SO in the interest of not dragging threads into the off topic sense.. I wanted to make this place. A place for EVERYONE to just talk about their characters as much as they wish! Share stories, tells us MORE about their histories, share art and plans etc. ANYTHING YOU WISH. I will be saving a spot that will be somewhat image heavy for my first bab and current baby. Starter: Cinder (born from a bred pairing of her adoptive sister's Delphox's. Hatched while in her care and turned out to be a shiny. Shiny 'bonus' was an extraordinarily strong egg move: Heat Wave. This is what she learned FIRST about him as he had turned a whole slew of her study journals and current homework into literal Cinders within hours of hatching.)

Her aura has become shrouded/muddled to the point that it is hard to get a read on for human aura readers or Pokémon with this ability.


Of Complications and Communications

The first meeting with Harper will find this young lady as a quiet bystander, peaceably watching the goings-on. Utilizing inborn gifts of aura sense for gauging the world around her and mentally deducing where she might be most of use. An altruistic nature drives her to help others; only sometimes remembering to temper her natural bluntness with somewhat awkward but well-meaning femininity.

There are many times it's been remarked that she's overly direct, pushy, and lacks a willingness to drag out situations; especially in times of stress. While the former is true, it is not a permanent state of mind. The situation being what it is, Harper's current default moods are filled with out-right snark or embarrassed verbal rambling; both of which are the clearest signs that she is struggling to find her center in the dangerous desert sands of Garumso.

She views Pokémon as individually intelligent, living beings with 'souls', and intrinsic motivations. They, as a whole, deserve respect and in many cases, cautious fear because they have abilities that far exceed what the average human can do.

Her reasons for coming to this region were the lure of new information and discoveries in the occult research fields, most particularly in psychic phenomenon. Having been raised but a loving yet uninformed family of researchers, she seeks to better understand and harness the powers she was born into. What that will entail for her future she is uncertain but eager to experience and study.


All Things Earned Through Hard-Work, Study, and Determination

At her core, she is still learning her place in this world and seeking to leave a stamp on it in the only ways she knows how. Current life goals for Harper include assisting Cinder in his evolutionary journey and her own as his trainer and lifelong friend. While detouring to explore the realms of the paranormal and how they might play in the future world of Pokémon at large.

Note: Harper was adopted and raised by this family; has always had innate abilities with aura and mild psychic skills. Because of this, she's always had more interest in the occult; seeking answers that might lead to her past and into a better future.

I apologize for the HYPER zoom on that. In our Roll20 server the maps are MASSIVE so seeing some of the smaller sprites is really hard. But that's a visual since we use mon that are not actually a part of the real PokéDexes. Both of those are the first stages to the mon. And there is ONE other Garumso I'm DEAD SET on Harper meeting and attaining. ^^ Because for her story it's PERFECT. I also have a great team for my tournament battles; an NPC character I get to play and test people with.

So, I might just be chattering into the void but I imagine SOMEONE might read so.. My other character/NPC is Sati Ti-Nefer-Hotep.

She is canonically/officially a championship challenger and yet undefeated trainer in our Region of Garumso.



Her team is, of course, themed to my FAVORITE things.

She also has a couple other mon back in her temple that are all different gods/goddesses. But this is her official team as was 'televised' for the massive championship tournament we held. She is one of 2 trainers to have gone 4 wins - 0 losses; and even ended in a draw with the other character (Morgan). It.. was a four hour battle of attrition. XD



The above video is a theme song used by Morgan during the championship.. and Sati has decided she needs it more. They came to the agreement he'd allow her to use it from now on; once he comes to visit her temple and adopt out one of the jangmo-o she's bred there from Ammit. (Ammit SCARES everyone. XD My little devourer.. mUAHAHAHAHAHHA)

Enjoy some theme music! And imagine Sati saucily dancing along to this as her mon come out as if summon from smoke around her. Dancer as a class in our game buffs the characters and Pokémon. Her team is basically a huge team of def/spdef monsters who will outlive everything only to defeat their enemies with hard hits that (while are fairly average considering).. But yea.

So her classes are Ace Trainer, Dancer, Stat Ace x2 [ Def/SpDef]. Basically I came up with her and proved that all the 'glass canons' people made.. were a mute point when facing Sati or Morgan. XD

First video embodies how Mac views the world around her. She has both people and mon in her 'pack' or family. She really is that song; and not in the creepy sense ;)
Second video is what happens when Mac enters the field and fights alongside her team. She is a unique class that battles upfront and center in melee. She benefits from her pack and they from her. Currently working to level her to a point where she will be able to command/control two mon on the field at once. Meaning when she attacks in a round or one of them does they will ALL be making 'pack hunt' AOOs multiple times in a round. It's a REALLY dirty mechanic. She's not someone you want to cross. She has a reputation for battling/brawling for fun, hunting in the wild routes with her mon who are MOSTLY carnivores and feeding them as such. She's already punched several other PCs in the face when they've come between her and a battle she started; they've started to learn.. sort of. Heh.

She is also close and partnered with someone named Phives (not his real name). They're sort of a Sherlocke/Wattson duo; guess which she is.. She's full out 'punched' him in the face after flexing for a stronger hit upon request. He claims it was for 'science' she just did it because he annoys her even as she feels the drive to help and protect him.

not seen that one before ^^ but i did have 3 characters in the DA group pokemon Rainbow. It's sadly no longer active but i still love 1 of the 3 characters.


Lady Grace was a bit of an airhead, brought up rich and didn't know how the world worked.
As the rainbow region was a new place she could escape her parents.
Robert was....brock. XD he was the butler/ supervisor for the family but he only went along as a chaperone.
Also, i didn't like giving one character ALL the pokemon i was drawing. so I split them in two.
But i wasn't feeling them they were too cookie cutter made. Don't get me wrong i still like them but they were kinda bland.
But things all started when i was trying to think of ways of displaying pokemon without having to draw them every time.
Then i decided to put them in Pokeballs.

But they all looked the same. then i did this.

And Jade was born.
Jade had her own DA account as i was planning to do a lot with her before the group came to a standstill.

She was a Pokeball painter.


All posts on her account were Journal Entries in character. Boy did i love doing it.
The whole system was you took part in the events and wrote, sketched, doodled, painted or any artistic way you wanted how you caught the pokemon.
taking part in events gained you rare pokemon or you could trade them.
I got this little girl from an event where she couldn't sing.

her expression makes me laugh every time.

Minkey that is sooo awesome! And what a huge team! ^^ I think my fave is your drawings of the Cyndaquil in the Pokéball. Also, those themed Pokéballs are fantastic!

I know many of the DA groups work similarly and I believe we were starting a workshop style area here on the Sphinx forums for our Sphinx-y characters.

MA - any characters are welcome. ANY AND ALL! Hehe it's just more of a place to chatter in general and at great lengths about the ones who live in our heads (and sometimes games ;) )

Pokemon characters eh?

Well, I may as well start with Eiko.

I have my two poketrainer characters using the d20 pokemaster class. They're currently stuck in a fictional version of Earth (with fantasy creatures hidden away) and learned that they can capture things like animals, angels, devils, magical beasts, etc. XD They can even evolve them!! Basically if you know D20 you can add a template to your 'pokemon' or even change it into a more powerful, but related/similar creature.

So I've made up things with Eiko like 'good subtype' Eevees (Celestion), Ysgaard energy Eevee (Valhalleon) and she even gained a raptor at one point that she evolved into a megaraptor with the half celestial template (Seraphtor). She was given a pair of white tigers that she made one icy (Wintigger) and the other celestial (Tivine.. who will eventually evolve into Tivinity). With so many 'good subtype' 'pokemon' that she has, she considers herself a 'good type' trainer. 

I think that between hubby and I we've been pretty darned good at coming up with Pokemon names. XD

Since she wound up in a more D&D classed setting she became a gestalt pokemaster (sort of like multi-classes) and bard (including the magic). Eiko says that she feels so like a pokemon because she learned magic. lol She has one spell to quickly change clothing/hair/etc with your own skill.. so she's learned how to style her own elaborate hairstyle and can cast a spell to change back from geisha to poke-trainer outfits quite easily.

In the setting magical things were hidden, so she was hired out to entertain as a maiko doing her Johoto traditional dances with her pokemon.. for those in the know about what was 'really' going on behind the scenes. ^_^

She gained the attention of a very, VERY eccentric billionaire who became her danna. He finds her the most interesting of animals to capture, mostly because he loves watching her find ways to evolve them. XD She resisted him for so very, very long. He was constantly trying to get a hold of her Okami-san (leader of the okiya and Kaburenjo) and after Eiko and her friends away on a few trips (on his private jet) she finally relented. ^^;
(A danna is basically a 'patron', a man who pays for all of the geisha's training, living expenses, etc. Typically there is a more intimate relationship between them.)

With their 'contract' he noted that he's practically never around so he actually gave her permission to have relationships outside of their bond. (very VERY unconventional) So she's able to see Zeb (Kezzer and Talalara's son). She was in love with Zeb before the proposal of having a danna came up, and her okami-san is very, very open minded and won't force her girls to do anything they don't want to (ie. taking a danna). But the proposal was so good, and Zeb honestly didn't mind... so she's sort of with both of them. ^^; (I have no clue what's going to happen with that.)


In the d20 pokemon class you can have up to your charisma modifier in controlled pokemon at a time (plus a few more for bonuses when you go up some levels) so she has a fairly larger team then in a typical pokemon game.


Her main pokemon that she uses are...

Wintigger - female (created by her)
Vulpix - female

She's also caught some interesting things... like a chain devil. lol With that class you can eventually turn your 'pokemon' to your alignment, so she now has a chaotic good chain devil. XD

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the celestion and her giesha clothing. Such a different and interesting take on the Pokemon too! Like, the alignments and such. So are they also elementally typed with the subtypes in alignment or am I just missing the mark? HEHE

She's in a different world, so we have it that the types/subtypes from D&D have been becoming new 'types' for 'Pokemon'. (I use the term in quotes because she's been capturing animals, magical beasts, outsiders... and calling them pokemon. lol )
So she's been excited saying how she really likes the 'good' type of pokemon, and was able to evolve eevee into a good type, and a good/chaos type. XD

Each time one of my poke trainers captures an animal, magical beast, ooze, outsider, etc it shows up in their pokedex with a bit of information. Such as, Eiko was taken on a hunting ranch to capture 'pokemon' and she caught a bison. The pokedex made a noise, she checked it out and it said 'Bison, also known as buffalo, are the largest land animals in North America." (I haven't figured out what to do about their numbers yet. XD I assume that they are just very high numbers that typical pokemon will probably not reach.) There were quite a few more animals she caught that day, but that's just one example.

When they came across a bound chain devil he just agreed to go into a pokeball because it was better then his current life. He's one of her favourites to train because he's so entertaining. He keeps thinking that she's some type of 'strange mistress' and has taken to training very well. Ha!

OH! She adores her gelatinous cube! We've joked about her evolving it into a gelatinous ball. XD When on the beach she put giant, comedic sunglasses on it and tossed a tropical drink inside... which just floated there. XD

Her eccentric billionaire danna is a world adventurer, and he brings her back exotic animals from all around the world. Such as... penguins and koalas. She evolved her koala to have the fey creature template. ^_^ She believe she called it 'Kopixiy'. (I have to double check her sheet for that name.)

Her white day present was two white tigers (that she later evolved). (White day in March is like valentines day for girls in Japan since Valentine's day in Feb. is just for boys. ). He doesn't seem to care much about the ethics of giving her endangered species, and she's from Pokemon World so she doesn't exactly know better. *cough*

He also has geneticists who work for him that have made her unique 'pokemon' through very illegal genetic engineering. XD (From the way Mr. Pooka plays him, I'm pretty darned positive that her danna is Chaotic Neutral.)
