Julian's Adventures in Manga
As a man of higher learning, Julian prided himself on always being open-minded to new learning. So, when a new school opened in Ahket, he was more than willing to explore. What he found there, however, was not just organized lessons on a wide range of subjects but an entire culture formed around an unfamiliar style of art.
At first he had completely disdained the manga as the students referred to it. He was a well-read gentlemen, and the classics did not come with illustrations, or if they did, there were not many. These books were nothing but illustrations! Still, he supposed that he should at least give it a chance.
So, when he discovered that one of his favorite classic tales had been retold many times over in this new art form of manga, he thought he should start there. With that thought in mind, he spoke to the students, found where they purchased their books, and bought several different versions and retellings of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.
When he reached his home, he made his way to the spacious library, and quickly devoured the first volume. Considering it was more pictures than words, it didn’t take long. Volumes two, three, and four quickly followed, and Julian had to admit that the works were enjoyable, but he still felt like he was missing the key factor. Perhaps if he spoke with the residents of these worlds…
Julian quickly set aside his latest volume and began his preparations, his eagerness growing with each passing moment. He rolled up the elaborate rug that covered the engraved pattern upon the floor of his library and gathered the rest of his necessary tools. In a matter of minutes, all was ready.
As he performed the, by now, very familiar ritual, Julian felt the wind pick up in his library and pages began to flip through the various pages of manga. He concentrated upon the volumes he had purchased and called forth the people from within. There was a bright flash of light, and the wind howled more fiercely than he was used to. As the light faded, he found not one or two but several people scattered about his library, and the spell seemed to still be working.
“I think I may have miscalculated,” he muttered to himself with a frown. “I guess a picture really is worth a thousand words.”

Prize Tracking and Rules Based on the number of people that played the games and the number of prizes, you may keep TWO PRIZES from this thread, whether won or gifted. Any gifted prizes must be gifted to another play that played the game for the prize. There is a list for each game on the front page. Special Rules for Certain PrizesDee and Dum are counted as one prize unless they are separated. Then they will each count as their own prize. The March Hare and the Hatter cannot go home with the same person. The Queen of Hearts cannot go home with any Alice. Any gifting should be done in this thread so that I can keep track. Knowing that he was going to be quickly overwhelmed, considering he was already outnumbered, Julian left his home and began recruiting extra paws from the streets outside. "If you are interested in a bit of literary adventure, come with me! I could really use your help!"
((This is not necessary at all, but if you'd like, you can post one of your sphinxes replying to Julian's call for assistance. Nothing will happen to the sphinx you post. This is just for fun. Also, you can now post. XD))

Onofria was caught off guard for a second until she recognized the speaker. "Julian? What have you gotten yourself into now," the storyteller asked. She and the fictionnaut had become acquainted since his appearance in Ahket last year. "No wait, don't answer that. I'll find out soon enough." She headed into the house and waited for further instructions.

Julian reentered his home, hopeful that the volunteers that he had managed to gather would be enough. As soon as he passed into the library, though, he was quickly surrounded by four spear-wielding guards.
“Well, my fellows, it seems our troubles are over,” the one marked with a diamond announced to the other three. “When the queen asks who has been painting her roses, we’ll tell her it was him,” he said pointing to Julian.
“And then, it will be off with his head instead of ours,” laughed the one marked with a spade.
Julian cleared his throat. “I do not think that would be wise,” he said as evenly as he could. “I could easily tell her majesty which of you were actually guilty, and I have several friends who will be arriving soon.”
“How can you tell,” the one marked with a heart asked with a tilt to his head as he began to look at all of them to see if they had any paint on them, which they didn’t.
“Just allow me to ask you a few questions, and you will behold the power of logic,” Julian stated with a nod. Who Painted the Roses?((Julian has deduced the following after his questioning of the guards. Now it’s up to you to figure out which of the guards is guilty. To play, simply post whether each of the guards is innocent or guilty of painting the roses red. Example: Three is innocent Two is innocent Ace is innocent Six is innocent Here are your clues. 1. If Three is innocent then Two and Six are innocent 2. If Six is innocent then Three is innocent 3. If Ace is guilty then at least one of Three or Two is guilty 4. If Ace is guilty then Six is innocent 5. If Ace is innocent the Two is guilty You have 24 hours to post your guess. The first person to guess right will win their choice of guards. The other three will be put into random for all other participants.))

"Ah... well... yes, I suppose I could come help?" Khet blinked and followed after the other male.

"I am always up for adventure," Masahiro called to the strangely dressed male. He had arrived in Khemet only a short time ago, and his grasp of the local language was... limited, but he at least tried to get his meaning across.
