Welcome to a New Year!
2023 is going to be a good year, I can feel it!
On the Sphinxes front, I think everyone had fun with our Yule event... I did! (-8 This year we've got plans... big plans. Pooka's already got some amazing work done for some of this year's Heb and I really really can't wait to share. One of those things is something I've been excited for forever and just plain can't wait to play with and I really know a lot of you will love this! ...and that's just one part of the upcoming Heb... so many plans, (-8
While I can't give to many spoilers yet (it's a bit early!) I can perhaps give some clues about theme. We love to bounce around to different themes around her to keep things fun and fresh and always interesting... I'd say the North Pole event was fun, light and whimsical while our Heb event should be adventurous, wild and ...unexpected!
...after the Heb we've got another event lined up where I'm looking to try some new concepts and tinker with some play systems for fun, (-8 ...along with duelling themes of the mystical/spiritual vs the dark... the very very dark... There's some experimental ideas lurking I really want to share and try out!
Beyond those things get a little more... wobbly for plans. We've got a bunch of themes we want to explore and expand. We also have plans to do a deeper dive into Albion! Unfortunately RL really got in our way this year and we barely explored a fifth of what we wanted to accomplish in the land of lords, ladies and dragons. There's a huge collection of material we still want to cover there! Then there's simply following our inspiration as well as both revisiting some places, tying up loose ends and uncovering even more of the world!
---------------------
Outside of Sphinxes we're moving next month so we'll prob be pretty quite here for a bit while we're sorting and arranging and squeezing ourselves into a place that's a third of the size... it'll be it's own adventure, (-8

I did indeed have fun with the Yule event. So many awesome things popping up and such. It was really neat and glad I was able to get in on what I could.
I can't wait for Heb, it will be fun and I can't wait to see what's new!
Good luck with the move! I hope everything goes smoothly.

Ah, a brand new thread for the year. So very fresh and nice. ^_^ Yep, like hubby said, as usual I'm already working on things for the next Heb not long after the old one ends. XD In the very least we usually have a big 'to do' list and plot brainstorms to be solidified, and often I have some rough sketches done for things next year. The move may stagger that a bit, and I have one big project to finish up for somebody (computer breakage pushed that back a little bit), then I'm going to get started on templating. Usually I start late February to mid March. Angel_of_Music Thank you. ^_^ It's becoming tricky getting ready to go since, as hubby said, the place we're moving to is 1/3 the size of where we live now. And after being here for 20ish years it's winding up being a LOT to sort through and get rid of. ETA: also, now that the Yule event is over I've changed back to older avatars. ^_^ I should have new ones again by the time the Heb starts.

Hopefully, everything will go smoothly. *switches back to Ailis avvie* Ahhh... back to my comfy Lamorian self. XD I think empty space has a natural attraction to stuff... it's a bit brutal trying to sort some things, like huge book collections... but, as much as I love my cookbooks, for example, I have hardly touched most of them in years and am way more likely to go online or check my own written notes so, cut. (except for some gifts and family heirlooms of course!) Or things like DVDs... we hardly touch them these days but some are hard to find online, so several shelves of them are now one spindle of disks (and another couple of CDs for the jeep). A few of each are saved of course again because they look cool on a shelf and are full of memories, (-8 Oh, I also discovered that most of the Board Games on my selves were 90% box and 10% game so a whole bunch of them were cut down to a single old cookie tin (sorted in ziploc bags) and a small pile of game boards that disappear on top of a bookshelf, (-8 as much as I love all the stuff, it'll probably be a relief to be rid of most of it... eventually!

*thinks about closet full of board games* I wonder if we could do something along the same lines.

I can't believe how many board games fit into one cookie tin, like a Pandora's box of games now! (I organized everything in various sizes of ziploc bags, then cut out the names of the game from the box to put in each bag which made everything look neat and easily searchable, (-8)

Unfortunately, Retta has forgotten most of what is in our closet is jigsaw puzzles. XD I have a rather substantial collection. We have a few board games too, but they aren't in the closet. LOL We just have stuff everywhere. We really need to work on some sort of organization.

Oooo, another fun option would be to pour all the puzzle pieces together into one big bag. As a bonus now you've got some extra boxes to store your sanity in!

LOL. I'm horrible at jigsaw puzzles, so I'll leave that to Rasa. It takes her about a third of the time it takes me to put a piece in place.

*faint organ music can be heard playing and a beautiful, haunting voice can be heard singing* "Come to me... Come to me... Come..." "To your DOOM!" (I can't even begin to describe how amazing Pooka did with him. I'm still speechless and flailing in turn as I stare at him. For anyone curious, his "name" on the masked version translates to The Nightingale of Death. *stares some more at the newest piece of her soap opera*) EDIT: Also, for anyone who wants to take a closer look, the music on the sheets is from the Phantom of the Opera. Pooka actually drew the real notes!

I'm so very happy that you like him. ^_^ I've owed you this guy for a long time, and he was really fun drawing too! And... Lamoria gets another Shadow Lord. Muah ha!

*runs through on moving prep break*
We've caught up on a few movies that last few evenings and they've all been at least good and some really good! I'd totally recommend Puss in Boots and The Menu (because they have sooo much in common).
I'd also really reccomend a show called Britannia if you're looking for a fantasyish and exciting watch about 43 AD when the Romans were invading the British Isles... totally an R rated kind of program and obviously plays fast and loose with history but it's got some great characters and super interesting twists. There's three seasons and, hopefully they'll continue it!
On the topic of British tv, I think earlier this year I recommended Pennyworth, which I thought was spectacular and maybe I liked it more than the crown? I think I did, (-8
...and when I have time at night I've already been working on a game for the next Heb, (-8 It's gonna be a big one and I'm excited about it... well the whole next Heb has got me excited really!
