Norfret relaxed by the fountain in the park. The Hand of Darkness thief was taking a break after her latest escapade, and was relishing in the hushed whispers and fear her latest escapade had caused. The small rabbit-like Sphinx rested happily with a jug of water, enjoying the peace for now. "No loud annoyances here tonight, it's perfect." She said, sipping at her cold water as she watched the moon. She hoped that, eventually, she would become an assassin, but would settle for her dark job she had now.

The moon was shining brightly, a glowing orb in the dark night sky. For now, Khaldun was at peace. The night was his favoured time - he could slip into the secret places of Ahket without anyone seeing him. Perhaps Jerry might if he tried, but the other mummy was uninterested in what Khaldun did. Neither of them cared for each other's actions. While entering the park, Khaldun took a moment to observe his surroundings, hidden by the shadows casted by the moon. There. By the fountain there was a small snow-white sphinx with rabbit ears. He might have thought her to be simply a toy, someone who he could manipulate and mess with, were it not for the daggers strapped to her waist and arms. Still, she was rather pretty and Khaldun might as well approach while she was there. He crept up silently behind her, wrapping his wings close to his body, and then seemed to appear beside her. He was rather good at sneaking up on those who were unaware. "Hello, dear. What might you be doing out here so late?" He turned and looked at her, tilting his head with a grin, noticing how her face (other than her eyes) was covered. A thief, perhaps? She was certainly dressed up like one, that was for sure.

She looked up from her drink, regarding the mummified sphinx with a nod. "Good evening." She said, smirking behind her mask. Well, he was an unexpected surprise. Nevertheless, he didn't worry her. He was somewhat cute in his own little way. "I am out enjoying the peace." She said, deciding to keep her more recent escapades to herself.

The rabbit-sphinx greeted him, and he could not see the smirk behind her mask. Even if he had, it would not have deterred him. Rather, it probably would have made him more curious. "The night does bring peace. I assume that is why you chose this dark hour to enjoy?" He flicked an ear, a large wing from his back swatting at a fly buzzing near. Incredibly irritating little things, though they were a pain to catch. It left quickly, though Khaldun could not be sure whether it had simply flown away, distancing itself from his dark feathers, or if he had hit it. Who knew? "I would be careful, though, at night. You do not know who might be lurking in the shadows." Now he smirked, but it was not all evil-natured. Not tonight, he was simply not in the mood to cause too much trouble. Tomorrow, yes. Most certainly. And he'd take Jerry with him to cause some mischief, since the younger mummified sphinx was still learning how much fun it was to scare others. Especially if they ended up... well, dead. But not tonight.

His warning got little more than a chuckle from Norfret as she looked at him. "I am one of the things that prefer to, how did you say, lurk in the shadows." She said looking at him. She tilted her head at him. "So, I've answered your question, now answer mine. What would have you out here tonight? Talking to me?" She asked, curious about what honor she owed this male since so many would rather scurry from her, and she kind of liked it. However, she also liked how bold this Sphinx was.

Khaldun gave a small chuff of amusement at her words. "Is that so?" He had known there was something rather different about this one - a clear sign was the daggers and mask. It seemed rather like what the Hands of Darkness thieves wore. Perhaps this rabbit-sphinx was one of them? It would not surprise him. Though, the fact that she might be small or petite, but oh so dangerous, did make him smile a little. For sure, she was a curious one. She wanted him to anewer her questions now? She was a brave one, though he couldn't say he didn't admire that. One has to have courage to face one of his kind without a single shred of fear, or doubt. A normal sphinx would have been wary, at the very least, when encountering a dangerous mummified sphinx, but this lady had no fear, it seemed. For the courage, he would answer.
"I'm out here because I, too, am one of those who linger in the darkness. And I decided to talk to you because you were alone out here in the night and look rather pretty, if I do say so." Khaldun smirked, winking at her. "And I guess I'm still talking to you because you aren't put off by me. Im an undead sphinx; it's rather unusual for a living sphinx to have no fear of me."

She studied him for a moment longer, before snorting at his words in amusement. "I'm hardly put off by anything." She said, looking him up and down. "You're not so bad looking yourself." She did add after a moment before gesturing to a spot beside her. "Sit, maybe have some water." Norfret looked back up at the moon. So far, this night seemed very promising. "So, let's hear more about you. Other than being undead and being one of those dark lurkers." She said, a hidden smirk playing on her features once again. He was interesting for sure, she could enjoy this company.

She wasn't put off. That was a good sign, at least. He chuckled with a deep, rumbling voice at her words. "Well, glad to know that even after death I got the looks." He moved closer, sitting beside the rabbit sphinx with a small grin. "What is it you want to know about me?" Khaldun tilted his head, flicking an war as he watched the lady curiously.

She looked at him, offering him a cup for water. She always carried a spare, it never hurt to be prepared after all. She did let out a chuckle. "Well...you're not bad to look at, so that's always something." She said, before blinking. "Hm..Tell me what you think I should know." She wanted to see what he'd tell her without her having to pry.

He nodded gratefully, taking the cup into his paws and gathering some water within. "I'm glad you think so," he laughed, flicking his silky tail with a somewhat dark goofy grin. "Well, for a start... I don't know anything about my previous life. Before I was mummified, I mean." He licked his lips, taking a sip of the cold water. "One of my favourite past times is messing with people and causing mayhem." Khaldun snorted slightly, wondering what she thought of it. Perhaps that, too, might be what she enjoyed. "That's all I can give to you, I'm afraid, though perhaps more can be discovered with time." He smirked, but somewhere in his mind, perhaps he was being serious. This lady, whoever she was, was someone he felt he might be able to get to know. She was just... interesting. "Is there anything about you that you'd be able to tell me now?"
"Also, what might your name be, if I do ask?"

She nodded, listening to the male as she worked on her own water, she did look at him a bit when he mentioned causing mayhem. That was a good start, but she'd be interested in learning more of this one. When the conversation came back to her, she smirked once more behind her mask. "My name? Norfret? As for what I'd tell you? For free? I'll tell you my brand of messing with someone or causing mayhem leads to some visits from Sphinxes to the Duat, and I like that." She said, looking at him. She scanned his face and body language for any sign of reaction.

He listened as she spoke, giving him first a name, Norfret, and then giving him a single piece of information. For free? Khaldun, too, smirked. They were... rather similar, it seemed. "Most definitely a please to meet you, miss Norfret. My name is Khaldun." He introduced himself with a flick of his tail and a twitch of his black wings. "It seems we have a common interest, then." He chuckled deeply and then took another sip of his water, unfazed by her mention of the Duat. That was one of his favourite past times, messing with others, and if it led them to the Duat then he would be even more pleased with the result of his mayhem.

She looked at him. So his name was Khaldun then? She supposed it helped to have a face with the name. She looked at him. "Do we now?" She asked, in response to his talk of a common interest. She would admit, she was happy to see he wasn't fazed with her mention of sending souls to the Duat. Not many in Ahket could do that.

He met her gaze, grinning slightly and nodding his head. "Indeed we do." Khaldun replied, with a flick of his tail and a small, amused glint in his eye for a moment. His glance drifted from Norfret to the shadows dancing in the moonlight. Quiet, tonight was.

She smirked, going back to her water. It was too quiet almost, but she figured she'd allow that for a little longer to talk to Khaldun for a bit longer. She liked the idea they might both be on the darker side of things, and since he seemed somewhat interested talking to her, it sounded like tonight was shaping up to be very nice.
