Dappervolk is looking promising as well, but it's currently in beta and we'd have to wait until it's public.
Those sites will also depend on adoptables rules, but all mentioned so far seem to have decent ones... and much better rules then PI.

Oh, they are no secret, (-8 ...but remember these are all just possibilities, not 100% for sure 'we are gonna do stuff there' and even if we do, this will still be the main home-base of all the Sphinxes goodness, (-8 We're looking at Furvilla, Fight Rising and Deviant Art... and perhaps a couple more depending. All of the sites were looking at so far are also all free sites so there won't be a need to pay for signing up, (-8 I'm on Fuvilla and Deviant Art. I haven't heard about Fight Rising. Have you thought about Subeta? I'll need to check out Flight Rising |

I am on Furvilla and DA. And about a dozen other sites. XD I am all for a free site though! I don't know how much longer I'll be willing to pay for PI.

I'm on furvilla and DA, but I will just stick to keeping track of Sphinx events here as I don't want to go running all over the place and have to remember something and totally miss a Sphinx thing XD

I'm curious, have you been on/tried Sylestia? It seems like something you might enjoy as it's got a heavy RP element to the whole thing. Also if you like pokemon you'll probably like this one lol.

I haven't really looked but from what I can see there's a pretty strong art community, but not really an adoptables one. Still I think they might be pretty popular on the site. Artwork rules seem to be pretty normal. The owner is active in chat actually quite often which is nice. He seems to enjoy making us grind for stuff, so he's not perfect, but he's like, THERE which is always nice. XD
I do see a Groups and Guilds area of the forums. Possibly that could be used if it was a Group for People Who like This Thing?

Man, Sylestia is cool, I wish I had the attention span to play it more often, I like how it's got a storyline to it! I'm on there but I only pop in once in a while because I lose my focus. XD

Sylestia is definitely on the grindy side, but on the other hand there are missions you can send your pet on without being logged into the site, and while there are some premium currency items like permanent stat booster potions, it doesn't feel like a pay-to-win setup.
