((MA note--as far as the Dr. Vune prompt goes, cannon stuff related to that night might end here since ive already written out hes still healing by midnight this day))
Aeion watched the female carefully, still attempting to calm from the scare he just had. He took everything in and closed his eyes. '..So, your goddess works from a distance. Its still unusual..even those stronger then us need to be within close proximity to let off an aura..unless they are within the same area I guess'. He looked over towards her, and then to his side. 'Its..not that bad; should heal on it own. Hopefully soon.' He wasn't ecstatic that information he would normally instantly know was 'lagging out' on him. And he didn't like waiting. But he didn't want to risk hurting the local that actually took time out of her day to help him.
He tilted his head, curious when he was asked about his world. It wasn't something someone from earth typically wanted to know. 'Well, what did you want to know? Turn everything you think as normal and throw it out the door.' Where would he start? And how much would someone from here take before thinking you've gone mental?

((Cannon stuff?))
Sheriti laughed lightly. "Well, you see perhaps things work a bit differently here than you are used to. That's fairly common in this, um, dimension I believe you called it." Sheriti shrugged when he declined her help. "Suit yourself. I think it should probably heal as well. Maybe take a bit, though. If you change your mind, I'm always willing to help," Sheriti gave Aeion another bright smile with that last line. She was quite curious about this strange Sphinx. She'd never met anyone from an entire other dimension. She had taken care to steer clear of the Sphinxes from Lamoria. Most of them scared her just a bit too much for her to approach. Aeion was different, though - he didn't scare her. She didn't feel like she needed to be afraid of her new friend. It didn't hurt that he was very intriguing and handsome.
When Aeion asked her what she wanted to know, Sheriti's eyes lit up with excitement. "Well, I suppose I want to know everything. What are the Sphinxes like from your dimension? The architecture? Life in general...?" She trailed off a bit when she realized she was probably overwhelming him with questions. "Sorry, I don't mean to overwhelm you. I don't have many friends. I tend to stay to myself."

((just what happens with the prompts and stuff. You can give it a read if you want--just note that things are happening in a way where hes constantly angry so that side of him is showing through a lot right now. Hes got a protective side too--typically its when around his family. He will act a bit more like a child that just wants to be held. It just depends on the situation and who hes around.
OH! just fyi hes an OC so as far as love relationships go hes off limits. That doesn't mean you cant try to seal in his trust as a friend though. If you are successful, he will look out for her if hes in the area))
Aeion took a look at the confused female, then went to grab a small stick nearby. He sat back down and started to draw in the sand, thankful that he was by now adept to his paws. His voice was soft as he didn't like being overheard by anyone with ear to the ground. 'This line represents the earth we are on now, and everything in the sky'. He looked up, unsure how much astronomy the female knew. 'The moon, the sun, the planets you sometimes see, and all of the stars.' He looked back at her then drew a line parallel to it. 'This represents where I come from. See how the lines don't touch? The sun, moon, stars and planets you see here don't exist because they aren't in the same space. They exist, but only in what is represented as the other line.'
He closed his eyes for a sec, thinking, before drawing a single slanted line on an angle, jetting past both of the lines drawn before. 'Beings from either dimension normally don't have access to anything but their home. This isn't by accident..its to keep everyone safe.' He pointed to the slanted line with the stick. 'Of curse, there are exceptions. Where I come from, its easier to cross this link. Then again, some people have to because that is their job. This line represents those that can cross through, by either their own means..or through a portal guardian--a caretaker so to speak-- and their blessing.'
He paused and gauged the female, then shook his head.
'Before you ask, no, beings from here typically aren't allowed to cross over. Less they've done something to deserve the death penalty. You aren't 'equipped' with the means to survive. Think of it like being too far advanced to keep up.' He shook his head. 'And the blessing to access our world safely would be worse then pulling teeth. Typically, you need a relative for that.'
He stopped and waited..making sure he didn't loose the female. After he was sure she was fine, he kind of blinked and wondered for a bit how to respond to some of her questions.
'This may seem weird to you, but 'sphinxes' only exist within some boundaries here. Anyone not born one becomes one. The 'sphinxes' back home aren't sphinxes at all. That said, its a mainly male dominated place. Females exist but aren't born too often. We value family, trust and protection. And we are born ready to defend ourselves when needed.'
..'Not that we are at war. But danger is always lurking in every corner, and its job of those that are born with certain abilities to keep things in line. That's just our life.'
He looked around at the sandstone walls and shook his head.
'Very different from here. A lot of natural forests and greenery. There are areas like this one with sand and dunes, but the buildings are different. More..organic. Not soo many corners, though it varies where you go. Some buildings would look..futuristic on the inside maybe? I don't know what you perceive as that and its hard to describe something like that.'
He looked back over towards her when she called him a friend. He wasn't sure what she meant but he did try to pull out something that may be similar.
'You are..by yourself often? Is it related to your job?'
He *thought* he sort of knew what she was talking about. He didn't have anyone his age to really talk about things. He had his family and his superiors. Though he supposed some of the other hyeans he sometimes visited may count?

((I will take a look after the Heb is over. And that's good to know!))
Sheriti watched him drawing in the sand intently, trying her best to understand. She listened to his words and considered them. "Hmm. So you come from an entirely different place with nothing that is familiar here, including the great sun and moon?" Sheriti thought hard, trying to wrap her head around this. "So, nothing from here is there...?"
She considered his words, still not sure she understood correctly. "So, is it your job to come here...or...? Why would crossing over be dangerous?" Sheriti tried to limit her questions, not wanting to overwhelm her new friend, Aeion.
"So, can everyone from where you're from cross over to other places, like here? Just not vice versa?" Sheriti was extremely confused, never having heard of such, but she was beginning to understand more. At least, she thought she was. "And what do you mean to survive? Is it very dangerous at your home?"
Sheriti's eyes widened to the size of quarters. "WAIT WHAT!? Sphinxes don't exist where you are from...? But, that makes no sense because you're, well, a Sphinx...." She considered a male dominated land, and she thought she wouldn't like that much. Females were very important here in Egypt.
"What sort of danger?" Sheriti asked another question before she could help herself. "If Sphinxes don't exist in your homeland, then what does...?"
"I would love to see a forest. That would be beautiful. I like green things. Like lots of plants and trees, correct? That's what a forest is. I've seen drawing of them," Sheriti added this last bit proudly.
Sheriti was bumfuzzled by all the new information.
"I'm alone a lot for my priestess duties, yes. I just see the other priestesses, but I don't speak much. I usually stick to myself."

Aeion looked back at the confused female and made a 'kind of' motion with his shoulders.
'We have a sun. And there are moons around different planets. They just are not the same as the ones in the sky that you see. It still provides light, and warmth, just like this one.'
He was not going to get into the details on how their 'sun' was controlled by another demi like Hyean. He was the sun, inside of the core of a star that was his home. But it did look identical to the sun in this sky. For now that was all that mattered.
He blinked a bit and carefully thought out his words. 'I have family half way around this earth, so I can go there any time I want. My job? Kind of like a gate keeper. Closing down dangerous things before they either reach their destination or get out of control. Sometimes that means making sure stray....mean things that start in our word do not cross over into this one.'
He paused.
'Not everyone has access to ask for permission to cross over, or wants to. Those that do usually just act like silent protectors. Making sure beings like you stay safe without realizing anything was wrong to begin with.'
He then made a bit of a face.
'I would be afraid to allow anyone from here into our world. We are born with innate abilities to keep us safe. Your..magics work for here but are not as advanced as they need to be. Those that find their way in typically don't last long. The environment or another confused local would take them out in a heartbeat.'
At the females shocked expression, Aeion could not help himself but laugh. When he did, his side began to hurt and he placed his paw on it.
'From that response, you can imagine how I felt when I got closer to the city walls. There is something in place that makes it so an outsider somehow becomes one. I don't know the border limits though. Im assuming ill revert to normal once im able to go back home. Im what you may call human. At least, an advanced form of one.'
He head tilted.
'dangers? natural hazards and toxins that do not exist here. Traps, runes, pits. Sometimes fissures or other geothermal related events. Protective barriers that you might not be able to see. Anything imbued with someone's energy--their innate abilities-- and you wouldn't see it coming.'
He made sure the female was stable and then cuffed his paw in front of him. Small orange ethereal wisps briefly appeared around it before disappearing completely.
'I was born with the ability to travel through space. I can also create fumes that don't exist here or focus them if something attacks me. That is how I keep myself safe when im home.'
'Everyone has something. It might fire or weather manipulation. Something that keeps them safe.'
He gauged the female and then smiled.
'Nature is pretty. Especially when its kept in tact. Areas can differ from zone to zone. Its kind of a shame it isn't more varied here.'

Sheriti listened intently. "So, it's the same...but also different? Like the things in the sky are the same, but just with new names?"
"That sounds like a very dangerous job.." Sheriti considered this. "What sorts of dangerous things have you stopped?" Her eyes lit up with a mix of excitement and fear. This Sphinx was proving to be very interesting. Strange, but interesting. Being a Priestess, she had never dealt with something like what Aeion was speaking of. It sounded much more risky than her life.
Sheriti looked very thoughtful. "So, I'm not supposed to know these things? Does anyone else know where you came from?" She kind of hoped they didn't. Maybe she had really made a good friend that trusted her with important information. Sheriti longed for a relationship like that, even if it was merely platonic.
Sheriti's eyes widened. "Wait, so Sphinxes have crossed over to your world? How on earth did they manage that?" She suddenly felt fear and hurt for those lives lost in this strange land. Her kind dying because they didn't have the means to live there.
Sheriti's jaws dropped. "YOU'RE A HUMAN? I know of humans, of course. I guard one, but I've never met one who became a Sphinx like me! That's really interesting. What is it like to be a human?" Her eyes filled up with the romance of it. Being a human sure sounded interesting, though she wasn't sure she'd like to trade her paws for hands.
"So, are the dangers a bit like those when you try to enter a tomb of the dead? Only more potent...?" She hoped she didn't sound stupid. She was still trying to wrap her head around all this information.
"Please don't make fumes. I don't want to die today." She smiled, showing she was joking. I don't think I would be able to live in this other world you live in..."
"I believe with Lamoria opening up, there has been talk that there is more diverse nature there. I haven't been myself, of course."

Aeion closed his eyes and thought for a second.
'Its not the exact same sun, or the exact same moon. The sun up in the sky above us is in a different space from the one back home. But a different sun, and different moons do exist. What is the same is how each function. Both provide the same kind of light and warmth. Back home, the sky is the same shade of blue, and the same types of clouds can form.
He was semi right. On the plant he lives on it was true. To the point where if one didn't know any better they may think they WERE on earth, depending on if they were somewhere open without buildings. But on the one his family was originally from, the sky could change on a dime. It was typically a hazy mossy green or pale periwinkle colour. But the sun was still visible.
He went to slowly go to lay down (typical sphinx laying down on stomach) and his side began to slightly ease up. He shrugged slightly.
'Mainly evil creatures intending to try to wipe things out. Sometimes some fire coated chunks of ore. Usually if something has some kind of element that does not exist here, it has to be stopped.'
He then looked up to her and again shrugged.
'Its not like im going to get into trouble. It doesn't really matter if someone from here knows. Its more making sure they don't go nuts or proclaim doom and gloom to the entire population like a crier because if it. I don't typically say much unless I feel I have to. Typically someone finds out if they try to attack me or my allies and family then wonder why they cant make contact.'
He shook his head. Even a bullet from a gun was catchable for him and he knew his parents had to do that very thing quite a few times when his cousin ran into trouble in a back alley. He then brow raised slightly before shaking his head.
'Occasionally. But if someone crosses over its usually intended by the head gate keeper. That creature already had a death sentence. Could have been a serial killer or something worse.'
'If an innocent crosses over and they aren't supposed to be there, he will try to get them out if he or someone else catches it. That doesn't happen often. If it does that person had to have had some kind of ill intention or want to be there, or fumbled through a portal just as someone was shutting it down. Chances of that happening would be soo slim that it would be easier to get hit by lightning.'
The females next reaction kind of caught him a bit off guard and he jamp slightly. 'What is it like..how can one describe something like that? I guess, compared to this..' He looked down at his paws 'Its easier to move, to walk, to hold onto something. I feel somewhat limited..but I also don't have the amount of time another 'Sphinx' has with these features so im sure its second nature to have free mobility.'
His eyes were semi filled with a bit of concern as his mind flushed to memories of his parents and how much he just wanted them to hold onto him. With hands. He didn't say anything though and did not let on that he did have a ping of concern. It was strange because in his mind he hadn't seen them in a week, but his body clock was so it felt like it had just been hours. His ears then twitched and he looked over.
'Tomb of the dead..the curses laced through the walls? Those take time to activate and kick in, and only work on those that are not resistant to it. The dangers back home are near instant. You need a quick mind to avoid something, or fend it off. Sometimes conflicts occur when someones level headedness disappears for one reason or another. That's a hazard like anything else.
He raised his brow and shook his head. 'I don't really feel that you intend to cause harm. I don't fight unless I feel threatened, let alone harm a creature that cant defend themselves in the same way I can.'
'Its strange. Many of the locals here don't care or give the time of day. Not...everyone but a good number are filled with personal ambition or greed. Its a game of corruption to them. That wouldn't fly back home..one try and you would get smacked down.'
He looked up at her and then the raging portal out to the north of the city gates. Aeion tried to sit back up and made a slight face.
'There is something about that portal I do not like. Its evil. Not natural. And not supposed to be here. At least, not right now.'
His eyes gazed at the swirling vortex and he wished he was well enough to rip it down. Zuri (his superior of sorts) could rag on him later. He had words to speak with him anyway.
