Pooka and I were ready to work on a special fall Sphinx project, but we're on a side track now with something else Sphinxy, (-8 Something I'm hoping will have some awesome potential for everyone! ...but it's a sneaky secret for the time being... >.> <.< >.>
...other than that, literally nothing exciting... I'm feeling kind of the exact opposite Operetta, like I totally missed August? Where on earth did it go!?
It never really got to hot up here this year... a couple of weeks were a bit uncomfortable, but better than most years, just a bit humid. I think we used the air conditioner more this year than usual but more for the humidity than the heat... We're plenty far from any of the big wildfires this year, but we did still get quite a bit of smoke this year, though again, nothing like the last couple of years...
Oh, I really liked your pictures of old buildings rayvin, (-8 I love that kind of stuff and could totally frame and hang some of those images!
I've been tinkering with new no/low carb recipes and finally started experimenting with Konjac noodles, which have been a super treat. Next up is Konjac noodle Ramen which I'm excited about, (-8 I haven't had a bowl of Ramen since I dropped wheat early in the Heb and I love it so...

Oh, I really liked your pictures of old buildings rayvin, (-8 I love that kind of stuff and could totally frame and hang some of those images! Im glad you liked them Mr. Pooka. I really loved taking those pictures. As I said in one of my posts. If it hadn't been raining the day I took them I would have stayed much longer and taken many more. Lol I hope I get to go back up there at some point. It was a really small street but it was all really old houses and buildings like that and They all looked so neat. If you want I can send you a copy of a couple of your favorites out of the ones I put on insta so you can order a print to hang if you want.  Also, can't wait for any and all secrety sphinx things! ❤ |

We're still looking for a new place, but when we find one that sounds like a great idea! (-8 ...just thinking about it makes me want a collection of pieces from our awesomely artistic community, that would be awesome!
...while we've been sorting all our stuff and getting rid of things we don't need, Pooka found some cool artifacts I want to frame as well. In a stack of sketchbook pages she found two pages with the original Sphinx images she drew which were scanned to become the first Sphinx templates! It's almost hard to comprehend how much those two familiar pictures changed our lives and built this community, (-8
I also want to talk about our project idea so badly, but it needs to be secret for a bit longer to make sure it works out just right...

I've been quiet for a bit, working away in the background again. Like hubby said, we have been working on a special autumn thing for sphinxes, but became sidetracked with another, possibly very important, project. I'm hoping that I still have time after this to get back to the original project in time to have a mini event. ^_^ (It's also our 25th (silver) wedding anniversary in October.  ) As a side note, I finally made a sphinx signature for myself...  It's something that when I started sphinxes I never imagined that I would need, but I guess that after nearly 15 years it's about time that I made one. XD I also made a new one for Mr. Pooka. When he made his signature it was supposed to be his name 'Pat' in hieroglyphs. We had LD do the same thing, then other artists showed up with their own personalized signatures and sort of put an end to that format. ^^; I've been associated with rabbits since I was very young, so it makes a good signature for me. <3 It's how I wound up with the 'Pooka' nickname in high school. I told some friends about how when I was very little I was convinced that I was a shape-shifting bunny, and one of my friends pointed at me yelling 'You're a POOKA!!" and the name stuck. XD (Pookas are shape-shifting faeries from Irish Mythology that are usually associated with rabbits.) Way, way back my username was Pookabunny, but I changed it when I created my deviantart account since the name was taken and I wanted a change anyhow. ^_^ |

Ive been busy, between Gizmo, gardening, keeping track of others gardens..and family stuff. Friends came over on sat. One that we havent seen before covid. He showed off some kickstarter dice (one set had a kitty for a 20, the other a dragon), and he got us some high quality dice bags (I trhink from the same people>). We were able to finish the Exit! game as I had been mailed the missing piece. it was a murder mystery one and some of the riddles explanations (something clearly saying 'dont cut this' for example) was confusing (in the case above, they meant dont cut the page but cut along the lines. I was not amused). Still was nice to have friends over ^^ Im...currently experimenting with a dice set that I got for free. Its just plain jane white with pink ink. Im trying to see if I can 'awesome' them up Also....ohdear guys you need to help me!! They collaborated. And got me animal crossing (new horizons) as part of my birthday gift. This is the first time ive ever played...and I get lost in the switch now >> ((Sooooo....who has fruit that isnt a pear or orange? >>>)) |

Also, MA I have been playing animal crossing horizons since it came out. It was a had to have game for me since I had played and loved other animal crossing games on other platforms.
That being said I believe I have all the fruit, as well as pumpkins, bamboo and probably other spare things I can give you if you needed it. My storage and house are fully upgraded and I'm a complete item hoarder. XD so if there is anything you need just let me know and I can see if I have it for you. <3

I think im starting to get used to things a bit ^^' I grew a few pink flowers! Though trying to catch all of the bugs and fish for this month is driving me a weeeee bit crazy >>
Looks like I dont have access to apples or cherries. Peaches spawned on one of the random islands. Mums on another. Definately dont have bamboo and where do you get pumpkins? o.o
Ill have to poke when im ready to actually visit people. Soon I hope ^^

A special autumn thing sounds perfect! I wanted to pop in today and wish everyone a happy Mid-Autumn Festival (a lunar holiday by many names, and plenty of mooncakes to pass around)! I've been busy too. My new job (which I guess it now not so new, huh?) is in full swing and I've been working nonstop. I treated myself by getting my halloween decor up... since the beginning of September lol! I can't get enough of spooky season ^^ That's such a cute siggie, Pooka! I love it! |
