Dad's trip to the hospital turned out to be Covid. Luckily it was mild, and he has mostly recovered. He got his last dose of medicine today. Mom is still not out of rehab yet, but I have to call back tomorrow to check if they have a real timeline for me.

And now my 12 year old computer is potentially dying on me. It still boots up, but it's having trouble connecting to the Internet and that's 90% of what I use it for.

How annoying, spring! I'm sorry. I hope it starts behaving or that you are maybe able to get a good holiday deal on a replacement.
Just a quick update for Rasa and me. My mother is still in skilled care. They mentioned keeping her several more weeks but said they would do their best to have her out by Christmas. My older siblings are still useless jerks and cannot/will not help despite the fact that my oldest sister lives closer to my parents than we do. Tai's mobility is getting worse, but otherwise, he's actually doing better than I suspected he would be.

I am actually decorating the apartment. I...may have had a minor meltdown. One of the things I put out was a Lenox Angel figurine, but it was one that I had sent over to my unicorn sister Janine. Sadly because she had passed away last year in November...she never got to open it, never got to hold it, never got to see it's beauty. Her daughter contacted me in March to tell me the news and she sent back the package. I pulled out the box an hour a little after 12:30 and took the figurine out and...I broke down. I set it in place where I wanted it and I just cracked. I cried for a while before I pulled myself together to get back to decorating. Granted I have pictures up from last year, but I'm pretty good at remembering where everything goes...surprisingly. However if I've questioned myself, I look and I've been right. So far I'm doing good. Taking a momentary break because I had a brain fart. I had something that normally went up on two nails in the living room at the house and...I don't have that here. Command strips are my friend XD Just need to wait for them to set. It says 'wait 1 hour before using'. Uh uh...I wait longer...usually 6, but the longest was 12 hours...just to make sure they set. The stuff that had been on the shelves previously were put away except for Mom's urn and her Bearfoots vase. I put them on a simple side table and they'll sit close the the bookshelves in the corner. I'll get pictures  |

The holidays can be really rough, especially after losing people you love.  After Mr. Pooka's lost his mother we mostly stopped with the decorations for a while. She loved the holidays, like, seriously loved them and it was hard to look at the decorations without her around. |

*hugs both* Thanks. Having my little meltdown yesterday was...actually a good thing. I just needed to have that meltdown. I knew I was going to have some of those and I was told by a few people that I would need those meltdowns, to just have those good hard cries and let it out...so long as I do it while no one else is around. That's why if I'm out somewhere and something sparks a memory, I can hold it together somewhat til I get away from other people and just let it out. I know I'll be okay, but it's going to take a little while to get used to this path that I...wasn't quite fully prepared for.

I haven't been around much the past few days because I got sick right before Christmas again :'D My brother traveled to Texas and brought something home with him of course. We may legitimately have to delay celebrating this year while it cycles through the house

Our elderly neighbor fell today. We had to call emergency services to help her as well, but it seems she had been there for a few hours. We helped her all we could after as well only to find the neighbor right next to her finally texted us to check on her as she had heard her during that time. It was so frustrating to find that out. We had just gone to check on her by chance. So Sang and I may be distracted today as we are very worried about her health and safety.
