I agree, one of the coolest fall/halloween things I'd been to! The event's called Pumpkinferno, (-8 (I've seen similar places advertised!) and they do a ton of fun displays! I've got a bunch more pics... lots didn't turn out that great but it gets the idea across, (-8

Those are some great pics! I was wondering how they managed to get all of those pumpkins to stack like that. Looks like there was a framework to keep them in place. Also, crazy that they were able to find that many pumpkins of similar sizes and shapes to do that!

I love pumpkin carving, so that's really cool! There's a pumpkin shortage here this year, so I haven't gone to look for one to carve. I want to carve the Horned King!

I should really go back and watch it now that it has been done for a while. Glad you guys enjoyed it so much! I'm definitely looking forward to the upcoming event too :3 I really enjoyed Naruto! If I had one note to anyone jumping in it would be that in the first little while of the series the main character seems kind of annoying which almost puts some people (including Pooka!) off, but trust me it super pays off if you stick with the story and learn more about him... I hope that's not to spoilery! I actually watched a decent amount of Naruto many years back and I actually did get to the point where that wasn't a huge factor anymore thankfully. My biggest issue back then was the amount of filler. Now though I'm in a better place to watch it... or I'll just google what to skip >.>

Also, crazy that they were able to find that many pumpkins of similar sizes and shapes to do that! Without stealing to much of the magic (I hope!) you are right on, there is a lot of wirework in the background which is hidden pretty well in the dark... I think they also treat the pumpkins, drying them somehow (making them lighter) and adding a protective coating to make them last the duration of the event. There were quite a few more displays than I took pics of, like a musical installation which had motion sensors!

I know I've seen quite a few pumpkins for sale around her but I haven't really been looking much this year... but as I think of it, there does seem to be fewer... All I picked up was my cooking pumpkins. While they do make adorable jackolanters, mines gonna be baked with a roast inside... which sounds like a good Halloween dinner, if I don't eat it before then! I really enjoyed Naruto! If I had one note to anyone jumping in it would be that in the first little while of the series the main character seems kind of annoying which almost puts some people (including Pooka!) off, but trust me it super pays off if you stick with the story and learn more about him... (wait, the character in the dream sequence is telling us a fictional story, and in that story there are flashbacks? *looks around for the spinning top while waiting for the major story plot that was interrupted!*) aside from that, I love the series and all of the characters really grow on you.

And OMG yes, the huge amount of flashbacks can get annoying, especially when there's serious plot going on and it's just taking you away from it. We would watch the show saying 'Okay, this is a flashback, in a dream, where the dream is having a flashback. Seriously?!' (For those who haven't seen Naruto, I'm not exaggerating, that has actually happened in the show. lol)

As I recall, meanwhile, on the main plot, this guy was about to get stabbed in the face.
But by all means let's take a break for 10 eps and focus on flashbacks.

It was the early days of Peret (growing season) and on this night the gibbious moon hung high and bright in the dark sky. On silent wings numerous owls, many of an exotic and foreign species, arrived with letters grasped firmly in their beaks and claws. Here and there around Ahket the owls dropped letters on doorsteps or even directly in front of it's intended readers. These recipients seemed to be sphinxes with an emerging knack or potential for the magical arts. (Unknown to those in Ahket these letters were arriving in different lands as well, such as Lamoria and Katterheim. )
Curiously the letters were directly addressed to the sphinxes who received them and could be opened to find the following enclosed...A second letter was included which gave varying instructions depending on where the sphinx who received the message lived. For those in Ahket it was to meet with a 'Professor Magdalyn Shadowstone' near the needle statue that predominantly depicts owls upon it in the Great Park, no later then the 20th (or, in four days time from the delivery of this letter). She shall use a portkey for travel to the country of Albion to attend the school.

We're probably going to be busy on Monday and Tuesday, so I figured that I would put the prequel up today so that there is a couple of days to answer characters' questions.
(And so that when we start on Wednesday we can go right ahead and begin with Widdershins without much prepping before hand.)

BTW, if anybody has some IC questions (or OOC for ones I can answer without spoilers) Magdalyn is hanging out in the Great Park near the statue depicting owls for the next few days.
