((Hope this thread is okay here, if not feel free to move it))
Selling flowers in the market district could be tough, but it was currently what Selima did. She worked for a flower shop. She was often visited by the same repeat customers, mostly male sphinxes, which she always found curious but never questioned. She assumed they bought them for their wives and lovers in a show of adoration, little did she know that they also bought them just to see her some days. Selima was oblivious to this and though Crux wasn't the safest city, but it was home. She'd never left it and wasn't sure she ever would... This notion seemed awfully dull to Selima who itched to see different things than just the same walls of Crux every day. Spending the majority of her time in the flower shop brought her a meager pay of coins and much boredom though and she longed for more....

Abraxas had been having a very busy morning trying to keep up with his new job as a scribe. He just had to prove to his new boss that he was the right man for the job, and he was working his tail off trying to do that. On his lunch break, he decided to go for a walk around Crux. This new job is going to be the death of me, he thought to himself. He was more stressed out now that he could remember ever being. Just as he was thinking about all these problems, he noticed a little shop of some sort with flowers outside. Hmmm, those flowers are beautiful, he said to himself while looking at some colorful daisies that were displayed outside. Too bad this stinkin' job is gonna kill me before I ever need to buy anyone such pretty flowers. Abraxas wasn't in the best mood, but the sight of the pretty display cheered him up just a bit.

Selima was bustling about inside the shop, making sure the displays were doing okay and she gently arranged the flowers with her paws. "Selima! Get out n' watch the street displays!" Called the shopkeeper, her employer, from the back of the shop where she was making more arrangements.
"A-ah of course, Ma'am." Selima padded outside to see a young male sphinx she had never seen before looking at the daisies. Her heart fluttered at the sight of him. He was such a lovely shade of blue and his pale hair caught the light, making it shimmer in the sun. She blinked and found herself still staring. He's beautiful... "H-Hello...can I help you? Are you looking for flowers for someone?" She smiled shyly and used a paw to push a bit of hair from her eyes.

Abraxas was busy thinking about flowers and demanding jobs when the most beautiful blue-eyed Sphinx he'd ever seen approached him. Her eyes looked like sapphires, and he was mesmerized by them. He noticed her striped coat, and her adorable wispy red hair. It took him a minute to realize she'd spoken to him because he was lost in her eyes.
"Oh, um, no ma'am," he said, a moment too late and a bit awkwardly. He blinked his own blue eyes at her and nervously fumbled the brush in his hands. "I was just admiring the daisies." He hope he wasn't blushing. He forgot all about the problems at work for the moment.

Selima smiled at the male sphinx, it was a warm, happy smile and she pawed one of the daisies, plucking it up and handing it to him. He was blushing a bit, but then, so was she. He was handsome and she wasn't afraid to admit that she felt attracted to him. "I'm Selima." She introduced herself with a small shy giggle. "You are?"

He took the daisy from her. "Thank you," Abraxas said. "My name is Abraxas. It's wonderful to meet you." He was still staring in awe at Selima's dazzling blue eyes. "You're beautiful," he said, quite bluntly. Ugh! Way to make things awkward! Abraxas scolded himself. "Actually, you know perhaps I would like some flowers," he tried to recover. "What's your favorite type?" He winked at her, trying to appear suave and less awkward than he really was.

Selima giggled again, blushing more and smiled sweetly at him. She muttered a shy 'thank you' before forcing herself to speak more clearly. "Ah...orchids, actually...I love orchids." She flushed, watching him with her brilliant blue eyes, staring into his own dark blue ones. She didn't really buy the suave thing, but she thought it was absolutely adorable that he was trying. Her tail flicked to-and-fro, her attention rapt upon Abraxas and his handsome face.

"Orchids..." he mumbled. "Um, what color do you prefer?" He tried his best to break his gaze from her captivating eyes, but he didn't succeed. Without looking away from Selima, he fumbled for the coin needed to buy the flowers for her. Perhaps this ridiculous new job will pay off after all, he thought to himself. "Oh, and you're absolutely most welcome, miss." He smiled sweetly, although a bit awkwardly. He didn't talk to females much, or many Sphinxes at all for that matter. He usually kept to himself. "I'm surprised I've never noticed you before," he stated simply. "Perhaps it's because I don't usually come this way. I just started a new job as a scribe." He smiled proudly despite the fact that his job was a struggle for him.

"Violet..." She said shyly and smiled at him sweetly. "And perhaps you didn't notice me because I am usually in the shop, setting up arrangements...but today I'm keeping an eye on the outdoor flowers....and I'm glad I am." She said with a flick of her tail, smiling a shyly. "I'm Selima, by the by."
