The Temple of Aphrodite
The temple dedicated to Aphrodite was a spectacular affair. Crafted nearly completely of marble, embossed and accented by precious metals. Masterfully carved statues stood both outside in the luscious gardens, and inside decorating the temple. Varying, glorious, samples of art decorated nearly every part of the temple.
At the very back of the temple was a massive, gloriously carved marble and gold statue of Aphrodite poised on a half shell.
Cozy cushions and divans were placed about here and there for both clergy and guests to recline and admire the beauty.
Within the main foyer sat a marble fountain topped with a statue of Aphrodite. Fresh, crystal water cascaded forth from the amphora that the statue held into the basin.
Beside the main foyer was a large, delightfully beautiful dining hall. The marble tables were heaving with sumptuous food and drink.
The extravagant gardens surrounding the temple were a delight to the eye with it's flowering trees, marble stone pathways, statuary, fountains and reflecting pools.
Flocking among the branches were many white doves... the sacred animal of Aphrodite.
A beautiful marble, mosaic decorated public bath was open to the visitors of the temple, simply down the main path of the garden to the left. Upon it's invitingly, magical warm waters white swans glided. The scent of perfumed bath oils and soaps held in the air.
The edge of the garden touched the warm sands of the beach where azure waves gently lapped and flowed towards shore.
Everything about this temple was a work of art... a beauty to behold.

Peristeri: Salutations, and welcome all to the temple of Aphrodite! I'm excited to have you all here. Please, explore the temple's main floor, partake in the food laid out and enjoy the pure beauty of the art. If you wish there is a public bathhouse that you can follow the path through the gardens to. I have had a grand feast laid out for you. Feel free to use all of our amenities. You can also stroll along the beach to search for the lovely seashells that Aphrodite blesses us with.

Priestess Trials
Peristeri: The temple of Aphrodite is always happy to welcome new faithful with open arms, but sadly we only have limited room for new Priestesses. So we need to find the most special entrants, the ones that Aphrodite shows her favour to.
Sometime soon I will be setting up the trials, but until then please be patient and enjoy the temple. Prayers and offerings to Aphrodite can't hurt either. |

Temple Offerings
(Auctions for Priestesses of Aphrodite)
Peristeri: With the amount of beautiful art that the temple both commission and buy we sometimes find our coffers lacking. There are priestesses who have offered to bring you more personal blessings for donations to the temple. We shall be auctioning off their attentions so the temple has the funds to obtain even more beauty.
Here are two of the lovely priestesses who are offering up their services to bring funds to the temple...

OOC: These are auctions to win priestesses of Aphrodite.
Due to our avoiding PI this year the above two will be auctioned for USD. If we do spread out to other sites, and it is within their rules to do so, there should be more added for auctions with other currencies.

Priestess of Aphrodite Trial!
Peristeri: Welcome to the trial to see who understands love and beauty enough to join in the ranks of the Priesthood of Aphrodite. This year we will hold a ritual to Aphrodite to see who she shall bless to become a Priestess.
We shall be allowing two female Grecian sphinxes into the priesthood this year. Simply gather your offerings of beauty and love for Aphrodite to see which pleases her the most.
Good luck, and may love, beauty and passion guide you.((OOC)) To enter Peristeri's challenge post a picture of your regular posed, female, greek sphinx who wants the job upgrade to Priestess of Aphrodite with the words "I give my offering to you Aphrodite, may you find me worthy." in bold. You may add RP notes if you wish to add flavour. It's not necessary to enter, but is appreciated. ^_^ Along with the above criteria you need to post an entry for each of the following... (It can be an image/video/lyrics/ - a beautiful piece of art
- a beautiful scene
- a piece of beautiful jewelry
- a beautiful flower
- a beautiful song (link to a video/file of it, or put down lyrics in a spoiler)
- a beautiful/tasty looking cooked or baked food (one picture)
- an item that you adore
- a seashell
- the ocean/sea
- something that symbolizes or emphasizes love to you
You must have one picture/song/etc for each of the above to enter. You may use images/songs/etc from the internet and get one point for each image. But... if you post a picture that you take for this contest with your username in the picture and the words "For Aphrodite", you shall receive two points for that picture. One winner shall be chosen by the entry that impresses me the most, and the rest will be put into a random draw for the second upgrade with a number of entries equal to the points you scored. Korrina smiled and breathed a deep sigh of contentment as she moved amid the halls of the goddess of love. In her travel pack she'd secreted a few small offerings but she'd take her time moving among the new visitors and some she recognized from her visits as a cub herself.
Her ears swiveled as she heard the gasps and oos and ahhs. She fully agreed with the priestess Peristeri that this temple was a beautiful place and well honoring it's goddess.
An almost constant goofy smile played about her mouth as she made her way through.

 Hanlowa quietly entered the temple with a satchel and walked towards the statue of Aphrodite. Gazing upon it, she smiled and reached into her satchel, bringing out a scallop shell in perfect condition, a statue of a dolphin, a small golden apple, a pink rose, and some pearls. "Great Aphrodite. I bring these offerings to you in hopes that I may have good luck during the trials and through the festival. Thank you." |

 Oasis walks into the temple as if its what has to be done and offers a bowl of sea water a clam and a simple tray of fruits "Goddess Aphrodite, i am not much but a simple commoner, i have only these gifts i do not wish to be anything more than a Priestess of yours, and to get your guidance. I do not want to rival your beauty, nor out shine you. Please accept my gifts" with that Oasis bows her head and wishes the Goddess well and leaves
