one, but they're pretty rare. I've found probably less than ten and my scavenging is at level 21. If you're looking for specific colors, keep an eye on this thread. Certain combos are more desirable and can be expensive, but in the long run it will probably be cheaper than trying to buy and hatch egg after egg. flightrising.com/main.php?p=mb&board=baz&id=1016744

Both runestones and the puzzles still have a few glitches. My preferred game is Shock Switch. Also, anyone who needs a starter familiar hit me up. I have lots and I'm happy to give away a few basics.
Familiars are exactly what they sound like. They are companions for your dragons and will give you bonuses daily of treasure. As they level, they will give you chests.

I also have some spare familiars I can toss around

familiars?
I saw a few in the shop but they are expensive!
ETA: can you craft things that you find? Like, it looks like something can be made with ore or a log?

I think they eventually intend for there to be a forge of some sort, but for right now, the only use materials have is to trade them to Swipp or give them to Crim.

I was trying to earn more treasure so I could buy more dragons but the games don't seem to like me. They won't work on my laptop. And I wouldn't mind a familiar if your sure. Still trying to poke around and figure things out.

So, I keep getting trinkets. What do they do or what are they used for?
