"Yes, I'm here," Ailis replied curtly as the connection between the two strengthened. "Now, tell me what you have found out about my brother. When can I speak to him," she demanded impatiently as her grip on Pet's arm tightened.

Jendayi prepared herself and hoped nothing would happen to her husband as she relayed her message to the spirit. Angry spirits were difficult to calm when nearby let alone from a distance. "I have news, but you may not like it. I could not find your brother," she began slowly and then rushed on before Ailis could interrupt. "But before you get upset, I think it may be because he's not dead. The other spirits couldn't find him either."
Pet trembled as his wife delivered her news. She couldn't find him! He tried to slowly inch away from the banshee lest he be in further danger.

"What do you mean," Ailis screamed as her grip on Pet tightened even more. If this medium was lying to her, she'd pay the price. "There's no way that he can still be alive. "He went missing decades ago! He never would have abandoned his wife and child unless he was dead! Now, tell me the truth!"
