Happy belated birthday, MA! I hope you had a great day! I generally check each day, but the last week has been a bit crazy. So, I must have missed it over the weekend.

Soooooo...been a little quiet on my end, but...I just want to drop this here. I got my learner's permit back on September 12th. Dad took me over to the DMV nearest me and I took the knowledge test. I passed, only getting 2 wrong...because I second guessed myself. So I got that 'lovely' piece of paper. Given that I'm an adult, I don't need as many hours as a new driver, I only need 6. Lovely. So after I got that, Dad and I went to the one farm stand that Dad had been telling me about for a while now. Nice little place. Get back to the apartment and I start to relax. Not even 30 minutes after I got back to the apartment is Dad sending me a text with a link to the driving school he wants to have me enroll in and he's telling me to send them my info. Fine. I did that the next day though. I didn't hear anything, so sent it again. Meanwhile Dad is up my butt about it. Week and a half ago he texted and asked if I had heard anything, I said I hadn't. He then said, we'll be there shortly and we'll go up. Lovely. Made a stop at Lowe's, then went to the driving school and managed to schedule lessons. Wonderful. So my lessons are every Tuesday at 10am and I was told I was going to like my instructor and was told that she actually likes teaching the adults more than the teens. In my lessons and for my final test, I'm driving their cars, which are Kia Souls, which I saw were good cars for first time/beginner drivers. Okay, good. Out of practice I'm driving a 24 year old Buick Century...aka Land Yacht(my name for it at least)
My first lesson on September 24th and I met my instructor. She is really nice and also a school bus driver. Okay I feel comfortable already. Yes, my parents drove ambulances for a living and are technically big, but...school bus is bigger and longer so...she wins. She takes me to the one state park near me, one that I know of and have been to a few times. We get there and she takes me to the one parking lot that's big enough for me to get comfortable with the car. Oh yea, I like the Kia Soul. Once I learned where all the controls were, lesson really started as I started doing warm up loops and 'figure' 8's. Once I was comfortable, she had me go down to the end where there was a left loop around, make the loop and head out of the parking lot. She had me going in and out of parking lots, making the right hand turns and the arounds. Had a spike buck in the one lot and I managed to slow down to see what he would do and once he walked into the woods, I continued on. We get to lot 13, which was a left, and it's a tiered parking lot. So I made my way carefully down the hill, made the left loop and up the hill and she had me go into the lowest lot to the end, make the hard left turn back to the loop, up the hill and did that again, then had me go up to the next and do the same thing. I did the same with each tier, then she had me do rights with that lot. I did well. She then had me go back out, make the left and go to the marina, make the right, go down to the end and make the left, then another left, then another, then a right and go back on to the park road as if I'm heading for the exit. On the way out, she had me making left hand turns into the parking lots. She then had me center the car, stop, put the hazards on and we got out and looked. I was pretty center. Went to the lot below the one I started in and we switched back. She took me down pretty much the whole way, but then she pulled into the one park, backed into a spot and we switched. I brought it out of the park, made the right and drove the 4 minute straight shot back to the apartment and was at 45. I did really well. I had no spaces out front of the apartment, so I managed to get the car up and into the apartment driveway and didn't hit the retaining walls on either side of the driveway. She was very happy with how I did and is looking forward to my next lesson...which is October 1st.
Dad had me out to practice in the Buick on Friday, so he took me back to the park and I showed him what I learned and I got used to handling the land yacht. Wider vehicle and a little longer. I did really well and Dad was happy with what I had learned. When we got to the marina though, he had me pick a long parking spot to the left and pull into it. It took me a few shots, but I did pretty good, then I had to do one to the right. Need a little work. He then had me go to the normal car parking lot and had me pick a spot to the left and pull in. I did pretty good. He then had me back out, go around the lot again, pick a spot and BACK in to the spot. Yea, I need work on that, but I did okay and I didn't back up on to the grass and into the small ditch. After that I took him back out, made the left turns into the parking lots and once we got to the lot I started in, he showed and made some suggestions with backing into a spot. Okay, no problem. After that he brought me back to the apartment and said I did good.
Today he took me out again for a little bit. My driving practice today took an...interesting turn. Dad came and picked me up and we went back to the park where I had my first lesson. I did my warm up laps in the one parking lot like last time, then it was nice and easy in and outs of the other parking lots and a 'hit the brakes on wet leaves' momentary teaching moment. I did good. I was heading for lot 13 and...I made a wrong turn and headed for the exit instead of lot 13. Shit. So what did Dad do? 'Okay, you're going to make a right up here at the sign, I'm going to make it interesting'. Shit. Yea, he had me on the road doing 45 to 55 miles per hour. I...I actually did good. I kept it between the lines, I didn't do any dumb movements, kept my eyes up ahead. We had a beautiful fox run out in front of me at one point and I did NOT hit my brakes or the fox. I pretty much made one BIG loop back to the park. I...wow...my brain was going 'oh shit you're on the real road and a real speed...oh shit...you're doing it', but I kept focused. We got back to the park, I went back to my 'warm up loop' parking lot, pulled in and we ended practice there on a good note. Dad was happy with what I did.
October 8th is my final lesson and...possibly also my exam, that's if my instructor feels I'm ready for it and also while everything is still fresh in my mind. If I don't feel I'm ready, I can push the test back, but we'll see. So...yea...beware world...I'm driving....for the most part XD

Hello again guys!
We took a couple month RP hiatus and are back, refreshed and raring to go!
We do have plans for an event that will be big, but wound up being a bit too big for the time we have before Yule. So the original plot is being moved to the Heb and instead we'll do something that will fit into the fall schedule. ^_^
I've been working on a bunch of new things and sometime around the end of this month or early November we'll have a fun (and a little gallows humorous) event.
What has everybody been up to the last few months?
