 "You were at Thomas and Kiara's wedding as well? How strange I didn't realise you were there. I don't think I would have forgotten you... if I ever saw you." Aurelio looked down slightly in embarrassment. "And you say you'd like to know anything about me. Well, have you met my Faerie yet? Eve..." He clapped his paws once to summon the female faerie. "She's a stubborn little creature. Like me. Solita would often joke that this made me a fitting owner for her." The corners of Aurelio's mouth seemed to tug in amusement as he spoke. |

 She nodded, a lock of blonde hair falling into her face. " Yes, though since it was her big day I didn't want to stand out much, I helped her sister get her ready for the wedding, and stood in as part of her bridal party." The explanation was simple enough, she wasn't vain enough to outshine a bride on the bride's big day. Belle looked at the fairy in interest " Oh how pretty , Kiara's fairy Noir is the only one I've personally met before. I haven't quite found the right sort of pet for myself yet, though I do like the looks of those pharaoh hounds, my father always bred them and the mastiff dogs." |

"Yes, I rather like those hounds myself," Aurelio said as Eve fluttered and perched herself on the handle of one of his swords. "They do have a rather regal look about them. I think you'd look good with one." He couldn't stop himself from smiling and as a lock of hair fell in Belle's face, he couldn't resist gently tucking it behind her ear and out of the way. Suddenly he looked rather shocked at his actions. "I'm sorry Belle, I..." He trailed off.

She looked more than a bit taken aback but made no move to stop him regardless. Feeling like her stomach was attempting to tie itself into more knots than her whip on a bad day. " N..no its fine! I just.. didn't expect that.." she stammered, inwardly cursing herself. For some reason she felt more nervous around this male than she had around any other male she'd met before.

Aurelio looked embarrassed when Belle expressed her shock at his actions. "Truthfully I wasn't expecting it either my lady... I do apologize..." Aurelio hadn't been entirely sure what had come over him. He just knew that in that moment he had found Belle so beautiful that for once he hadn't been able to control himself. He just hoped that it hadn't cost him her friendship in any way.

She waved his apology away with a paw , using the gesture to fan herself a bit too. " Again I don't mind at all, and there's no one other than my sister who might be bothered by it.." why did I say that , I know he's attractive but he probably already has a wife or at least a girlfriend..stupid, so stupid.. She looked slightly away, embarrassed by what she'd simply blurted out.

Aurelio was relieved when Belle didn't seem too bothered anymore by what he'd done. But he couldn't help noticing what she'd just said. "Only your sister would be bothered by that? But does that mean.. are you saying that you have no husband or other partner? If so that's very surprising for someone as beautiful as you..." He paused and flicked his tail a little from side to side thoughtfully. "I'm not currently attached myself. If I was, I never would have let my emotions get the better of me like that. Though even so, I know I still should have considered more how that might have impacted you, and again I am sorry for that." He looked at Belle with sincerity in his usually stern gaze.

She nodded " Yes I have no mate, or husband, or boyfriend of any sort. I felt a bit jealous of Kiara when I saw her and Thomas together actually. I've always since I was young, wished for something like that for myself. For someone to simply get me, and not care about my parents status, or my own status.. To find me attractive simply for being myself and not just my looks. I don't mind if that other appreciates my looks , but to find someone who just truly appreciates all of me.. is what I've always wanted.."

Aurelio nodded as Belle spoke, almost as if in a daze. "Yes, I know just what you mean. I've always wanted that same thing for myself. It's a lot harder to find someone who just loves you for you than it is to find someone who only wants you for your appearance. And yet, I believe deep down that is what we all want..."

Belle flushed a bit after her rather , in her opinion, soap box style speech. Though she felt relieved that he hadn't run for the hills or worse after what she'd said. Nonetheless she found herself wringing her paws just a bit. After all it wasn't like she'd revealed this to just anyone, and yet somehow she felt compelled to simply blurt things out to him, why, she wasn't quite sure.

Aurelio sensed Belle's feeling awkward and decided to change the subject. "Tell me about your family, your sister, growing up... Or maybe what you care most about in the world. It doesn't matter what. I just want to... get to know you Belle. And it's been a while since I cared about... well, anyone other than myself or Solita. Please indulge me." He gazed at Belle and tilted his head slightly with interest. He couldn't comprehend how she had made him feel such a way so quickly.

She nodded, settling down just a bit, thanks to the change of subject. " Growing up I was always quite the tomboy, which I suppose in inherited from my mother. Both sides of my family come from long lines of courtiers , nobles and other sorts of royalty amongst the palace, but I, like my mother before me, felt, stifled.. My father's father, who is rather set in his ways, wanted me to be married off to another older male, to be the youngest of that male's wives.. but I refused , not only since he was, so, so, much older than me, but also because I had no feelings for him.. So I ran away and became a pirate, my parents only found me again last year, after some searching by my younger sister.. Once my parents found me, they tried to marry me off to another noble, that you might know, Shyam, but he and I didn't quite hit it off, I'm sure they're still trying to find someone though " she sighed and shook her head.

"Shyam," Aurelio scoffed. "That courtier's voice carries for miles. He wouldn't be worthy of such... such beauty." He looked away nervously. "Not that I would be necessarily, or... anyone. Only a man who had your whole heart would be worthy of that." Aurelio took his mind off the awkwardness by letting Eve settle on one of his fingers, her wings flickering prettily.
"What was it like, being a pirate? Did you meet many low-lives and scoundrels? I dread to think what men out on the sea could have thought fitting to do with you." He frowned curiously as he watched Eve.

She clapped a paw over her mouth to hide the laugh that threatened to bubble out at his description of the other male. " Well he was nice enough I suppose but a bit too vain for my tastes , though I am glad he found a pair of females that can handle that. " Despite the fact she'd been a bit miffed originally by the courtiers spurning of her she was not about to hold that much of a grudge against him. " It was.. interesting, I learned how to defend myself in far greater, and much less dignified , ways than I would have otherwise, its interesting what a bit of coal dust and a few dirty rags can do to hide such things, that was the trick the few ladies I was with used at least."

Aurelio frowned. "Well yes, I wouldn't call him evil as such, just... a bit annoying. Full of himself, perhaps. Or maybe I'm just too miserable to appreciate that sense of humour. In any case, if he's managed to find love and happiness I suppose there's hope for the rest of us." The corner of Aurelio's lips tugged upwards into a soft smile. Then he appeared concerned again as Belle spoke of her previous exploits as a pirate. "Yes I can imagine that when things got desperate, you'd have to rely on... desperate measures." As if with a mind of its own, one of his paws rose up and slid gently down one side of her face and hair, so softly that perhaps all Belle would have felt might have just been a relaxing tickle. "Such a pretty face..." What was making him do this? Had some wine been slipped into his drink? Or was this just the way Belle was making him feel? It was like she'd become some kind of drug to him very quickly. "I- I couldn't imagine you with coal on it." Aurelio finished bluntly in an attempt to snap himself out of his trance. Unfortunately a buzzing in the air all around him could still be felt as he blushed a little from his actions.
