Dark Fantasy/Romance (Sort of??) (Adult content) The Black Jewels (Used to be a trilogy, is now a series lol) - Anne Bishop ; Absolutely love love LOVE all of her books. I highly recommend her as an author ad all of her series that I've dived into have been lovely. The first three books can be bought in an omnibus, too. So you don't have to get them individually if you don't want to. I own the first three books both ways though XD and there are a bunch more books she's added since I've read them so i need to start collecting again! XD
(May post later to add more when i think of more...my brain is very dead today x.x )

I want to add another great comic I've been reading called Wayward by Image comics. It's a fun (non-manga, not that I don't love manga) Japanese story that delves into a lot of fairly authentic mythology. It's pretty and fun and very cool, (-8 but I can't say more without spoilers. (If I had one critique, skip the intro's written about them in the GNs, they are just to back patting and self celebratory like the authors feel like they've invented Japan as a setting. They ARE cool and they ARE beautifully illustrated but I don't think they've reinvented the genre, lol.)

For those of us who adore Anne McCaffrey and her Dragonriders of Pern series, I thought you might also like this fantasy series ...David and Leigh EddingsI read the first 3 sets/series of books. It was quite a while ago, but I did enjoy them.

The Fourth Element TrilogySo this is a link to a trilogy of books I found recently that I wanted to share with you guys <3 I was browsing the kindle store and found the whole set for only a dollar and for a dollar how you go wrong right? So I bought them to give them a try. I have read the first book and am half way into the second now and I really have to say that im enjoying them so far. The books are kind of history with a fantasy twist. Its the setting of the Greeks/Persians and the war with Alexander the great but with magic and other fantasy elements <3 I must give a warning though this book is adult and has ugh Romance ... >.> not in great detail or anything but it is there. Also they are in the middle of a war so there is violence and torture as well. Just as a pre warning for people who might not want to read that kind of stuff

I have to recommend the Ancient Egyptian Mystery Series by Paul Doherty. I started with the first book The Mask of Ra. When I was a freshman in High School, and even now I still have a hard time not picking them up when I see them at the Library.
Another Series I fully enjoy (as of right now I'm reading one of the books and am actually sad it's ending) Is the Hugh Corbett Medieval Mystery Series that's also written by Paul Doherty.

I wholeheartedly second his Ancient Egyptian mystery series. I've only read two of them but I love love love his sense of time and place :3 I'll have to pick up the Hugh Corbett series too, medieval mysteries are another favorite of mine! (Brother Cadfael, anyone?)

Jean M. Auel - Earth Children series The Clan of the Cave BearMain article: The Clan of the Cave BearThe first book, The Clan of the Cave Bear was released in September 1980 and is a story of personal development set in pre-historic southern Europe during the current Ice Age but before the last glacial period. It introduces the reader to a wide variety of diverse topics, including herbal medicine and anthropological-archaeological reasoning. The book introduces Ayla, a young girl belonging to the titular clan who looks nothing like her peers, especially with her long, golden hair. The Valley of HorsesMain article: The Valley of HorsesThe Valley of Horses was released in September 1982. Ayla, cast out of the Clan, has been forced to follow the advice given her in the first book by her dying foster-mother Iza. She goes in search of "the Others"—that is, people like herself: European Cro-Magnon Homo sapiens, or early-modern humans, returned west and north to Europe after an incubation period of tens of millennia in the near and far east. The Mammoth HuntersMain article: The Mammoth HuntersThe third book in the series, The Mammoth Hunters, was released in fall 1985. It details Ayla's personal growth as she learns to cope with a society of widely disparate individuals and their unpredictable behaviours, mysterious motivations, and habits. The Plains of PassageMain article: The Plains of PassageThe Plains of Passage was released in November 1990. Ayla and Jondalar travel west, back to Zelandonii territory, encountering dangers from both nature and humans along the way. Her interactions often force the people around her to take a broader view and be more accepting of new ideas. The Shelters of StoneMain article: The Shelters of StoneThe Shelters of Stone was released on 30 April 2002. Ayla and Jondalar reach the Ninth Cave of the Zelandonii, Jondalar's home, and prepare to marry and have a child. Unfortunately, nothing is ever simple, especially for a woman with Ayla's background. The Land of Painted CavesMain article: The Land of Painted CavesThe Land of Painted Caves, a sixth and final instalment in the Earth Children's series was published on March 29, 2011.[6] Author Jean M. Auel is quoted in September 2010 saying that in the book Ayla is now about 25 years old and training to become a spiritual leader of the Zelandonii. Her training includes a series of harrowing journeys. Just don't read the 6th, you can stop reading at book 5 and it ends great as it was meant to be the last one. The 6th was just pandering to the fans and it lost the flow the other books set up. She came out of retirement to write it up and tie up all the loose ends. Also Fables is epic i love Biggy wolf
