Getting past the Awkward (Xylia & Setab)(Rayvin & Dementia)

Xylia smiled. "Oh Im sure you will find someone. In my opinion they would be blind not to see how lucky they would be to have you." She blushed at her own forwardness and looked down at her paws again. Xylia didn't know what had come over her, She never talked like this to anybody before. She found Setab made her feel differently, a good differently, happy. She had never had that before and was very unsure of what to do about, or if she should do something at all.

Setab smiled at Xylia's words. It sure was nice to have someone speaking to her like a Sphinx instead of a piece of meat. Hmmm, I wonder if I should....no.... Setab thought, Aw, what the heck. Go for it, silly girl! After considering for a moment, Setab moved to kiss Xylia, her heart pounding in her chest. She hoped she was reading Xylia's intentions and wants correctly. She wasn't sure how a rejection from someone so interesting and beautiful who liked her for who she was would feel. She hoped she didn't have to find out.

When Setab moved to kiss her, it caught her a bit off guard and Xylia well panicked slightly and backed away a little, nervously. Now this wasnt cause she was rejecting Setab's kiss or because she didn't like her or anything of that nature. She really liked Setab and had she been prepared probably wouldn't of panicked and just let it happen but she had not expected it. No sphinx had ever liked her that much or had taken the time to like her, Xylia had never been romantically involved with another sphinx before. She had always shied away form social anything really, She always became awkward around others. Well that is until she meet Setab. Xylia hung her head, she didn't want to offend or hurt Setab but she was really nervous."I....Im sorry, Ive never..." She trailed off and blushed ferociously.


((ooc: now just to clarify a bit She knows of being romantically involved with people means and what happens/entails (her assassin master gave her the talk when she was old enough XD ) but besides what she has seen and heard form other sphinxes throughout her life she has never participated in any of it XD very much not social like i said XD sorry ))

Setab felt a pang of hurt, and she moved back to give Xylia some space. However, when Xylia started speaking and telling her she'd never done anything, Setab was surprised. "You've never done what...?" she asked, her voice a bit softer than usual. She was trying to hide her hurt. She didn't like others knowing she was in pain or showing emotions. She tried her best to always maintain her happy, smiling self. It was surprising to Setab that Xylia had never been kissed. She assumed that's what she had been trying to say. Setab had shared kisses and more with many Sphinxes, but she had never kissed anyone or been kissed because she was liked. It was purely part of her requirement as a Seductress. Setab was definitely not used to rejection.

Xylia saw the slight hurt in Setab's eyes and panicked again, She was afraid she would loose Setab. She quickly moved closer to Setab again and took Setab's paw in hers fumbling awkwardly and almost hitting there heads together. "Im sorry, Im sorry...I....I wasnt rejecting you." She hung her head looking at Setab's paw in her's. "Ive just never been kissed before, No ones ever liked me that much. I just ....well I was kind of caught off guard and panicked slightly. Im sorry, again." She cringed at her self, she was being awkward again and she knew it, this was when sphinxes would make up an excuse to leave, She hoped she had not pushed Setab away.

Setab was a little confused, but she offered a small smile when Xylia took her paws. Setab's eyes studied Xylia, and a flash of surprise could be seen in her purple eyes when Xylia explained she'd never been kissed. "Really...?" Setab questioned uncertainly. She considered her words carefully for a minute, trying to decide if Xylia was simply saying this to keep from hurting her feelings. Setab decided she was telling the truth. She sounded sincere. "I'm sorry, I didn't realize," Setab began. "I just thought someone as beautiful as you are would surely have been with someone before." Setab smiled to show this wasn't an insult, but a complaint. "I didn't mean to scare you..."

Setab didn't want Xylia to panic and run away. She wanted her to stay, more than she'd ever wanted anyone to stay.

Xylia nodded a bit listening to Setab. "When I said I was socially awkward, I ment it." She cringed. "I have honestly never been in a relationship, Ive never really had a friend or anyone like me or take the time to like me for that matter. So after a while I kinda gave up stopped trying to interact with other sphinxes and just stayed in the shadows." Xylia voice quivered. "Besides the master assassin that took me in, Ive pretty much been alone my whole life." She looked at Setab her eyes full of pain and loneliness. "Im...really sorry....I honestly didn't mean to hurt your feelings."

Setab hated that she'd made Xylia upset. When she heard the quiver in Xylia's voice, she hugged her tightly without giving her a chance to back away. "Hey, it's okay," she soothed, "Honestly, I don't think anyone has ever really liked me that way either. Aside from my customers, but that's all business... None of them really care." Setab had hurt plainly displayed in her eyes, too, but she didn't want to make this about her. "You know, you haven't told me much about you..." she said gently, suggesting Xylia share if she felt comfortable doing so.

Kamenwati could feel the tension between the two ladies, and he nuzzled each of their legs, trying his best to comfort them. He'd never seen his owner act like this, and his instincts were telling him something was wrong.

Hugging Setab felt nice, Xylia liked the feeling of warmth and happiness it gave her. She gave a small smile " Sorry and Thank you." She watched and listened as Setab spoke a bit about never really being liked either and saw the hurt in her eyes. " I honestly dont see how anyone could not like you." she smiled blushing a bit. Xylia listened a bit more then thought for a moment and she felt Setab's cat nuzzle her leg. "Is there anything you specific you would like to know?"

Setab grinned at Xylia's compliment. Daringly, she asked, "Does that mean you like me?" She released Xylia from the hug slowly, staying close and giving her a playful smirk. Kamenwati mewed at the pair, glad things were seeming better now. "I'd like to know anything, everything you'd like to tell me," Setab added when Xylia asked. Setab had told Xylia a lot about her work, but she also hadn't told her many personal things. Not that there was really that much to tell, since mainly all she did was work and occasionally attend festivals.

Xylia figited a bit, blushed and looked at the ground, "Y-yes." she stammered a bit still looking away. "Yes I like you." She said this time clearly but still looking away shyly. "Honestly there is not much to tell about me really. Im an only child as far as I know. My father died in battle when I was young and my mother simple couldnt make enough on her own to support us. We lost everything we had and I grew up pretty much as a street urchin. Untill I was takin In by the assassins guild." She shrugged a bit and looked up at Setab. "What about you?"

Setab smiled super big, all her fangs showing. "Good," she said simply and then listened to Xylia describing her childhood. "Hmm, I'm sorry to hear that, love," Setab said after Xylia finished. "So it sounds like your work saved you." Her eyes widened a bit when Xylia asked about her childhood. "Well, that's quite an interesting story. I was kidnapped by a witch because my parents were abusive. She cared for me and taught me a bit about magic and potion making. I didn't catch on very well, but I was doing okay learning. But then her ex-lover and I became involved - without me knowing about their history." She looked down at her paws, sighing; it was hard to talk about this. "He turned me to get revenge for her leaving him. Annnd then she was killed." Setab decided not to reveal the fact that she was the one who killed her kidnapper, or mother, as Setab considered her. That would be best left for another time. "Then, I fled to Ahket and became a Seductress. I've always had this way about me that draws people in - it's a blessing and a curse." Setab fell silent, hoping she hadn't completely freaked Xylia out.

Xylia went wide eyed at Setabs story. "Wow, you went through quite an ordeal." Xylia said shifting a bit. "It sounds like in a way your work kinda saved you too though." She smiled softly. "Do you like your life here in Ahket? How long ago did you come here?" She looked curiously at Setab. Xylia was fascinated with wanting to know more about her. it was the first time in a long time she had held a conversation with another sphinx for this long.
