~ The tour from yesterday was fantastical! It was shocking to most sphinxes, but interesting or even familiar to a few. All were returned safely back to the ground by the evening, with notes that there may be room in S.T.E.A.M. for more airships in the future.
The next morning airships ferried sphinxes to and from the immense airship above to both give some of the sphinxes of STEAM some 'shoreleave'. On one of those landing ships was Tameere. Her clockwork wings ticking, she flew down to the ground beneath the docking ship.
Climbing down the descending rope ladder, close behind her, was a curious, rodent-like sphinx who seemed to have a certain love for science ~
 Tameere: Salutations! As you know we are searching for a power source to fix our main ship, but we're not quite sure what we're looking for at this moment. So... with the aid of our local researchers we've put together a list of objects that you maybe could help us procure? Then we can more fully study them to see if we can jury-rig together something temporary to keep the ship running. Rat Alchemist: FOR SCIENCE! ~ Tameere pulls out a well used notebook that seems to have quite a few extra note pages tucked into the book here and there. She flips open the book and flips to a specific page, then clears her throat. ~
Tameere: We seek... 1. a cog
2. An open clock to show gears
3. nuts and bolts (not the eating kind)
4. an engine
5. a power socket
6. steam!
7. a bicycle
8. a motherboard
9. a potato battery
10. a watch battery
11. a rodent running on a wheel
12. a Rube Goldberg style Machine
13. Aether (or also spelled Ether) (time to get creative!)
14. Another, unlisted, source of energy/powerInformation about these items look is helpful, but actually bringing forth one is even better for research. Rat Alchemist: For the betterment of Science! This interests me and I will, in the future, aid the sphinx who does the best job. Tameere: If you're quick enough and interested, we can take the fastest one of you up to S.T.E.A.M. to learn Science for yourself. So, skedaddle, we need those components!

I have two prizes here, and possibly a third. Find or take a picture of all of the objects on Tameere's list. You must have them all! Then post them (in this thread) with the title "FOR SCIENCE!" along with one of your sphinxes and the item's type/name above each picture in this thread. ~ If you post a picture that you didn't take yourself, you receive one ticket for each one you have correctly posted. ~ If you take the picture yourself (along with a note saying your username and the words 'FOR SCIENCE!") you will gain two tickets for each taken picture. The first person to post all of them correctly (found or taken), as a bonus, will win an Alchemist job upgrade voucher. (You don't need to use it on the sphinx posted.)  The winner of the draw will get the rat alchemist. I do realize that the chance of having all of the items in your home is slim, so I have a special, extra. If, somehow, you are able to take a photograph of ALL of the required items, there is a mystery bonus prize.  Please don't risk yourselves trying to take these pictures. Remember that unless you have to leave you probably should be secluding yourself. You have 5 days from this post to enter.

Tameere rummages through the plethora of power sources "Oh my! This is stupendous! Simply superb! I'll have to bring these back to the ship and see what our scientists can figure out. At the very least I know that I could find uses for them one one sort or another." The clockwork winged sphinx looks through the items even more, smiling and talking to herself about what would be useful. "Oh! Imani, it looks like you really went above and beyound finding these items. Here, let me give you a little something in return." With that Tameere puts her paw to her lips to give out a loud whistle, and a tinny sound of huffing and panting could be heard from the other room as a clockwork dog came running out to sit beside her. She took a second to wind her up again and spoke to the 'dog'. "Here, you go with Imani ( Cameron) and listen to her." An echoing, mechanical sounding 'woof' came from the dog in compliance.  ((Some of the items were 'borderline' but still passable. ^_^ I expected people to try and get creative since there was even something on the list that didn't even exist! lol (ie. Aether) So, here is your bonus mystery prize.  )) The rat alchemist dug through the items as well, appraising and musing over what she could from the items. "Ah' said Tameere 'I nearly forgot, the alchemist said that she wanted to help somebody out with their future Science and research. I'll talk it over with her and see who she wishes to aid." ((I'm going to add up the entries for the rat alchemist now. ^_^ )) |
