Beltane (or... the Wild Revel)
Cattleya: Welcome friends to this year's Beltane celebration. Years ago Beltane was brought to Ahket from distant lands by travelling sphinxes, but today we take yet another step and bring the festival to Hellas! We are being hosted by the Maenads, who were our guests in Khemet last Beltane. They shall be showing us some of their revels.  Burgundy: WOOO! Revel, yeah!! *re-thinks things for a moment* Well honestly my partying sisters and I won't be showing you an 'exact' version of our rituals (it's not for the faint of heart). Instead we will be bringing you a wild revel.. since that's what I hear your celebration is, isn't it? Cattleya: Well, it's more of a festival to welcome in the summer, something like this... Burgundy: That's all nice and good, but I was thinking of throwing a blowout party! Something more like this... Cattleya: Well, I suppose, but it is also a fun festival with feasting and maypole dancing, like this... Burgundy: Right... a fun festival, so lots of drinking, dancing and partying. Like this... (Warning: language)Cattleya: I'm sure that we'll learn a lot from each other this Beltane. Burgundy: Wooo! Sounds great to me! Cattleya: Happy Beltane to all!Burgundy: Or... Happy Wild Revel to all!Cattleya: ~whispers to Burgundy~ You're dressed differently then the others. What type of maenad are you?

Beltane Games

Pick a Flower and the May QueenMay Day is a time for picking flowers to weave in your hair, or garlands, to create may baskets, and other such lovely endeavors.
To make the game extra fun, I have a certain flower in mind. The sphinx who returns to me with that flower will be our May Queen for this year (and get a make-over).
So, let's go gather some flowers!
To Play:
Post a picture of a female sphinx you own (egyptian or greek, egyptian has more options for dressing up) along with your choice of one of the flowers below. Once a flower is chosen it's gone (it's basically a pick a door). If somebody chooses a flower before you, you may re-post.
After all of the flowers are gathered (doors chosen) Cattleya will shower you with Beltane presents. ^_^

Let's get ready to PAAAR-TAY!!WOO! It's time to get ready for the wild revel! Let's get revved up! Blast some music, dance, feast, boogie down, run around in circles... I don't know what you do to get pumped... BUT GET PUMPED! Woo! To Play: It's a Drawing Draw!Due to the prize, you may want to enter a female into this. Post an image of your partying sphinx, along with a drawing of that sphinx partying (or getting ready to party, or how they get revved up for a revel), along with the words 'Let's get ready to PAAAR-TAY!' in bold and red (any shade, burgundy would rock.) All will be entered into a random draw. If a female sphinx wins that sphinx will get a maenad make-over! (Egyptian or Greek can enter this.) If a male wins... you get bottles of wine. (Not much I know, but the Maenads ARE running this revel. XD ) My favourite will also get a maenad package of bottles of wine, grapevine crown and grape vine cert background. You have until 4:30 5:30 EST to enter*the Old Goat noticed that everyone was drinking and dancing and not looking at the posted rules... so he stealthily sneaked over and crossed out the time, adding a new longer time. There was no reason for this party to end to early he thought!* (OOC rules note, if anyone feels they would like the extra hour to work on a pic feel free to edit out and reenter! This is, of course, just meant for the fun of it, (-8) |
