I wonder if the Serpent People worship Apep or if they're affiliated with the Serpent Queen in Lamoria. Based on the hints we got in thread, some of them might worship Apep AND be affiliated with the Serpent Queen.

((Had to finish it out right! XD Thanks for all the fun Mr. Pooka!))
Memphis turned just as the hex was being cast and subsequently jumped back. The distance he gained with his physical exertion didn't seem far enough, especially with the deep red glaring and vicious eyes the scaley female possessed. Yet within the blink of an eye, her features softened and a face far less daunting emerged as the female clamored for cover.
Memphis tilted his head not sure what to make of it. As a ranger, he had seen some things, but this was bizarre. Though it wasn't in his nature to retaliate unnecessarily he couldn't help but feel slighted that the attack came at his back. This female was surely lacking an honorable thought when that hex was cast. Drawing his bow and arrow he posed ready to let it fly as his eyes scanned her features.
"I don't know who you are, or what you want. I would, however, suggest you go the other way." His voice boomed from his mouth expelling an air of strength and assertivity.
And with that, the red-eyed female darted off, without another word or glance, leaving Memphis to scratch his head after his stance relaxed. Totally ignorant to what his friend was dealing with Memphis turned to Aahmas, "Any ideas what that was?"

((Also gotta finish this out! XD))
Aahmas was just as startled as the other Sphinx (Memphis) when a second Djet-headed sphinx appeared. When she finally recovered from her initial shock, the Djet-headed female had gone and Aahmas' new ranger acquaintance was asking her if she had any ideas what that was.
"N-No. None at all. Unless perhaps these serpent people are part of some sort of cult?"
The serpent-headed priest hissed loudly at that.
"Ssss. Yesss. Thisss place sssacred to Sssset. Sssset fightssss Apep. Triesssss to take Apep's plassse. Sssset musssst be dessstroyed." The priest's tail lashed and his hood flared. "Sssstrangersss come from ssstrange landsss. Sssset is god of sssstrange landsss. Sssstrangerssss mussst sssstay, not go back to sssstrange landssss."
