 Nubia sat herself down on a small rock. She had recently been made an animal tamer, and was not fully used to the whole system. Her ears flicked irritably as her falcon Amsi tugged at her headdress. She felt the hot summer sun scorch into her fur. She hoped that Gahiji would not be long. She had recently met him, and had taken a liking to him from the first moment she saw him. Nubia hoped he liked her as much as she liked him. Eager to look her best for this meeting, Nubia dusted off Amsi's feathers and began to wash her paws. |

 Gahiji couldn't believe it. His luck had sky rocket first when he left his peasent life behind to the job of a hunter. Then he heard of a new animal tamer, Nubia. The new hunter dismissed her at first, thinking, 'well that's good for her' until he met her. And then he wasn't so sure if he thought the same, or if he was thinking straight anymore. Gahiji doubted he'd ever fall in love, but he wasn't going to dismiss it either. She was a lady after all, and they tended to be... more emotional then he was? The hunter didnt know, shaking his head in thoughts. He was going to see Nubia, not stand her up. And there she was, with her falcon perched neatly beside in a content fashion, he thought. He quickly made his way over, offering some shade where he stood. "I apologize for leaving you in the heat, Nubia. I didn't think you'd be here so early." He said, smiling slyly but his eyes were clearly looking for forgiveness. |

Nubia's heart fluttered as she spotted Gahiji coming out of the undergrowth.
"The heat doesn't bother us, does it Amsi?" She asked her falcon. Amsi shook his head as if to reply. Nubia laughed. "Don't worry about that, I'm just glad you're here." Nubia studied her surroundings. No other sphinxes she could see had a coat quite as bright as Gahiji's. Was she... falling in love? She knew that feeling, but quickly tried to forget about it. She cautiously nuzzled Gahiji, her heart racing. "So..." she began. "Is there anywhere you'd like to go?"
Amsi began to make an awful racket. Nubia felt her cheeks grow hot. "Amsi!" She pleaded in an agonised way. With one last flap of his wings, Amsi settled down. "I'm so sorry..." Said Nubia. "He gets frightened by the slightest things. It might be because he doesn't like strangers, you see?" She paused. "In fact, we may just have to stay here... That is, unless Amsi starts behaving himself..." Her stomach lurched. Had she gone on too much? Nubia knew that was what she did when she was worried about something. She swallowed, anxiously waiting for Gahiji's response to her and Amsi's embarrassing behaviour.

Gahiji smiled, rubbing the back of his neck, then sidled closer to the lovely female next to him. "Are you sure? I'd be happy to move provide any shade the beautiful lady if she wishes." He gave a soft chuckle when the tamer nuzzled him. It felt like a cautious, gesture, and so he returned her affection with with a little rub on her back with his tail.
"I guess he's a good falcon then," Gahiji said, studying the bird closely. He didn't want to call Amsi an 'it' for that might upset Nubia. "You shouldn't trust all strangers. I guess he will get used to me, I hope." The hunter watched the two, a pretty tamer and her falcon. He hoped one day to be able to tame such a creature, but for now he was just a hunter with a future.
"I think we should go where you want to go. I'd like to know where you spend most of your time. And I'm sure if Amsi becomes restless again, you have your skills of an animal tamer." He said, tilting his head and nodding sincerely.

Nubia blushed. "Oh I hope he does get used to you," She smiled. "After all, this might be the start of many meetings..." she trailed off a bit. She stared at Gahiji's beautiful dark skin against his bright yellow fur. "And skills? Well I.... I don't know... You're a feisty one, aren't you Amsi?" She laughed as Amsi appeared to turn his nose up at her. "I think we could walk down to the Nile, if you'd like... After all, it is very peaceful there, and it's Amsi's favourite training place." A thought struck her, making her quiver with excitement. "I could show you some of his tricks and how to manage him... you know, for when you're an Animal tamer, like me?" Nubia purred, nuzzling Gahiji with a little more confidence, this time.

Gahiji smiled and looked down, he felt slightly embarassed. He didn't want to make someone like him, he wanted them to like him on their own. "I think so too." his voice was slightly accented, noting his parent's heritage and his own.
"The the Nile it is." said the hunter, holding out his paw for Nubia if she wanted it. "I would like that. I cannot think of a better person for the job." He said, returning the lady's nuzzle behind her ear.
