SPOILER: Click to show Was raised with several others in a government facility, they were told their parents died in the great war. Some of them were soldiers some doctors. Leimome's parents were apparently archaeologist. They had classes to learn the basics, Leimome showed promise in languages and arts. She could write stories that would captivate any who read them. As they grew they were buddied up with a roommate and had slightly different classes. How would you describe the teenage years of the character? SPOILER: Click to show She was raised to be an archaeologist like her parents had been but she always felt a little different. Somethings they were saying was not what they heard. At 13 she had her first vision in her sleep. It showed a fire in the kitchens started by toast jamming in the toaster. In the morning she told her roommate about it and they had laughed at her. until the fire alarm went off. The kitchen was on fire. Naturally, the roommate told the staff thinking Leimome had set the fire and had been bragging about it. The staff blamed her at first until they check the tapes of the hall and found she had never left the room. She ended up having a battery of tests but they showed nothing out of the normal. Afraid of things in her dreams happening she started to make notes in a dream journal. Somethings things would be soon, sometimes they would take a few weeks or months, some she didn't see at all. She found she could change what she saw in her dreams as well. One dream she had she saw her roommate trip on the old rug in the room and break her arm. So she got rid of the old rug and got a new rug. She watched the who thing playout that same day. Her roommate entered the room but didn't trip on the hole in the rug, she did stub her toe though. Sadly one of the adults found the diary and she was again sent for more tests. How would you describe the adulthood of the character? SPOILER: Click to show Turning 16 and still being forced to undergo tests daily she was given the simple job of delivering paperwork to different departments between tests. This suited her as she could keep on the move and gave her something to do. She learned basic office tasks and was soon given a job doing what she was already doing. Not satisfied with her past she decided to do some digging and found that she and the others were not orphans at all. They were hybrids taken from their parents to test how being a hybrid effected them. She found notes on some of the other kids who had 'moved' or 'got ill' and how powers showed themselves and they were moved to another facility to have more extensive tests done on them. The only notes she found on herself were cryptic, to say the least, notes about being psychic, Dream Weaver, a fortune teller was crossed out and scribbled in red was the word 'failed'. Plodding on in life when she hit 18 she asked to be allowed to go out into the world and see new things. They allowed her some freedom by providing her with a transfer to the council office in Shatter town city centre. Still living in the rooms they provided and occasionally having to go for random tests. With her gift for language, she was made an interpreter for the office that gave her more money and she soon bought a little travel wagon to live in. Not to pleased with her not living in provided facilities they tried to persuade her to move back by getting people to try and break into her wagon. But she had seen this in her dream vision and was well prepared and thwarted all attempts to destroy her home. After a few tried they did give up as she showed no other sign of leaving. When asked why she had moved out of the building she said she felt more connected to the trees and wanted to be around nature more. Marking it down as just her wanting to be away from the cold stone walls she had grown up with they made arrangements to move her wagon to a large local park, that they could monitor, to help her settle. Unknown to them in all this she had planned this since she was about 10 when she had a dream about meeting the one her soul was tied to in this park. Another hybrid, like herself, but not raised by the government. His parents had managed to hide his hybrid status somehow and had been raised at home. Lem knew if she was not living at the park by a set date and time she would set about catastrophic events. She is well known in the mixed community for her fortune-telling skills. She has made contacts deep within their ranks and soon she was trading with witches and warlocks. Many were worried about her at first, being raised by ones trying to rid the world of them, but her powers and skills won them over. How is the character introduced? "Do not worry darling. I knew this would happen." The young lady said reaching out with a smile patting the hand of her fiancé.
"I should have been with you I could have stopped it." Canis said stroking her bandaged face.
Leimome smiled reaching out trying to find the pearls on her dresser "No if you had been with me This would have been a lot worse." as her hand touched them they fell to the floor.
"Oh darn. Well, I guess I cant see everything."She chuckled as Canis retrieved her pearls and handed them to her.
"Do not worry I will do everything for you. all you need to do is stay at home and I'll wait on you hand and foot."
shy gave him a sad smile. "you can't you need to go on that trip you were planning. I have seen several futures and you need to leave me now for us to be happy later."
Before he could argue he was almost pushed out of the door by a big butch nurse.
"Visiting time is over. Come back tomorrow" she said gruffly looking down on him and his small wings.
"I'm just saying goodbye. I need to grab my jacket... from the bed." Canis stated blankly looking at the gorilla of a woman.
The nurse sighed and took a step to the side muttering under her breath about unpure blood.
"Don't blame her." Leimome said before he spoke "She has lost many in the war to ones like us. and she has more to lose yet." Leimome hung her head with the thoughts of what was to come.
"I will be right back here after my trip." Canis said grabbing his jacket and kissing her on the cheek. "And when I get back we'll get married."
Leimome blushed as she heard him walking out. "WAIT. If you see a sleeping black and white goat with a golden cat. Befriend them. It sounds strange but it has ties with our future."
Canis chuckled as her go to the door "Your visions are really weird sometimes you know that right?" running a hand through his hair he smiled " I will keep an eye out for a sleeping goat and a golden cat."
Before he was forced further out he called back "I Love you Leimome. Never forget that."
"I love you too" she called back the bandages around her eyes growing damp.
"oh no no. you can not cry it will affect your healing" the soft voice of the attending nurse said as she touched Leimome's arm gently
"My left eye is fine. I know you took the right eye out please remove the bandages," she said calmly to the nurse.
Slowly the bandages were unwound from her face.
One ice blue cat eye and one black hole looked back at the nurse. "Please can you help me put this in the empty socket," Leimome said holding out a smooth white stone with carved markings on it.
"I...I..cant do that. It's not medical practice to replace an eye with a stone. You'll have to wait for a glass one like everyone else." the nurse stammered taken aback by such a strange request.
"It's enchanted. It'll give me back my sight. partly" Leimome said rubbing the temple on the left side trying to fix her hair where the bandages had been. "If I don't do it now you'll have to cut me open to get it in later."
The nurse hesitated and after several more logical pleas, she finally relented and helped Leimome fix the stone into her empty eye socket.
After a few test blinks the stone seemed to glow and it looked like the runes were moving then nothing. when she opened her eye the stone now resembled a real eye just without any color to it at all, not even the black for a pupil.
"see I told you it would work," Leiomome said smiling testing her new false eye.
The nurse was stunned as she looked at her patient. "how did you know to have the enchanted stone ready? or do you always carry something like this with you?"
"oh no this took me two years to save up for this and the enchant," she said checking out her appearance in the mirror trying to get her hair just right.
The nurse looked sceptically at her "So you knew you were going to be attacked and lose an eye so you brought it with you? I don't believe it. no one can know everything that's going to happen."
Lemimome smiled "no not everything but big events keep popping back up." She paused for a moment before looking out the window "it's going to rain at 5. Don't ride your bike home it won't get you home quicker. Get wet and I'll see you tomorrow."
"How do you know I ride a bike?" the nurse said going a bit pale. "or that I leave at 5?"
"I saw it after the attack. You ride your bike to get home quicker but the rain blinds a truck driver and you get hit. If you walk he misses you."
Turning from the window to look at the nurse she continued "It might sound silly but please, don't ride your bike home."
As if a sign a bright flash of lightning lit up the room, leaving just the outline of Leimome visible for a moment, followed closely by a loud clap of thunder.
The nurse gave her a sideways look before simply nodding.
Leimome looked at the different coloured pearls in her hands "I just have to wait for the right time. I will see you again my love. but will you remember me."

This beautiful lass is honestly my 'oldest' RP character. The VERY FIRST I ever dreamed up and one with the most history to her and her family. I have not been able to RP her in MANY years at this point; the people I originally were grouped up with having scattered to the four winds long ago. However, I am still in contact with the person who played/created her husband (Seifer).

While neither of us have time to meet up to RP them any longer, due to life and things, we still talk about these two and where they'd have been in we had been able to keep RPing them. Several years now I have dedicated my Nanowrimo time to writing up AU versions of history and continuation for these two; which my friend has since adopted as 'canon' between us. XD

So while her original story is much more choppy and sad, the canon for her and Seifer is different. AND has resulted in MANY more children than they originally had before the group split.

Zebeynolu 'Zeb' Moondancer




The Game: Pathfinder modified. (this particular setting uses pathfinder rules but also most the characters have Anime Points from a system I created using a few other books and original content that is overlay-ed on top of the pathfinder rules comparable to the Mythic systems.)

The Class: Monster Trainer (monster researcher archetype). When Zeb captures (or trades for) monsters he absorbs their powers but this is represented by storing them as little toys he keeps in gashepon pods.

The Setting: *resists the urge to type three chapters* Yamasugi Golden School, Tokyo. This setting is a modern, fairly normal seeming world on the surface with hidden supernatural hiding on the fringes where the characters are going to a school the specializes in the supernatural. Yamasugi mountain (where the school is) is also a major contact point for extra-dimensional creatures becoming trapped in this world... currently a one way trip. The school is run by a collection of supernaturals, many of whom are Japanese and Norse Gods.

It's almost hard to get right into Zeb because the journey that he and a group of other characters took has shaped them in very powerful ways. Zeb, and several of the other characters in this game are technical orphans, raised by Valkyries, Norse and Japanese Gods (in a world where they don't really have a lot of power at this time in history) but for most of the time they didn't truly realize who took them in. It's another whole story about how they got to the school, but most of that was when Zeb was to young to really remember... except bits and pieces of horror from being enslaved by vile Loki cultists before being rescued by Valkyries including Tyra.



Zeb was separated from his parents long before he was old enough to really remember them but he did inherit a lot of their traits.

He's a sort of a loner but he's never really alone. Really he is always with the group and always participates in their things but he can easily get wrapped up in his own things, especially when it comes to stuff that interest him, like games or programming or Geishas. So maybe a loner who is always in a group.

Zeb has a ton of things going for him and he knows it... but he isn't a jerk about it. He's confident but not smug... he's not particularly modest but he doesn't brag. He's really really smart, charismatic and handsome (thank you Book of Passion children rules and some amazing parents!) but doesn't let it go to his head or take advantage. Being the comic relief has always been one of Zeb's real superpowers often using hit to diffuse group tensions, distract opponents and just generally maintain good group morale. He's also become acutely aware of his ability to influence people by accident and actually takes a bit more care with what he says these days... he sort of started the whole group becoming an actual gang just on an observational lark and now his ridiculous jokes are the groups motto... with a whole philosophy behind it!

Likes: Video games (especially sim games and rpgs and mmos), computers (including extremely advanced coding), toys (gashepon in particular), geishas, junk food, pokemon, roleplaying, pop culture and origami.

Dislikes: group disharmony, that look his sister gives him if he wears the wrong clothes, how much he loves junk food even though he's smart enough not to eat it.

Relationships: When many of the group began to enter into the world of dating (ie. the teenage hormones hit the group) some of Zeb's meddling sisters who loved setting people up were frustrated with Zeb's lack of interest in the topic... but really he just was not ready for dating and kind of knew it. He as happy to watch his friends start to date and 'couple up'... any romance he needed came from dating sims. Around this time another one of his friends, Eiko, was also on the Love Club radar, but she couldn't date because of her profession as a geisha. Zeb put forth a sort of proposition that, as friends, they could sort of hang out together and partner up when the situation demanded... like when couples would sit together on the bus or in the movies etc, they could always just be together and not feel left out. They were already good friends and things worked out great! er, perhaps to great... their chemistry grew into a secret relationship, and both of them work hard to maintain the secrets, mostly for Eiko's reputation. He also knows that she went to great lengths and made some personally dificult life choices to be able to make things work for them. He'd do anything for her up to and including ending everything for her sake and supports her life goal of being a perfect and amazing geisha.

Their relationship took an extra turn when an eccentric and very wealthy patron of the Yamasugi Geishas took interest in Eiko and began to formally pursue her to become her Danna... a Geisha's patron. She dodged the him for a while but he was very persistent and Eiko couldn't help but accept his very generous offer and contract. There are a lot more notes that could go here, but that is Eiko's story, not Zebs. ...but it does end in a delicate love triangle. Everyone involved is aware and managing for now but there are definitely some complications! For instance Eiko's Danna often holds wildly interesting events (such as hosting a film viewing of Aquaman in the Tokyo Aquarium along with a fun themed party) which Zeb didn't go to, even when all of his other friends did... it would just be awkward.

Zeb has a few other close friends as well. Shen, a jackal headed genie who lives in Mayolin's magic mansion who also has a love of video games, and Suzuko a dragon cyborg who has been hanging out in Mayolin's place as well in order to give her some space... as a huge robot dragon, she has not had a lot of options over the last 15 years having to remain hidden. He'd already knew Suzuko through their internet circle of friends and participated in the same forums and mmos. The've spent a lot of time together watching her cool stored Anime from a future earth and doing a lot of programming. Zeb's powers over computers is way beyond the norm and he's been helping tinker with her programming as well, usually just for fun, (-8 but also with some upgrades.

Zeb's also spends most of his free time with PonPon, is fairy companion. She's a pop-culture encyclopedia, internet wizard and nosy as can possibly be. She also has absolutely no filter and talks like a sailor which generally entertains Zeb to no end, even when it makes other uncomfortable. She has a lot of friends online who obviously don't know shes a fairy. Even though she loves to play online, watch every anime she can binge and is constantly taking in all manor of pop-culture, her current favorite thing is a taxidermied alligator skull that Eiko bought for her in New Orleans when she was at Mardi Gras with her Danna. She's virtually moved into the thing as her home base for roleplaying Tinkerbell vs Captain Hook adventures and views herself as a might slayer of monsters!


The Adventure!: I'll have to write this up later... as a group post for the Yamasugi Outlaws. The overarching plot involves stopping the evil forces of Loki and his Loki-Yokai in order to free the Yamasugi Yggdrasil in order to use it to access other worlds and find... and possibly rescue their parents!

Harper's Tale is a text-based online roleplaying game, a simulation of the world of Pern, created by Anne McCaffrey in her "Dragonriders of Pern" novels.

Meet my character, Magen

I am a woman all of 5'2, 118lbs, with an hourglass build, who has blue eyes, finely groomed eyebrows, long eyelashes, and thick rich chestnut colored hair. I usually wear my hair in one single braid. I have fair skin, and a clear complexion. A straight nose, full lips. I'm often seen chewing on my bottom lip, when deep in thought. My voice has a slightly husky tone. Today I'm wearing a pair of neutral cotton baggy pants with a drawstring waistband, drawstring ankles, and an oversized long tailed gauzy shirt. Baggy! Sleeves rolled up to my elbows. Old well worn, comfortable sandals with leather soles and straps. An apron that is sadly in need of a scrubbing, but laundry was a little behind and no clean aprons were available. Maybe I'll just burn it at the days end?

Common Knowledge

Few know the true me, but most know that above all else I’m dedicated and hardworking. My dedication though, this is what I’m pretty much known for. But nobody's perfect of course and I have less pleasant traits too. My quiet reserve sometimes can be regarded as distant and cold in manner; unfriendly. Fortunately my hardworking nature assures this isn't the case very often.

Relationships

I have grown up to be distrustful of men, especially dragonriders. And just so you know … I carry a knife under my apron. It’s a trader clan’s tradition of an antler handle with a mounted stone, carefully weighed and placed to properly balance the knife for throwing … ridiculous, to anyone who has ever thrown a knife. It’s 'not' a throwing knife, it is a stabbing knife. It is never to be drawn for trivial or mundane purposes and must taste blood before it can be re-sheathed, even if I have to nick my own finger … not true, but it makes an excellent tale. It’s my eating knife that I carry under my apron. Or is it?

History

My mother died when I was 12 Turns. The only thing I know about her past is that she was from Keroon Hold. Her family disowned her because they were ashamed of her. She had made a mistake. One night of passion had left her pregnant and her guilt was hers alone to bear. An unscrupulous rider can easily take advantage of a pretty young girl then fly away without any second thoughts. She never spoke his name. I DO NOT know who my father is. The only thing I do know … he was a visiting rider from Igen Weyr. She moved to Igen Weyr hoping for support for her child. Didn't happen. We lived a hard life, but we had each other. I had a loving mother.

I lost most of my childhood to Igen Weyr's Bazaar. I dressed like a boy, acted like a boy and made a meager living running errands for bazzar merchants. Not all were revered, hallowed, bazzarfolk, and somehow I found myself mixed up with a shady dealer. A dealer with an inventory of stolen goods. I didn't steal but when the dealer was detained for questioning I became his scapegoat. I quickly found myself a refugee, hiding, traveling with a trader caravan.

The trader clan adopted me straight away. No questions asked. Life was not always easy but I felt safe. Safe enough that I didn't have to pretend to be something I was not. I was not a boy! I worked hard to earn my keep. The whole clan saw to my guardianship, my tutelage. The time passed. Sometimes slowly, other times quickly. I soon became the centre of attention to a few males in the caravan. My mother's sins were always there to haunt me. It was time to leave. With heartfelt good-byes I waited for my ride to Southern Weyr as the caravan continued on its way. A double clutch at Igen Weyr had dragonriders coming and going continually.

Now it is common knowledge that I have a fond dislike for dragonriders, right? Male dragonriders! But I was so looking forward to riding a dragon …

… I'm now 20 Turns. I've been here awhile, keeping my head low and I find I can almost make myself invisible among the kitchen drudges.
It's hard work and keeps me out of trouble. Out of harms way. Yeah! Yeah? Oh, who am I kidding!

Fire Lizards are about the size of a large bird. They come in all the same colors as dragons, and the temperament of said colors correspond to their larger cousins. Unlike dragons, however, both green and gold Fire Lizards are fertile. The clutches of green Fire Lizards often do not survive to hatch, as green Fire Lizards will often leave the clutch or lay clutches in unsafe areas. They have three sets of eyelids, the innermost being a transparent membrane that allows the lizard to see where it is going while its eyes remain protected from harsh environments, such as space. Depending on how awake they are, all three can be open.

Unlike dragons, men and women can Impress any color of fire lizard, and they do not need to be a certain age to do so. Also, a person can Impress multiple fire lizards. Fire lizards lack the ability to communicate in words, but can have limited success telepathically communicating pictures and thoughts. They are, however, strongly affected by emotions and events around them, to the point of hysteria.

Fire lizards are very sociable creatures, who travel in fairs and love to sing. There seems to be a group consciousness, on a basic level, that allows all fire lizards to experience large events. For example, the new fire lizards of the Ninth Pass knew about the volcano eruption at Landing, even though they were not alive for it. There has also been speculation that fire lizards are immortal, or so long lived as to appear so, as they don't appear to age and no one has ever seen one to die of old age or disease.

Sage ~ Toasted apple runs across her slick form, pale green tumbled with deep apple-skin in sliced slithers of green which are all tossed together to cover her form in a mumbled jumble of tones. Heavy-boned head is hidden beneath the apple-peel red and green that dapples her, red melting into green as it works it's way up and around her bulging eyes, along headknobs which ones more slip into the deep crimson darkness of plump red apples. Each 'ridge down her neck to her tail is tipped with carmine, which bleeds into fleshly apple white, before bubbling into the mass of greens that makes up her hide - while her paws and belly are coated in a toasty, golden brown, buttery golden on her neat talons.

Dagaz ~ This firelizard has hues of deep burnished bronze caressing over his muzzle and headknob, before trailing down neckridges and dispersing over a mottled hide. Ascending from curving claws with blackened steel like talons, and a slightly shortened tail, is the dappled hide with a distinct contrast of dark to darker. Flecks of honey-gold run through his soft underbelly. His well-formed body transforms strength to a sculptured stone like pose. His eyes whirl slowly in concentration. Warrior Nature, still a work in progress.

Rune ~ A triangular head with whirling jeweled eyes, begins the smooth flow of mottled dark to darker brown from his headknobs, over his shoulders, and down his breast to his softer underbelly. His webbed translucent wing sails reflect the light and sparkle when held in the sun as if tiny platelets of metallic hematite are intergrown. Spiny knobs and a diamond hatch body pattern trailing from the tip of a nose to the end of a tail.

OKie okie. I've been loving people sharing their characters. ALL characters are always welcome, again. Just putting that out there.

THIS ... is going to be another sad addition from me. XD I fell in LOVE with this character and I only got to play with her ONE TIME in a one-shot with my group. I gave a small snippet of details in the Heb thread. But I also just got the artpiece from someone for her. I had hoped they'd have been done before my session and I would be able to convince Jordan and Kosu to keep playing the siblings if we moved into full campaign. BUT sadly Mark (our DM) decided the timeline would be taking place roughly 200-300 years AFTER the events of our one-shot. And even Tieflings don't live THAT long. SO..

This is Inza Yavine.

She is my first ever Tiefling - Sorceress set in a homebrew one-shot of DnD 5e. (Spoilered for massive image. XD)

Her siblings are Atreus (older by minutes brother) and Eltira (older by a minute sister). The three are infact triplets BUT all fraternal. Atreus and Inza are both full tieflings and Eltira is a mix of Aasimar and Tiefling. Their mother was a bard adventurer who died before they became teens. The events surrounding her death are what turned Inza into the nearly pure white tiefling she is now. Tweaking the innate magics of her bloodlines with abominations psionic magics in her most formative years. She became what is called 'aberrant mind' line. And it left her with more than simply a larger understanding of magics beyond most sorcerers.

As the triplets were saved by the remaining members of their mother's party (the ranger of which also died in the fight to get Inza back) meant there was only one thing they could do upon growing up. That was go adventuring.

Eltira became like their 'uncle' - a blood hunter. As well as continued to be haunted by their mother's spirit or memory. (We didn't get to delve into this). Atreus took the oath of vengeance and became a paladin to protect what remained of his family. Also further suffering from 'big brother syndrome' when it came to anyone smaller than he. Especially if they were female children.


I can say, the TINY bit of side talk/personality building RP I got to do with Jordan and Kosu was VASTLY entertaining. And often devolved into two of the three siblings choosing to actively pick on one other. RARELY did the two gang up on Inza because she's the baby and she pouts. Mostly because she knows it gets her out of trouble. BUT YEA... This is my bab.

I also have made a new character for the FULL campaign (same group/dm etc) but no art and I'm still working out that MESS of personality. XD SO SQUEEE

So.. I might not be able to play as Harper currently but my friend and I do still love our individual characters from that game. I'm currently working on getting him to join me in another PTU game in future maybe as these two. We'll see how that goes.

BUT I suppose an update is in order?

Harper (mine) and Felix (Tom's) characters are an official item! XD

They had just started to admit they liked eachother near the tail end of the second 'season' of the original PTU game I was in. And had sort of gone on like two psuedoe dates. Mostly done as 'fade to black' and details worked out between Tom and I in DM's because well it wasn't ever meant to be hugely RP'd in the group stories. Too many other things going on and neither Tom nor I were comfortable verbally flirting with eachother. XD 1. while we're both adults we are also both married to separate individuals. And sometimes voice RP feels too intimate to me. SO we were happy to leave it to google doc story telling and small side chats. Things like: Here's a list of things Felix would know about Harper. Or here's the list of things Harper would know about Felix. Anyways. Its weird. I know okay :P

But we did end up talking about what happened after Harper and Felix 'rode off into the sunset together' when Tom and I each left the PTU game/server. Felix wanted to stay with Harper because of things that happened to her during the game and how it affected her mentally. She was going to a town on the other side of the region they were exploring (Noxton of Garumso) to see her sister Taylor. Taylor having moved into Noxton because of a joke gone canon between another DM and I as we ran 'season 3' the group who started in Noxton.

There's a lot to unpack there. BUT suffice it to say Felix goes with Harper and they live in Noxton for a couple of months leading up to the time when the group who was 'season 3' enters the city. For canon reasons Harper and Felix are not there because well.. they weren't. That was Mackenzie's group and I wasn't able to be Harper during that timeline.

But now Harper and Felix have taken a small sojourn back to his home region (Zodia; created by Tom for his character) in order for Felix to see his parents, check in on them, and tell them about things he'd been hiding about the time in Garumso before the two of them leave to visit Galar.

BASICALLY all this led to Tom saying, "Well Harper would be invited. He'd almost insist because he doesn't want her going to Galar alone and he needs the emotional support. Plus, he wants to introduce her to his parents. Since well she's his girlfriend now."

I laughed. Since neither Tom nor I discussed them being a real item and ICly we'd sort of left it as, "We know we like eachother. We're going to see if this is more than just 'like' but go slow because we're both a little broken inside". Harper was and still is VERY broken after events in Garumso. She's better than before. Less PTSD from the events at the Lab but also still weird about talking about being in love with someone. THough she admits to herself/privately that she is in fact in love with Felix.

I'm planning to write a lot of this down in my 2020 Nanowrimo in November and sharing it with Tom because he'll want to give his input. Something we've both had fun with when we've co-written in google docs and shared with the PTU server. But yea. It's adorable. I love our little pair. They're just such wholesomely cute nerds together!!!
