I should mention that for the magically inclined there is a definite sense of magic around this door.

Rajan had been hanging around the back of the group but not quite fully in the back (he didn't want anything sneaking up behind him after all.) As they were faced with the conundrum of the doorway, he moved past a few Sphinxes. He didn't have magic, but he did have a sharp mind trained in language and writing. "I can try to decipher this if you give me a moment." (Okay, thanks Pooka!)

Julian sighed and frowned, thinking about this situation as it stood before them. "I think it's a cipher...but...ciphers aren't really my forte..." Twitches his ears. "But there is magic there so be careful."

Myara moved past the stone figures while shuddering. The statues themselves were foreboding. A warning of what could happen. She couldn’t help but feel her a coldness settle in her bones as she did so. Once close enough to the doorway she stood perplexed by the hyroglyphs. She was no scribe, but she was clever! If someone could read enough to get clues maybe she could help and offer insight.

Ammelia carefully looks up at the carvings and tilts her head. She goes into a nearby pouch and pick up a pink rectangular device, about the size of 2 paws combined. She turns it on and tries to see if she can make contact with someone back home ((think Skype. Pooka, let me know if a) its possible for the connection to go through and b) if I should roll for it))
'I can read many languages...but not this. Hanara could probably decipher it though...if I can get a hold of her!'
She eyes the others then at the stone..statues? Are these statues? Or beings turned to stone?

Amihan looked at Neti. "The two of us could help Rajan with the door"
He was willing to try and work out the cipher

((MA, don't forget that you're out of sync with time.. so it wouldn't really work.))

Neti blinked, nodding to Amihan. "I could try, I have been learning a bit of history from my husband." She looked at the cipher closely, trying to see if she could figure out anything at all.

Rajan looked back to Amihan and nodded slowly. "That would be useful."

((If you didn't figure it out, I'm actually waiting for somebody to solve the cipher. XD ))

((Yeah, I thought there may be small chance it 'may' go through, because there have been some time fluxes.
Can I roll to see if she can see what type of magic is around the door? If its one of a few elemental types, she MAY beable to do something. Otherwise they may need to grab TaRepy))

Julian held his staff aloft to light the cipher better, though his senses were paying close attention to any magic fluctuations there may be.

“Do share if you are able to decipher anything?” Myara asked the few who were within close range to the doorway.
