Also... I have to add my own bit of heartache here. I lost my 97-year-old grandmother at the end of March due complications from a fall. Grandma Wilma was my last living grandparent and had been in assisted living since February 2020 due to cognitive decline, but was still independent enough not to require (or want!) 24/7 care. Then in mid-march, she fell getting out of bed, fractured her arm in two places, and was unable to use her call button (the call button was on her arm, got caught between the mattress and bed frame in the fall) and just never recovered.
Fortunately, she was still able to recognize friends and family members and was capable of forming deep emotional bonds even with the staff who cared for her in her final days, and her personality and sense of humor were still very much intact. The pastor who came to officiate at her burial told us that everyone who'd talked about her since her passing had done so with a smile. I told him I thought that was because we so rarely saw her without a smile on her face! She was one of the most optimistic, cheerful people I've ever known and had a way of making everyone welcome who came to visit.

Pooka, I wish nothing but the best for you both. We're here for you whenever you need to 'bend an ear'. No pun intended. ~ hugs a lot ~ if we could reach you we would. *** sounds of running feet. Many many running feet. Group hug coming on. A big ball of arms and legs. Sounds of grunts, groans. Dancing bodies all crammed together. *** Bad Spellers of the World ... Untie!

I'm sorry to hear about that, Pooka. That sounds both frightening and stressful with all those appointments. I hope everything turns out well.
Spring, I'm sorry to hear about your grandmother. She sounds like she was a pretty amazing lady.
Hugs to you both. <3

Pooka: Don't worry about us, health comes first and if it means pushing the Heb back a little more, so be it. We want both of you to be in good health. Take it easy and we'll be here *-sends hugs and good vibes-*
Spring, I'm sorry for your loss. It's never easy losing that special family member. I know when my Mom-mom Lillian passed, I broke. It's always hard, but know that she's watching you from above and she loves you. *-sends hugs-*

Oh gosh, I am so sorry to hear of what you have been going through as of late. It definitely sounds like a heavy and scary burden to carry. I wish you both all the best in navigating your present medical needs.
I am also terribly sorry to hear of your loss, Spring. It sounds as though she was a influential and impactful person in your life. I hope that her memory will comfort you.

My condolences to you Spring. It's always hard to lose a family member. Moophles (and everybody else who has lost a furry friend) Once back when I was dealing with the loss of one of my furry family members, Sweetsue sent me this message. I have no clue who wrote it. It's not something to cheer somebody up, but it's a sweet poem that may be what you could use right now. They will not go quietly, the pets who've shared our lives. In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives. Old habits still make us think we hear a cry at the door. Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor. Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be, And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly. And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill, That one place in our hearts belongs to them. . . and always will. I just remembered that I had it saved in my documents.
