Wait, wait wait wait... does this mean it will work on Windows 8 now? I have every Sims 2 disc, except for.. one stuff pack I think, and they don't work on my windows. But pretty much anything you can download on Origin is windows 8 compatible.
Oh my goodness, if this works to revive my sims 2 (if my computer ever comes back from the shop. -_- ) you will totally be in my 'love you forever and ever' books.

Redeemed it... even though, EA being EA, I doubt this will be available for my Mac. But hey, can't hurt to try, right?

Oooooooh! Yay1 I loved SIMS 2. I actually prefer it over SIMS 3. Now to just get it to download instead of throwing up Temp. Unavailable errors.
Pooka, I have Windows 8.1 so I'll let you know how it runs once I get it downloaded <3

I'm definitely not sure on compatability but I'd definitely suggest grabbing it on Origin regardless. If it still doesn't work for some reason maybe I can help you guys find a work around.

I'll have to install origin on my laptop just to redeem that code before it's too late. My sims 2 had tons of custom things I did. I couldn't mesh for the life of me, but I certainly could re-colour.
(edit) Or apparently I may just have to log into my account and re-deem it. Gah, I'm still sleepy and not thinking.

I grabbed it and...it did not go well @_@ Windows 8 was not a happy OS. It took a good old forced restart to sort things out since it somehow managed to lock me out of task manager, even when I managed to open it.

Have you Win8 people tried running it in compatibility mode? (choosing WinXP or something)

Darn, that sounds like the issues I was having with my game. Apparently there are some ways to barely just run it on Win 8, but not if you try to put in all of the expansion packs, stuff packs, and hundreds of sims and mods. -_- Ah well, someday I'll get a 'sims' computer that uses windows 7.
