Okay... I may have a new character to be. i am participating in a cross Adoptable Breeding thing on PI. And I just had the cutest 'baby' born. And she is so cute I may now neeeed a Sphinx of her some day. She just seems to need to be made. Someday. And I am thinking with some form of Curly hair. So adorable. |

Wow, the wildfire smoke is intense here. I feel like I'm breathing in solid bonfire.
Pookas be careful. I'm pretty sure we are getting the smoke off the Quebec fires but there are ones closer to home

Before I mention anything about the fires, don't worry about us, we're fine and keeping updated on all the current fires, (-8 ...but I have been a bit slow with my work here (part distracted and part doing a bit or prep just in case)... ...For some random wind reason, the smoke is not as bad as a few years ago, but the smoke has been keeping Pooka at up at night here... also, there is currently a wildfire on both sides of the highway out of town that are pretty close which I am def not a fan of. They are both fairly small atm but neither is under control so we're making sure we keep the reports updated. ..slightly scarier is the one just north of us. It's only about 30 KM away from where I was fishing last week and it is becoming HUGE. Currently it's at about 4200 hectares (if you need some proportion that's more than 5000 football fields) Some of the highways just out of town are currently closed (not on fire, just restricted for firefighters and emergency vehicles). and of course there is the one just on the other side of Elliot Lake, but that one's at least being held atm, (-8 (and hasn't grown or changed in 3 days) and there's a few other small ones nearby! It's a bit crazy out there! Ugh, I had about 2 hours of sleep yesterday and couldn't focus for customs. I'm still tired today but not as bad. So back into PS for me. ^_^

Ahhh, take it easy. Smoke is so not easy to deal with! A few years ago some of the fires burning in north California and blew smoke down to the Bay and San Francisco area and turned the sky a bright (but also dark?) orange. It made breathing pretty bad, and my boyfriend couldn't handle being outside for even a few minutes at a time. All that to say, absolutely stay safe out there. |

We're all good atm, (-8 but with everything being so close it's just a good reminder to be prepared! Like when the cat jumps on your keyboard and you realize you haven't saved a picture in a couple hours, (-8 ...but it does make you contemplate sorting your stuff and know where all the important stuff is... and even think about what the important stuff is!
On my way to the store I realized that we can prob see some of the fires from our firetower lookout (duh.). If it's clear tomorrow I'll take my camera up there and see what we can see! (in case that sounds crazy, the fire tower is a tourist spot these days... no one really uses them anymore because of satellites!)

For anyone who wants/needs to go out and the smoke is bad, most sites recommend a good N95 mask which, due current events, are pretty well stocked nearly everywhere! (and feel free to ignore the folks who don't believe in the smoke because of whatever made up reason of the week!) I've got a couple boxes of good ones left, (-8 but, like I mentioned above, for some reason the smoke just isn't that bad here atm... but I guess it could change quickly with the wind so better to be prepared!

My sister said the same thing. She's up in Barrie. But down here it's insane. It's only 2 hours south and it's like night and day, smoke wise.
We are staying inside all we can. I just hope they get the fires under control soon.
