Welcome to Moonfire Island!Name: Althea Darkgaze Althea doesn't know much of where she came from. She was found as a child and raised by a couple that were very different from herself. She wanted to learn more about herself once she was grown so ventured out. As she ventured she began to manifest gifts she figured she got from her birth family. She can form blades of energy with her thoughts. And has a shadow that follows her. She often talks to the shadow. People do not usually see the shadow unless it wants them too. Some have told her she should be afraid of it and not talk to it. But to her it has not done anything to make her afraid or worried. What it is is unknown.  Welcome! |

She has high expectations of herself that include being able to play a multitude of instruments, sing, dance, and compose. She is very serious, especially about her craft but finds great joy in music, especially as it allows her to express herself better than words. She can be rather awkward around others, but she tries. ' should I talk about how we saved Rei? My memory is a bit hazy, but it went something like this--
We were still teenagers. I was being targeted by...a very evil goddess.' she looked over at Phae and managed to force a giggle. ' we..didnt think to write on the walls that she sucks though. That was all you. Though Richard did later on blast ' let the bodies hit the floor' while in a different situation... anyway!
Her two chosens --- Kirah shivered. Those two had tortured her as a child and then again as she was finding out answers..she was just glad they were both now out of the picture.
She sighed. ' They were on some task for their mistress. Something having to do with dragonmarks..like the one on my arm.
Of course her plan was much more sinister, but we didn't have the whole picture at that time.
We needed to get an object to help free...a family member...and found this female blue dragon chained up in the top of a tower. She had a brainwashed spell on her and she was morphing different dark colours of light. Where the light hit-- at the base of the tower below, a clone of a random different coloured dragon formed.
The 2 chosens were busy flaying these clones. There was something sad about the blue. She had lost the will to live. We ended up freeing her from the chains, and an artificer in our party transmuted a collar with the materials we had on hand, including some Khyber crystals.' 'err..crystals that are from my home. Different properties depending on the type.' 'The collar blocked out the negative spell on her, and she bolted from her cell..but was injured. The cloning had stopped but she was in no form to move great distances.
We managed to reason with her and get her onto Claire..a giant space craft that is sentient and had been with the artificers family. Once inside, we took off and got her looked after. She decided then to stick around, in her elven form.
Kirah was leaving out some technical information but really didn't want to bombard the others with information about her home or the items specific to that area.

The stories of adventure filled the hearts of the sphinxes as they listened with warm food and drink. Bellies full some of the moonfire elves were going to the hot springs and invited whoever wished to go along. The hot spring could be found from a distance as plumes of steam in the cold air rose above the tree line. Rocks, smoothed over the centuries, encircled the comfortably hot water and as the group soaks the priestesses pass around even more alcoholic drinks.As darkness fell and the moon rose it was time for the elves with bodies limber from a nice hot soak to head towards the bonfire.In a clearing was a large bonfire pit with smooth earth around it, perfect for dancing. Many of the priestesses were already setting up instruments, hand harps, flutes, drums, whatever they needed for good dance music. Others were unsheathing silvery swords while removing their garb. If asked why they did so, the common response was 'Of course it's to keep our clothes from catching on fire. It's also the way the Moonfire goddess wishes to be honored.'The music began slow and soft but quickly built up to a dancing crescendo. Nearly on a unspoken queue the elves began their dance, each taking their turn to 'do their own thing' and caper around the fire. Any visitors were very welcome to take a turn to dance out their feelings. After each had a turn the whole group began a circle dance around the bonfire. The entire scene was melodic, ethereal and beautiful. ((OOC))

Post your visiting (ETA: or Moonfire) sphinx along with a song that they love (video or lyrics, either is fine) to enter.All who enter will be put into a draw to have a drow sphinx gain a level 2 moonfire class upgrade. (ETA: The contest entrant does not need to be the upgraded sphinx.) There will be three more winners with a choice of one of the following...        You have until 4 hours after this post to enter (I'll figure out the results tomorrow).

Do we need to post which job upgrade we'd like? Since any visiting, or local sphinx can be in the entry and the upgrade is just for a drow sphinx, it should probably be left for the winner to choose afterwards. ETA: Heh, I forgot that I was going to make it local moonfire sphinxes for the entries as well as visitors. Whoops! I fixed that. |
