Song of the Earth laughed and skipped about as she ran down one of the many paths of the park. She had come for just a visit. There was nothing wrong with that, right? The smell of the many flowers and fanua clinged to Song and no doubt she would smell like flowers for a day or two. Everything was perfect and absolutely beautiful. The sun glinted and shined down upon everyone in the park at full blast even though it was only in the afternoon and no longer morning. Nothing could ruin this day. Or for now that was what Song thought. She paused to smell a rather extravagant white exotic flower that she had never seen before. Curious she bent to smell it and found it smelled like a minty rose. Quite a weird smell! Oh well was all she thought of it. It was great to escape from the palace to this beautiful haven every once and a while. She sighed wistfully wishing Djehuty was here. That thief would probably not come due to the guards. She loved her kind theif thought and her heart longed for him. Perhaps he would come when it was darker and easier to not be seen. Song hoped that would happen.

Chione had spent the early morning in the temple. There had been several life rituals that had required her attentions. She smiled in thought of the couple she had wed. Life as a Priestess was good and she quite like her work. Now she and Kamilah were taking a stroll threw the park enjoying the scents of the recently blooming flowers. I will have to ask a courtier to place some in my room she thought to herself with a smile as Kamilah sniffed at an odd lily like flower the same shade of cyan as she was. Streaking through the sky at breakneck speed, breathing hard, Shen was on a mission! 'Got a delivery!' he thought, heading towards the great fountain in the park. He pulled up slightly as the ground rushed up to meet his furious descent, calling up a slight puff of wind to cushion and slow his fall. As the drops of dew on the grass came into stark clarity he beat his wings faster, creating an updraft just in the nick of time, landing on the ground on all four paws, 'touchdown!' he thought, 'that was a good one!'. Shen shook out his feathers and reached for his satchel, stuffed to overflowing with scrolls and parcels, "Mail Call!" he called out, taking out a scroll to read the name off it.

2 head popped out above of the flowers, Eraiya and Perlesse had been startled from their heart to heart talk among the many flowers present. "Oh dear, that was startling." Eraiya said softly as she pulled her scowl a bit higher on her paws and eyes Perlesse worried who lowered her head a little. She looked sad in a sense, but shook it off her and looked into the purple eyes of the Eraiya with a faint smile. "Thank you Eraiya, I shall try what you said." Eraiya Nodded calmly with a warm smile before they both turn their attention at the cause of their interuption.

Song of the Earth saw Chione farther down and skipped over to her with a smile on her green and blue face. "Chione," she began softly. "Good to see you and on such a lovely day!" The afternoon was so very pleasant as was the visit. She should really come to the garden more! Song looked up suddenly at the sound of beating wings and watched Shen land elegently with a thud. She tilted her head to the side in surprise as the messenger began to read his message. Who would it be too?
Song doubted highly that it was her but you never knew. As a couriter now she just might get something important or a silly letter. It might even be from Djehuty! At this her heart began to beat just the slightest bit faster. Out of the corner's of her green and blue eyes she watched two sphinxes, both pretty and elegent looking. She didn't know either of them. One had the looks of a fox and the other perhaps a magician? The sphinx had mismatched eyes just like Song.

Chione looked up as Song of the Earth greeted her and smiled at the Courtier "Good day to you as well Song of the Earth. The weather has just been to lovely to stay inside if I do say so."
Turning as the messenger landed Chione tilted her head curiously. Before turning her attention to the two other sphinxes. "My today certainly seems to be the day to visit the gardens." she said with a laugh.

"Alright! Got a letter here for someone by the name of "Hesio"?" Shen called out, holding the scroll aloft and scanning the crowd for someone who would step forward and claim the scroll. A skinny young male sphinx came forward, eyes bright, "That's me!" he stated boldly and took the scroll from Shen's paw, glancing at the writing on the outside "it's from my mother!" he stated happily and took off through the crowd. Shen took out the next scroll, "The next one's for someone by the name of "Song of the Earth" anyone by that name here???"
((OOC))(if you do not want one of Shen's letters, just hand it back to him and tell him that the name is wrong, he will move onto the next one!)

"Indeed," Song agreed happily. "Nothing could be better than a stroll here in the Park." She looked around at the many sphinxes and other creatures and had to agree. She nodded to Chione and watched as the young male collected his message. A letter from his mother? He must be pleased, this Hesio. She focused her attention on Shen the messenger though and watched him take out the next scroll. When Shen called her name she blinked rapidly in surprise. Someone really did contact her?
She strode forward and blinking looked at the scroll. Who could it be from? "I am Song of the Earth," she announced to him. Song held out her paw and continued to look at the scroll, narrowing her eyes hoping to see it better. Could it be Djehuty's writing or an important person at the palace? Perhaps it was from her peasant family or just a friend like Kierai?

As Shen passed out his scrolls to the other recipients, he felt a growing sense of unease, almost danger manifest in the back of his mind. He dug through his bag to find the last package, glancing up at the dispersing crowd of Sphinxes, happy with their letters and packages, only to meet eyes with a golden glowing pair of slit pupils manifesting themselves out of a shadowy rock cave on the edge of the park. At the same time his eyes met the other's, his paw grasped what felt like a sharp object in his bag and his mind was almost overcome with a feeling of intense fear. Struggling to overcome this feeling, his fur standing on end and claws scratching the dirt, he opened his palm, staring intently at the blood red shard of crystal, drops of his own blood staining it where it had pierced his hand.

Chione smiled as she watched the egar sphinxes receive their messages. When Shen removed his paw from his bag the last time with blood dripping from it she gasped and said "Oh my!"
Rushing forward she held out her paws and said "Here let me have a look, I'm a healer."
Kamilah hissed at her mistresses sudden distress and turned her gaze on the bearer of the golden eyes.

Shen keened piteously, the cut in his paw shallow, but the overwhelming feeling of fear consuming his mind. As Chione came towards him, he dropped the red shard, watching almost in slow motion as it fell towards the ground, only to be enveloped in a cloud of blackness before it hit the dirt. Chiones' cat hissing made him snap his eyes up to where they both were looking, seeing the golden eyes flash before they disappeared entirely. Almost instantly, the "fear" feeling subsided and Shen was brought back to his usual mindset, calm and controlled. He looked up at the Priestess, "thank you, I... I don't know what that was...that package..."

Song of the Earth happily grabbed the scroll and opened it. She scanned it once and smiled at the first few words. It was from Djehuty she could tell instantly. Only he could write this neat for her. If Dje wasn't a GP thief he would probably be a scribe because of his neatness. But, then again, he was happy as a thief and he only wrote neatly to her. To friends, like Jafari, he wrote, or should I say scribbled, messily to them. Song suddenly looked up from the friendly note and froze as a chill ran up her spine. She looked around hurridely prepared to run away or charge at whatever was causing this feeling.
Song then saw the mysterious eyes and let out a low growl from deep in her throat. She looked at the blood red crystal with horror and glanced at Chione then smiled uncertainly at Shen. Song leaped forward and stopped the still turning crystal, careful not to cut herself. She looked at it in horror and looked around hurridely before spotting a small scrap of cloth. She carefully wound it around the crystal and narrowed her eyes. "Who does this belong too?" she hissed. She may be a courtier but she knew how to get her way and stand tough.

Chione frowned as she looked over the shallow cut. Inspecting it she first hummed out a small healing chant to relive the sting from the cut before looking up at Shen and saying "No problem at all messenger. How...odd."
Nodding once she took a small bit of clean linen from a pouch at her hip and wound it around the wound and said "It doesn't look serious. However such a thing seems to me like it might be of magic."
Turning she gazed out at those few in the park and watched to see if anyone came forward from Song of the Earth's demand. Kamhila slowly made her way to Chione's side and took a seat there her eyes scanning the area.

The owner of the golden eyes looked down at the shard in it's paw, hissing angrily, clearly it's minor teleport spell had not gotten the whole crystal as it fell and a piece was missing.
The golden eyes narrowed, it was imperative that the crystal be whole in order for it's full power to be utilized. It was too soon to be seen in the park again, it had to have a plan of retrieval...

When no one came foreward Song bit her lip and growled again. No doubt the golden eyed sphinx didn't want to come forward. It must belong to that sphinx. Who else could it belong too? She swished her cat tail and slid the crystal into a small pouch at her side. This visit was no longer very pleasant.
She opened the scroll again and reread Djehuty's note. Nothing wrong with it. Dje had put no bad news in it. I wonder....she thought. "Chione and ummm...Messenger would you like to take a stroll?" Song of the Earth asked politely. They should get away from this part of the park. Closer to a larger group of guards too perhaps?
