Aneksi had been enjoying her first Heb. She was young and excited and tempted by so much. She had hoped to earn her first job during the festivities. She had not planned for what did happen. She thought she was safe. After a day of fun and much partying she wandered the streets alone. She was heading home to sleep and ready herself for another day of fun. It was dark as evening was upon her. She was not paying as much attention as she should have been. Suddenly someone or something dashed across her path. She stopped and looked about. She felt a push from behind as someone ran after the first. She watched in fascination and horror as two shadows came together and fought. As she watched she realized one was a hunter. But, she was not a hunter of animals as Aneksi had first believed. It looked as if this hunter fought another sphinx. But how could this be. The it all became clear as the one the hunter fought turned and hissed. Teeth gleamed long an white. Aneksi backed to the wall to hide in the shadows. Neither of those fighting noticed her. But something had. She felt paws reach around her and draw her back. She tried to squeak out a call for help but one of the paws gently covered her mouth. Her captor whispered in her ear. Things got fuzzy then. She vaguely remembered pain and heat. When she woke later it was just fading into darkness again. Had she lost a day? She was covered in blood. It was her own blood. She wandered home to wash. She bathed and looked at her neck. There were faint marks there. And wait were her teeth bigger? Perhaps longer? What had happened?
Aneksi would spend long nights trying to figure out what had happened to her. She would figure it out when she became so thirsty she would stalk her first meal. She could hear and feel her prey's despondency. She zeroed in on the feelings of depression and loneliness. As she slipped up behind him and gently circled him with her front arms and paws. She gently whispered into his ear. "Let me take away your loneliness." He seemed to understand and just tilted his head. She drank deeply. But, being new to what she was she drank to deeply. As she came to herself after feeding she realized what had happened to her. She had become a vampire. She had become what she watch be hunted in the streets. She looked around in slight fear. She would have to hide and learn to feed in a more secret way. She slipped away to create her lair and learn more about what she had become.
