Congrats to tierasa and Siopilos!)) Julian watched as the crowd split itself into two groups. One went to try to appease the hatter and the other to calm the March hare. Luckily, Onofria soon had the hatter ensconced in Julian's best chair with light piano music playing nearby on his gramophone and a cup of expensive tea in hand while Siopilos wrangled the hare and managed to convince him that it truly was not March and provided him with a new shirt to put on after he'd transformed into his usual self.((Sorry, Sio! I couldn't remember if you were playing with anyone specific or not!)) |

Onofria guided the Hatter to a chair to try and settle him down and separate him from the crazy hare.

Julian went back to his circle. He took a breath and waited for the dread flash of light, but nothing happened. He looked around the library, and everyone seemed mostly occupied. Now was his chance. He quickly began to remove the rune and replace it with the correct one. In just a couple of moments, the portal was closed, and he breathed a sigh of relief.
“Thank you, everyone,” he began as he turned to his friends, but his words of gratitude were cut off as there appeared to be an explosion behind him.
Pages from the mangas began to be ripped from there bindings and flew around the library in a furious wind as a commanding voice rang out in anger.
“OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!!!”
The whole library seemed to shake and a flash of red light blinded everyone for a moment as a female sphinx in red appeared.
“You,” she said as she pointed her scepter at Julian. “Off with your head! How dare you! Where are my croquet mallets and my hedgehogs?!”
“Ahem,” Julian said clearing his throat as the card guards from earlier moved on instinct towards him. Old habits were hard to break he supposed. “I apologize for the unintentional interruption of your game, Your Majesty. You must have already been in the doorway when it closed.”
“Doorway? Is this your fault,” the queen asked as she turned to a second figure that had remained hidden until now.
“Me,” the younger female asked with wide eyes. “I don’t believe so, but in a world of one’s own imagination, it is rather difficult to say, Your Majesty.”
“Off with your head then,” the queen declared angrily, pointing at her.
“Wait a moment,” Julian pled. “How about we settle this over a game of croquet? I have a set we can set up outside.”
The queen grinned as ferociously as the delinquent from earlier. “Excellent. If I win, it will be off with her head and yours as well.”
“How do I get myself into these messes,” Julian muttered as he went to fetch his croquet set.
